Dolby Atmos in Pie Beta - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

Anyone notice Dolby Atmos added in Pie beta? I feel improved sound in AKG ear phones, but still not great. Anyone else tried? Share your experience.
Update: I tried the below settings. The audio is very clear and load.
1. Neutron Player
1. Settings > DSP Effect > enable equalizer.
2. Settings > DSP Effect > Stereo effect > Choose your preferred option. I used crossfeed for headphones and sourond for car speakers.
3. Settings > Equalizer Presets > Choose your preferred option. I like R&B and Rock for my contents.
4. Settings > enable replay gain.
5. Settings > enable 64bit processing.
6. Settings > Resampling > Choose Audiophile.
7. Settings > enable Audio Gain Protection.
8. Settings > Audio Hardware > enable DSP Effect (Device), Dither, phase inversion, subsonic filter, ultrasonic filter, hardware gain, audio focus.
9. Settings > Audio Hardware > generic driver > enable 1st three option.
10. Settings > Audio Hardware > channels > Quad
2. Enable Dolby Atmos in Android settings
3. Enable / modify following Bluetooth settings under developer options after connecting speaker and every time you connect the speaker
1. Bluetooth audio codec > LDAC if your device supports
2. Sample rate 96Kzh
3. Bits per sample 32bits
4. Audio quality - optimised for audio.
4. Use lossless format like flac as source

Its present. Its good ) no big difference

Is it really present in the Official Beta that Samsung released?

Was the first thing I noticed.
Works nice, makes not a huge difference in sound quality, but it's good to be finaly on our loved Note8.

[Q] Need help about DSP Manager

When i listen to music with Apollo or any apps with DSP Manager enable sometime I've a problem.
There nothing happen, no effect at all.
Then I change a track... its gone BOOM! media volume get to maximize level (Yeah... when I'm on a headphone, it was a freaking pain )
When I lower my volume then its jump back to normal level.
Like these > I set media volume to 5 >Listen to my awesome music > Enable DSP > No Effect > Skip track > Boom it go to level 15 > Lower a volume via volume rockr one click > Back to Level 5
I don't know what really happen there as I've said above "sometime" But after the 1st error this problem still persist.
I've Clear Data Of DSP apps,Fix permission, Factory Reset. Nothing seem to fix.
I've Try some Rom, like CM9.0//CM9.1//CM9 b20121028//Rootbox ICS 1.8//Some other ROM (I can't remember)
mostly on Siyah and Dream Kernel.
And for Rootbox thats used MusicFX, Its give me unsatisfied result (sometime its same problem. No effect But no media volume jump)
So if there any fix for this problem? or I'm need to stuck with Sammy Rom forever (And I hate Touch-Wiz )
And sorry for my English, If it gave you a headache (LOL)

[Q] sound problem on GT P7500 on JB 4.1.2

hello ...
i have a GT P7500 and after updating to JB 4.1.2
i´ve noticed that the volume through headphones
is too low ... is there anyone with same problem ???
is there a solution to this issue ...
i went through settings and could not find option
to control or to activate or check or whatever ...
need help ...
thx
I'm on jb 4.2 now, but i'm guessing you have the 'safe headset volume' in your settings, so go to
Settinhs > sound > safe headset volume > uncheck
Other than that, go to your DSP Manager app, then go to WWM8994 or something like that, if you open that, you see 'headset volume' turn up the amplifier level until you reach the sound level you want.
Hope this helped

Thanks for the tips. I don't have a "Safe headset volume" under Settings > Sound. However, I do remember it asking me the first time I used the headset plugged speakers and did uncheck it then.
I also have headset volume turned up under WWM8994.
I can get somewhat higher volume with Volume+ but it's so distorted that I can't listen to it. Again, this was fine under stock ICS. Something is amiss, I just can't find the right combination.

Check the other options in your dsp manager, if the issue is not there, try to reflash or contact the developer

Improve Sound

I am using the Eragon rom. It's a great rom with good battery life however the sound when the ringtones sound sound very tinny and horrible. I tried the official rom and the same thing. Eragon has apparently got a beats mod to improve this but I see no improvement. Is there any tips for this.?
Go to settings --> Sound & notification --> Sound enhancement --> Disable everything
Go to Dolby Atmos --> disable it
Go to Viper4Android --> Phone Speaker --> enable Master Power --> enable Speaker Optimization
Everyone likes a different sound. In my opinion this seems to be a neutral sound with slight improvement through Viper4Android.
You could also test Dolby Atmos --> enable Music --> choose Intelligent Equalizer Rich
Or you could just adjust the equalizer in Viper4Android.
In conclusion the speaker is just a cheap mono speaker and you won't get the perfect sound out of it. This cannot be fixed via software.
Or maybe your speaker has a malfunction and you should let elephone repair it.
thanks for the reply, just today the sound seems ok. it seemed to do this last time i done a full wipe, needs 5 days to settle down. i have done your suggestions anyway and see if there is further improvement. it is the bass that the speaker is badly missing but i dont think that youll get it from a phone speaker.

Audio tips for the Xperia X Compact

My previous setup for music was to cast Spotify to my Chromecast Audio, through a tube amp to my DT990 250 ohm headphones (really good cans for $129). Although this was nice, I always felt restrained to my chair for quality audio enjoyment. That all changed with the Xperia X Compact.
I'm really impressed with this small device. The audio output is by far the best I've come across. The 24-Bit DAC, 192kHz is pretty standard nowadays but the software is what makes all the difference. I wanted that Walkman vibe and I definitely got that with this device.
Setting > Sound > Audio setting
DSEE HX:
Digital Sound Enhancement Engine - software that analyzes sound sources and expands high frequencies to near High Resolution Audio quality.
ClearAudio+
Fine-tunes sound for an immersive, emotionally enriching experience.
Audio setting + headphone pairing:
For high impendance/open-back headphones, 60 ohms and above:
enable 'DSEE HX', that's it. This works across most apps, including Spotify. Low end headphones will not notice a difference.
For low impendence/close-back headphones, 32 ohms and below:
Setting > Sound > Audio setting > Sound effects > Headphone settings > Surround sound (VPT) > Studio
Enbable 'S-Force Front Surround'
For in-ear/ear-buds headphones:
I found the best setting is to leave everything disabled
For mono tracks (The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, 60's music etc.):
Setting > Sound > Audio setting > Sound effects > Headphone settings > Surround sound (VPT) > Club
Enable 'Dynamic normalizer' & 'S-Force Front Surround'

Don't know whether this will work on your Android OS version:
Tap Settings > Sound & notification, then tap Audio Effects at the very top of the screen. (Yes, that's actually a button, not a heading.)
Make sure the Audio Effects switch is on, then go ahead and touch those five levels, or tap the Equalizer drop-down to pick a preset.
If your device is hooked up to wired stereo speakers, tap the Wired Stereo tab to choose an Effects Profile (such as "3D stereo," "home theater," "live stage," and so on) or a Surround setting (Live, Wide, or Ambient).
Audio effects option is not available in sound and notifications menu.
@gul610
If you're on Android 4.4+ then try Equalizer FX, is has a loudness enhancer.
Other equalizer apps that come with a loudness enhancer exist, too. GIYF ...
