Hi there,
I have the same phone as yours except its TA-1021, I tried to flash an update from the XDA forum link it soft bricked my phone. I had to do a lot of research to unbrick my phone and it worked. Anyways the answer to your question is Nokia is currently working on Android Pie 9.0. However, I noticed that you can register any Nokia phone for Beta testing there new software, however I do not recommend it as it is unstable. However, you can go to this website and get the new security updates for your phone, maybe that might trigger an OTA update for your phone. I haven't tested it, but make sure you do your own research.
AND REMEMBER DO NOT UPDATE ANY OTA UPDATES THROUGH SD CARD, IT WILL SOFT BRICK YOUR PHONE. IF BRICKED SENT ME A MESSAGE ON XDA I WILL GUIDE YOU TO UNBRICK YOUR PHONE.
Thank You

Hi there guys/girls,
Ok so I've decided i've had enough of froyo and this stupid locked bootloader, I was holding off as I have seen there being many cases of hard bricked phones and being someone with no insurance can't afford to brick my phone.
On that note is there anyone that can provide me with a guide to unlock my boot loader and get gingerbread specific to my phone ( please use noob terms as i'm not too familiar with moto modding )
my phone details:
System version - Version.4.4.20.MB860.Orange.en.GB
Firmware - 2.2.2
Baseband - N_01.95.00R
Build Number - OLYEM_U4_4.2.0
Any help is really really appreciated.
If any more details are required let me know and thanks in advance.
Ron
Somebody.... Anybody??
Have a read here
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
but from how i understand it once you have done it you can do any updates (must have read that wrong).
Many thanks for the help.
I have now unlocked my bootloader and am still on froyo 2.2.2 but am suffering from the ram problem ( only showing around 300mb ram )
Can anyone provide me with a simple guide to fix this?
Also does this now mean no more OTA updates?
Thanks in advance
No one feel like helping me out?
Well to add an incentive... If someone can provide me with a simple guide I will buy them a drink ( via paypal )

I had the same RAM issue. There is a ROM out there with the RAM fix but you can get this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16035823#post16035823 ROM and follow the instructions on how to install it. CAUTION: You MUST verify and install the kernel version specific to your phone from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1169409 link.
NOTE: I am not responsible for your actions and you should always make backups of your phone before trying anything. Try downloading tenfar's CMW4 to make backup of your ROM and get Titanium bakcup pro to save the configurations on your phone.
Good luck.
so to unlock bootloader and install fastboot on my Orange 4.2.0 atrix (UK) Ill need
1.Orange/Bell/Telestra/Latin America/International users ONLY - Download IHOP
2.RSD lite 5.3.1
3. fastboot
thats correct? and what is chance of brick ?
Im on irange mate and no brick for me, got full ram too. If you want me to write you a quick guide later i will. Let me know.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Little guide for us uk phone users would be good.

yes mate will be great
let us know when you finish mate
Hi mate, dont have my laptop to hand to write a guide. I posted a post a while a go with links to which guides i used.
Click on my username and find posts by me and youll be good to go.
If you wanted to wait i will be making a full guide including downloads etc for us uk orange users.

Heres the quick guide I posted, If you still want a full guide written out from scratch then Ill do that soon. Read through my thread here and you shouldn't brick your atrix. - I shouldn't and won't be held responsible for anything that you do to your own device happy unlocking.
Hey thanks for all the support. There are loads of noob Orange Atrix users waiting for Gingerbread OTA. I am one of them. Is there a guide tailor made for Orange UK users that I can follow? Also, if I use this, and the oTA comes through, can we flash back to that, or will it brick? And once bricked, what can we do? Ive got no insurance and brick will NOT be good, when I try to backup up from the (Boot + Volume Up = Android Recovery) all I get is the Android Logo staring at me with an exclamation mark. I understand you probably have a lot on your plate milky kid, but we are all FED UP waiting for Motocraps OTA. Thanks for any support you can offer.
Hi guys
Sorry but i am a noob to all this so have proberly stupid questions.
After flashing to a customer rom i went back to a stock t-mobile rom. Problem i now face is when i try to download apps from other companies that are not on the app store eg mfortune they are unable to detect the type of phone i am using so i get "sorry we do not currently support your device" despite being able to do so before rooting and flashing. Is there a way i can change this with the release of skyGo on android this month i want to be able to download it. As it will be only on the galaxy s2 and HTC phones for some time i dont really want to wait.
Any help please???
Did you do a full whipe? Adding some details like model number, the rom you flashed and the one you came from may get you some more useful results.
As for the skyGo app, it won't take more than a day for it to pop up as an APK somewhere on the net.
Hello
Thanks for the reply i am currently in work so i cant look at my phone but will update on which firmware and kernal version i am running
I did however follow this guide to root reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-phones/how-to-root-your-samsung-galaxy-s2-50004972/[/url]
Not sure if that helps i did not however use the guide to flash the secure kernal maybe thats where i have gone wrong.
I will update the thread with the info later.
Thanks again

it is a fairly clean rom only has an asda widget which is uninstallable,
cant tell you too much about it as he smashed it about 2 weeks after getting it and it hasnt worked since
i think it was the lollipop update, the pad was pretty decent for £50

Hello,
Thank you very much for sharing the file. The links seem to be dead, as in they're no longer uploaded/accessible from the URL you have provided. Do you think you could share the file again? I apologise for any inconvenience.
Or could anyone share the stock ROM from the P791 tablet from ASDA?
Thank you and kind regards.

i havent got the file anymore - i originally got it from the settings in the tablet,
settings - about tablets - system updates
it just downloaded the file via browser to downloads folder as i recall, and you copy it out before it detects the update file is there.
it downloads from ftp://mypolaroidtablet.com but i cant access that from my laptop without a username and password
i dont recall it asking when accessing from the tablet, which i cant do as its been dropped a couple of times and now the screen is cracked and the wifi doesnt work
regards

Hey there, I just got one of these p791 Polaroid tablets for Christmas this year.
When I try to do the usual update method (Settings > About tablet > System update) it locks up and I have to force it to stop. So no auto-updates for me.
Currently stuck on KK 4.4.2
Is there anyone or anyway to get this ROM so I can manually install it, or anyone who's had this problem and fixed it so I can just update my tablet.

Hopefully you already got it sorted.. However, if not then you may want to know the tools usually used to fix this device are:
RKBatchTool,
AndroidTool,
Or PhoenixSuit (although I've not managed to get this one to work)
You can do a quick Google search on any of the tools mentioned above as well as find information on the installation process including the flashing of the P791 device.
I wasn't able to get mine turned on again but you may be able to. (Years ago I used these tools and got it working again, but can't seem to do it this time, maybe mines just had it. I think these are the only options for us though and I remember the annoying task of trying to figure it out as the specific device you're talking about, the one from Asda isn't hardly mentioned nor is it even supported by manufactures anymore so now I have an account on here I thought I'd just post this reply ?

**Update**
Since writing my reply to your OP I decided to give it another go and was successful.
I used AndroidTools to complete the process of flashing the stock update.img via the "Firmware" tab. If you need any help doing it feel free to reply to this post!

hey, ive been looking for help for a very long time now trying to get my tablet working, got in touch with the support team at Polaroid and they told me i was practically on my own because they dont have a copy of the firmware but now ive found this thread im hoping that you could help me, i dont really know how to get to firmware from the link in this thread to work on my tablet, ive tried loading it from an sd card on the tablet but it fails, i know im probably doing it wrong so some help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance
Hi everyone first off I'm new so sorry if I can't find the answer or posted in wrong section. But I have t mobile note 8 n950u. 7.1.1 baseband was n950usqu3bra9 but now it's different n950usqu3ara1 n I'll explain.
Oreo update has been out since may 23 and I purchased my note 8 a few days ago from used phone shop and they switched my carrier to metro on the spot. It's not unlocked. I didn't have the update available but I know it's definitely around nowadays so I have been looking for it around the web and thru the forums trying to find a way to update. I seen a video pointing out to download an update and try it and it originally failed. I remember the update ended in crc3 if that matters and since then my baseband has changed. I believe because I'm on metro that I won't get the update regularly l like I should.
My question is does everyone else already have oreo already from t mobile? And also can someone point me to somewhere or help me find a way to get Oreo on my device please I really want the update and freaking out because I think I changed my baseband n ruined my chances of getting it.
Any help if appreciated and thank you. Ps I would need links to what files to download as I'm not good with these things and really don't wanna destroy my phone.
hows your battery life so far??
Hello, i recently bought a new huawei p20 lite, after a few hours of use the autorotaion stopped working, the g-sensor isn't recognised by the phone, suggestions please?
Hi there
If it really is not working, might be a defect on the phone from factory, which is rare since they test them supposely, but since it's on warranty just call warranty or ask for a new phone which I think you can because it's an hardware issue.
Cheers,
AS

I had the same issue with my P20 lite. I noted that the problem was due to firmware upgrade (i don' t rember my version because I change it with a new phone)
Did you made any update?
If yes, you can try to rollback.
can yuo provide your firmaware version?
Hi, I have a preciose information about the fiirmware upgrade.
I was in the versione ANE-LX18.0.0.144(C461) and upgrade in ANE-LX18.0.0.145(C461) whith sercurity patch o October 1th.
After this update the sensors are disabled and no way to enable them, I try with factory reset (with wipe cache) from phone and erecovery.
This the second phone that I have with same issue.
Now, for sure the problem is related the software update and is related the particular build (C461).
I'm wondering if someone help us to roll backt to previouse version of fimware
Regards
Hi there, i'm sorry i am not a member of this forum but i had the same issue:
i was on build ANE-LX1 8.0.0.144 and upgraded to 8.0.0.145. At that point all motion sensors stopped working. I also upgraded to 8.0.0.146 hoping for a bugfix but nothing happened.
I asked help to the shop where i bought it and they told me the 30 day return period was expired and i needed to go to a huawei support center.
i contacted huawei customer support and they told me that if the hard reset did not work i needed to go to a huawei support center.
Today i am going to the support center and i hope they will fix the problem or at least making a downgrade to 8.0.0.144.
i will come back to you as soon as i have some news.
see you guys
Hi guys,
I've seen the same problem on the following threads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/help/compass-t3876121
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/help/auto-rotate-stopped-t3877969
I suggest you do the same downgrade with official software through the guide of kilroystyx which I link below or if you think it's too much for you then just go to a customer service center like @aaabbbggg is doing
Guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/how-to/rom-official-emui-8-0-huawei-p20-lite-t3773999

Greetings,
i went to the customer support center and they told me to come back after xmas, new year and epiphany holiday so basically i would solve this problem mid january.
since @ars_chelsea posted a solution that does not involve warranty breaking actions i will proceed with his guide to downgrade to 8.0.0.144 and eventually manually upgrade to 8.0.0.162 or maybe not.
My real problem was that i am not really into android modding and so on so i don't know forums and people to help me. I could not find any useful information or other people with the same problem until yesterday when i posted in this thread.
Thanks again to everyone.
Problem Not Solved
Hello again folks,
i downgraded EMUI to 8.0.0.144 which was the last working version on my phone using the 7th point on the guide @ars_chelsea suggested.
Anyway the problem persists.
At this point i believe the issue is in fact correlated to the software upgrade but it propagates to become an hardware issue.
i don't know if anyone has restored the full functionality with the downgrade but this doesn't seem to be my case.
Good luck every one, and thank you all for the support.
Hi there
That's really odd, but I advice you to not lose more time and just send it to warranty services, because now I'm starting to think it could be bad contact on the sensor which is a hardware problem.
It's rare to happen but man made machines sometimes fail on the making of smartphones
Cheers,
