Battery life with pie - Sony Xperia XZ1 Questions & Answers

Hi, since my update to pie one week ago, my battery drops enormously. From 5 hours of screen with oreo, now it only can last 2/3 hours. I've done the system repair from companion to have the update so the factory reset maybe has already been done. Any suggestions?
My build is 47.2.A.0.306

Your build it's oreo, beacuase Pie have number 47.x.x.4.x in build

Hate to inform you but the . 306 was Sony first Pie release, after its test run they went to .4x numbers.

You may want to check Xperia check or if you have flashtool with xperiafirm look to see if there is an updated version for your device.. As .306 was the first release, but be warn Sony has released Pie firmware in a scattered brain fashion, so depending on you model and region it may be available or may not..

Read the last part of my post.. As we don't know which model or region your in (info not supplied in your Op) check on xperia check and see if there is an update for your model or region.. If there isn't, then either A) wait for the ota. B) test out another regions firmware..

Ota can take a bit of time, but you don't need to root if you're just going to flash firmware.. You can either use flashtool or newflasher read here ( https://www.google.com/amp/s/forum....-newflasher-xperia-command-line-t3619426/amp/ ) if you go the newflasher route just download xperia firm to get your firmware.

so I can update via FlashTool without formatting? I'm stuck in 47.2.A.0.306 (which is also Pie) but since I updated via Xperia Companion I think this is a beta, also if not officially said by Sony, and I won't receive the next updates...

You can use either flashtool or newflasher, I still think .306 was a test run, now with that being said that's why I would recommend doing a complete fresh install.. I also started out on .306 and have received all the updates and all have come Ota..

Xperia C5 Ultra Marshmallow Update

Guys, I need help. I can't update my xperia c5 ultra . Basically I never got OTA update but I decided I'm just going to update it through my PC with XPERIA Companion. The problem is that when I plug in the device, xperia companion just displays the message and says that my phone is up to date but it clearly isn't because its running Android 5.1. I've tried everything, and after maybe 50 tries message "new undefined software update is available" appeared but before I could do anything it just closed itself ?
Flash manually
It's not yet released for all countries.
U have to wait for couple of days to get it.
Or else you can download the firmware from
xperiablog . net
and scroll down and you will find a post telling c5 receiving Marshmallow
And flash it manually by Flashtool software.

You'll have to wait a bit more for the OTA, I'm from Mexico (E5506 from Iusacell-AT&T) and got the update just 3 days ago, you can use xpericheck to know when your update is available.

Z5 Compact is not updating firmware

My Z5 Compact is not yet updating to nougat? How long does the roll out take? I don't know which region is my phone too. the updater always says I'm on the latest firmware. any help?
if there no ota update then use xperia companion and update that way. I also was waiting to update my wifes phone and it never came, companion updated it perfectly

Companion says my phone is up to date
There are indeed some region/operators which roll out no nougat fw yet.
It would really help to know the region of your firmware.
To find out, open your dialer and type: *#*#737842#*#*
then go to service info, software info and tell us what it says for customization version.
Then we will be able to tell you if there is a newer version.
If not, i would recommend to install another region via flashtool.
there are a lot of guides how to do. for example :

Flash another region via flashtool, like i said, if you want nougat

Normally it shouldn't matter which one you use.
You could try the australia customized. It's usually the one which gets new updates first

Guess they heard your prayers, .376 is now up for Customized SG.
You can check here, usually reliable: https://xpericheck.com/device/E5823

Hi!

I have the same problem. I made it now to install TWRP by this method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/help/downgrade-oreo-t3726161
But when I start installing with update.bat (http://www.stechguide.com/install-android-8-0-oreo-on-huawei-p10), it stops when I am in TWRP mode. TWRP does not find my p10 in usb mode. So no installation. Any suggestions?

Hi there has anyone seen the update for this version with face unlock yet? Seems some other versions have it and I can see it on firmware finder but it's not authorized for ages now and I don't have an unlocked bootloader....
Same here. I been waiting for the update with face unlock. I downloaded the update with firmware finder "update. zip" but i do not know how to install it manually.

After all that bricks I think almost nobody is taking that route. I had like 30 Android devices so far and never read so many reports.
Makes me think if the approval of update 142 could be related to this. The risk of a brick updating from 137 is too high, so they are not approving any updates until they fixed it. What you think?

I guess we should just be patient. It sucks though when all the other cheaper variants get the update first compared to a £700 flagship
Even my friends Mate 10 Lite got the update with face unlock feature smh.

There were no bricks with BLA-L29 C432 devices. I'm on B142 C432 and had no issue to update from B141 (noxloader). Also, B142 pass SafetyNet verification, so it was approved by Google.

Got this update (January security patches) after manual update with Newflasher from 47.2.A.0.306 (which I forced via PC Companion beta software repair and couldn't get any OTA) to version 47.2.A.4.45
So if you come back to any "official" build you will be able to get official updates again

You should flash to the original android 8.0 then update to the normal android pie. So you will be updated via OTA as usual. Note: You must flash the FW to the original of the machine.
