Hello, I hope not to break some rule by publishing my question here.
what happens is that I have installed the modified whastapp application (GBWhastapp), and when I give the voice command "send WhatsApp message to JUAN", the Google assistant tells me: "the WhatsApp application is not installed or needs to be updated. " and I understand that the google assistant detects that the application has a different name than the original application (WhatsApp) and that is why it does not send messages ... it occurs to me that, for example, if editing the application in the file (manifest.xml) changing the name, that will make the google assistant now if they will allow me to send messages when I say the "voice command". What methods do you advise for the google assistant to detect this modified application?
My question, what would I like to do for the google assistant, recognize the modified application, and send the messages when I speak to him?

hi
SO I have this SGSII now and using Lightning ROM on it, which has apparently the stock Calendar App. I can sync my google calendar etc and it works but there is the following nagging small issue.
If I create an event in google calendar and put a valid "google locatable address" in the "location bar" then it does show up in the event details. If I have phone number in the description it also shows up in the event details (in the sammy)
there is a hyperlink for the phone to dial the number also which is great.... HOWEVER, even if the location does show up there is no hyperlink on it, to directly locate the address in the stock "google maps" app!!!
I have to go to "edit event" and then scroll down, to the location box, and then there is the "map button" next to it which if clicked takes me to map... thats rather pain in the A**... Is there a issue-tracker for this app, where I can file an enhancement request ??

I expect you'd report it here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list.
Looking a bit further, seems to be this? http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=17984
Hey,
So this has been an ongoing thing, but pleasantly ignored until now. While it's not a huge problem, I would like the voice search function (ie that apk that lets you tap on the microphone loc. on the keyboard and have the device transcribe your speech) restored to my device. Ever since, I presume, I flashed either Chips, Eryigit, or Paranoid Android, the apk was "lost." I located a copy -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10213293&postcount=8
but to no avail. Rather, it crashed when I tried to use it for a random program and, when opened, asked me to sign up for the Google Voicemail account. Is this a new policy, without which voice search is disabled or unusable? Will it work after I sign up?
'
Thanks
Solved, surprisingly. Cannibalized my first CWM backups for the voicesearch.apk and sideloaded it. All is well, not in the world, but somewhere...
"To complete this voice action, Google needs to use your device contacts"
...
So Android voice search has started showing me this (I always say "no"); before, it used to just look up a contact in my contacts list. The "Learn more" link says they have to "send your contacts to Google"...
Is this a new functionality? i.e. was it that before, Google would use the contacts locally to determine a voice match, but now they actually send the whole contact record to their servers?
Or is it doing what it always did, except now they're just telling us about it?
Anyone know?

Hi,
I bought Sonic Sender and due to some changes in Google policy, App Developer has to taken down the app from Google Play Store. This app is very useful since it send automatically message oon whatsapp to selected contacts (For example I need to send New Year Wishes to 400 people out of my 700 whatsapp contact). I have to choose contact, select media and text and click on Send. It send automaticllay one by one to selected whatsapp contact and thus saving my time. I was using the app even after removing from play store but yesterday due to some reason I uninstalled and reinstalled app. App Version 2.0.6 which is readily available on many website crashes after opening of app (I guess due to non-availability of same on Play Store) and Version 2.1.1 stuck with Google Login and when I select account it throw error Failed to Authenticate.
Can any one help me getting the app working again or can some one suggest me any alternative to said app.
Thanks in Advance....

Did you find any alternative of Sonic Sender?
Same happened with me, i had even paid for the full version of the app, but the developer has stopped supporting this app, hence the error. Now the app tries to verify licence with Google during startup which fails due to obvious reasons. After googling a bit, i tried bypassing google licence verification using lucky patcher, but unfortunately the app had a check to prevent such hacks. I tried reaching the developer on [email protected], but got no reply.
The only way out I see is to either pester the developer to provide a usable version of the app or by using a third party app modifier like lucky patcher to bypass the verification.
Any help will be appreciated
