I previously asked this on the Xiaomi Poco Forum but didn't get much help. As I have a Poco with stock rom and still locked so I didn't think you would welcome my question here. However you are very knowledgeable people so perhaps you can help.
The attached screenshot shows the window that opens after i have clicked the Trash Cleaner notification. At the bottom is the option to have Folder Names uploaded to Cheetah Mobile's database.
Cheetah Mobile are a company that admit to selling peoples data and have recently had similar apps to this pulled from the Google Play store, It doesn't seem to be delete able and I'm not sure the acceptance slider switch would actually do what it is meant to. Perhaps that's just me being cynical.
Is this as concerning as it seems?
Thanks for the help.

Given the reputation of the company, if I were you, I would not use it. In fact I was using their browser before learning about the activities of the company and subsequently uninstalled it and formatted my phone.
EDIT: You are welcome here even if you are on stock, unrooted with unlocked bootloader. This is a place for learning and mutual help.

Hi everybody,
maybe this is a stupid question, but I would like to understand why since I've installed GetJar app on my Nexus One, when I open Dalvik Debug Monitor I see the following process (please take a look at the screenshot).
Thank you in advance, I just would like to understand if there is something to worry about

I've noticed that Getjar runs constantly, even when not in use. That's why I freeze it with Titanium unless I actually need to use it.
Ehm... and did you have any side effect doing so? Is there anyone who can tell us why the hell getjar is always running? I wish it's nothing malicious.
Thank you for your answer jesusice

I've had no ill effects. I don't think it's malicious, I just think it's a poorly desgned app and since I use it infrequently I'd prefer for it not to be running contantly.
I think I'll do as you do, I'll freeze the app. Thanks again
Do you have the first version of Cut the Rope 1.0 installed? The one they gave away for free as a 0-day promotion. If I'm not wrong the getjar service is part of the Getjar app market much like an android market service. You can safely uninstall both Getjar app and the service after you install Cut the Rope. Hope this helps.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Ok guys I just got tasked with something major.
My shop has been approved to buy tablets to hold our tech data to work on equipment. The only issue is they cannot have camera access, wifi access or bluetooth. This is just to insure that people dont end up bringing them home, loading a bunch of games on it and bringing it back to work. Its strictly going to be for PDF files and Pictures of configuration stuff. I was wondering if there was a Device administrator apk out there where I can just select these options to disable. If not, I am willing to PayPal someone some beer money if they can help me out with this. I know my way around android as with rooting and what not, but when it comes to dev I am completely clueless. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction that would be awesome, thank you.
This may work.
If you can't find it in the Play Store, I can attach an APK for you. But basically this allows you to disable most features of a phone/tablet to prevent kids from using a certain feature, but I'm guessing it can be used here too.

Ill let ya know in aprox, 90 days. Im submitting all the paperwork now to get these guys
I've been trying to search but haven't found anything on this issue. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a number of apps that appeared on my All Apps list without me ever even installing them.

The two by martetrut and the casino one. I tried searching my phone for any trace of these apps and found nothing other than their appearance on this list.
Today, I looked at my list and now more mystery apps have appeared, with another app by that martetrut dev.
I downloaded lookout and Norton and ran several scans and they didn't pick up anything.... I'm a little concerned.
Anyone have any idea on what's causing this or had a similar experience? I'd appreciate any help/input.
If it matters, I'm completely stock.

Someone may be using your account to download apps. go to play.google.com on your computer, click on the gear in the upper right corner and go to My Orders & Settings.
The Orders tab can show you when the apps in question were downloaded.
Click on the Settings Tab and look under devices to make sure only your phone is listed.
Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to delete or unauthorize a device, but at least you'll know if someone else is causing those apps to show up or not.
Best thing to do is change your account password.

Yes, this was my first thought. I would guess someone is using your account to download apps on another device.
as other users said, it's probably someone else using your account.
maybe you gave/sold your old android phone to someone without wiping data.
btw, changing your password can be a good solution
Could someone answer this as I'm a little confused. Below is a screenshot of my Dad's details - blurred out of course
Anyway, at the bottom you see a "Add relationship" field. If you click Add relationship, you are presented with a list of relationships. In here I selected Father. There is then an input box next to it.
What are you supposed to put in there? I've already told Google this contact is my Father, even if I put his real name in as the contact details, it still gives me that option.
At first I thought perhaps it was for Google Now. For instance, my girlfriend is down as her full name, so when I say "Call my Girlfriend" it would call her. However it seems like that isn't the case.
Can anyone explain this one to me. It doesn't seem to make any sense or have any use.

You can add information about the relationship in this field. I agree that you don't need it for father, but what about brother? You could add older or younger. Or, what about assistant? You could have a number of them, so you can specify what they assist with.

Still, seems a bit pointless.
It's funny as I also asked the same question on Google+ and was told that this field w to add relationships for that person. So the contacts father, mother, brother etc
I think it has more implementation coming in the future. In your case, using your dad as the example, you would choose the "Child" relationship and type your name in the text field.
The idea is that once you have populated the fields, your contacts will be linked by relationship and you will have quick access to everyone "related" to a particular contact.
Here is a post explaining how it was intended to be used: http://www.quora.com/How-do-you-use-the-relationship-field-in-google-contacts
Hopefully that helps, but who knows when it will actually be fully functional...
I personally really like this feature. My parents are both on Facebook and I need to keep their name correct on their contact card for proper syncing. However for some reason, one relationship is incorrect. Brother. Is anybody figured out how to make a correction?

Hello,
Sorry if I'm not posting this in the right place, however I don't know where else to try.
Since yesterday evening, I have some strange cpu and battery stats on my rooted Galaxy S6 device:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
These stats appear on top of everything, including my secure lockscreen, camera, etc, which makes me think this is some hidden Android feature.
The reason why I'm posting is: I personally didn't enable this, I've had some guests yesterday, but none of them is really tech-savvy, and I don't have any additional apps installed since yesterday.
Does anybody have any idea what this is and how to disable it?
Thanks
It's of an app installed on your device, AccuBattery, check it's settings, or uninstall it if you don't need it.

Wow, I feel like a complete idiot.
Apparently, after I bought accubattery, I didn't notice that I had new options available in it's menu.
Someone must have turned the on.
For reference, anyone else who gets this - in Accubattery, open up the main menu and you have Overlay Settings. That's where you can enable or disable the overlay statistics.
The weird thing is that they will appear on top of everything, which can seen confusing, and rather annoying.
