So last week I flashed a French version of Pie because I was impatient with the UK not getting Pie.
Had issues with flashing with odin where it was stuck on odm.img and used a previous version which fixed the flashing.
Now i have downloaded a UK Pie rom, every time I press start to flash on Odin 3.12.7 it just restarts my phone and doesnt flash.
I want to go back to a UK rom so I can have OTA updates.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
I'm going to try to flash Oreo and see what happens, I may stay with Oreo as Pie needs a few things fixing such as Bixby, i've tried disabling from developer settings and its still coming on. Oero you were able to disable the button. Also my fast charger (not samsung, but reputable brand) is no longer recognised as a fast charger.

I Think you need Odin 1.13.2 because they change Something with Oreo and I heard Odin 1.13.x is onyl working, maybe try it with the newest version

Hey all,
I have followed the procedure to upgrade the firmware on my phone to Android by following the procedure listed here. I have run into some trouble however and now my phone won't boot.
I have tried flashing it with the firmware I5500LUYJP2 Android 2.2 - Froyo (USA) and I5500XWJPJ Android 2.2 - 2011 May (Europe).
The first time I flashed my phone it worked fine, but after flashing with MAD ROM v2.2.1 R6 (Final) found here, it just won't boot.
It gets to the Samsung logo then just hangs. I have tried re-flashing it multiple times but I always get the same result.
Odin always says PASS, even though the phone doesn't boot.
Hopefully someone can help because I really need my phone!
try downloading other firmware and flashing it. maybe it will fix it.
Try to use the April build of Froyo (Europe - April 1st).
Download I5500XWJPQ from SAMFIRMWARE
it will fix the problem
Hi,
Today I flashed my galaxy S3 to android 4.1.1, I already had jelly bean but the Poland firmware release. I re-installed the firmware but the UK version from SamMobile (Stock Version, Released On The 23/October) [Can't Post Links Untill 10 Posts] .
After flashing the firmware my phone won't seem to go past the Samsung boot screen, I have rebooted, battery pulled and also re-flashed the same UK 4.1.1 firmware but I still come across the same issue. I then played around with the phone wiping all its data and doing a factory reset, I then decide to flash back to the older jelly bean I was running (Poland) and it now boots up and displays a sense UI problem, I cant make calls and access a lot of other features like notification bar and app manager.
TL;DR: I Found The Problem, I Flashed My S3 By Clicking On Phone In ODIN And Not PDA :/ Is There Anything Else I Need To Do Since I Did Flash With Phone At First, Everything Seems Fine Now?
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Simon
Go to download mode

Hi,
I am running RR 5.8.3, v. from 23-04-17.
I was forced to set fluencetype for the past few flashes to null or something, because otherwise I did not have sound during calls.
Right now the call quality is unbearably bad. It was not THAT bad on older ROMs, before I had to disable this fluence-thingie.
I want to upgrade the ROM, but what else am I supposed to improve the voice quality? I could not find a decent source.
Factory reset -> VoLTE patch -> RR ROM -> GAPPS?
Anything else? Some people wrote "updade your firmware" - how am I supposed to interpret it? Install MIUI Rom? So, like flash it from TWRP and replace it with RR 2 minutes later? I am alergic to MIUI.
This topic kind of explains it, but links are down and content might be outdated:

Up
Up.
Right now I am stuck on a bootloop with rom's logo. I can access TWRP and flash stuff just fine, but I cannot load the system. Restoring from backup has failed.
I have installed 7.7.7 firmware - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298969813
and booted to the system. It did not recognize my PIN and locked my card. Unlocked it with PUK on another device, but still the same.
Flashed newest RR with GAPPS and reflashed the firmware. Bootlooping begun.
Tried different ROMs, tried a different firmware - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298969055
What should be the "next step"?
I was able to fix it, but man this was my last flash of this device. My next step was to brick the device, had to start from stratch after that. Never had so many different issues... I will rot on current ROM till Pixel 2 arrives.
Coming from an MM eXistenZ installation (not sure what exact version, i think it was 5.6.5 final) I wanted to upgrade to O or at least N.
I have tried RR-O builds 20180316 and 20180213, RR-N 20171020 Final, CR-O 20180316, CR-N 20170918, but the result is always the same.
I get a smoothly running installation with only one obvious quirk: Whenever there are no apps running and the screen is off, after some amount of time (sometimes instantly, sometimes after 10 minutes or more) i can either not turn the screen on again and my phone reboots, or it reboots by itself without me interacting.
The only way I can reliably prevent my phone from crashing is playing music (via Spotify), even when muting media sound. While charging the phone will not reboot as well, until it reaches 100%
I tried different performance modes, with high performance resulting in (subjectively) worse results, i.e. reboots after a shorter amount of time, and almost thought energy saving mode would have fixed the problem as it worked for about 20 minutes, but then it began to reboot again.
I am using TWRP 3.2.1-1 and tried with/without Magisk (16.0) and flashing MarrowKernel (O-0.6, N-0.6/0.5).
Before flashing I performed a full wipe and also replaced the SD card
Logs from RR-N-v5.8.5-20171020-sirius-Final with Magisk 16.0 and MarrowKernel 0.6

Please reflash Stock firmware via sony emma tool
This should help
Do not use existenz rom before switching to any custom rom reflash Always last stock and then update it to custom rom
Thank you, flashing stock firmware did the trick. Didn't work on the first try and my phone got stuck on the Sony bootscreen, but flashing the ROM a second time fixed the problem.
Running on RR-O now without any noticeable problems except for AudioFX crashing when sound starts/stops playing, but this should be fixed easily.

Hi Guru,
Do you recommend using Sony Emma Tool over Flashtool for flashing stock FTF ?
I would also like to try your ROMS, but I'm completely new on this device and not sure what to do when your installation instructions is to flash first stock ftf.
I wanna ask about Emma, does you recommend Emma for updating bootloader? I read in somewhere that if updating bootloader you cannot use stock ftf or restor TA backup cause it will kill the device. Is that true?

Sorry, I can't tell you as I continued flashing RR without having booted my phone in between and my TA partition is already lost since flashing the first custom ROM because I didn't know of it
Hi guys.
So I wanted to update my phone before my carrier pushed pie OTA. Everything seemed to work fine until the last part where Odin would just stop. I doesn't hang, but nothing happens. So I tried flashing the different parts one by one and it will consistently stop while flashing the home csc file. Anyone got any good tips on what to do to move forward?
Thanks!
