Hi folks, I'm trying to narrow down or confirm the cause of this kernel panic I'm experiencing on multiple S912 boxes while playing video 24/7.
We're playing video 24/7 on this specific S912 SoC, and occasionally we get a kernel panic from what appears to be the h264 decoder. I'm posting here so that someone with more kernel debugging experience might be able to confirm the cause, or tell us where we should focus our attention.

The issue can occur after 10 minutes, or after 20 hours, completely random it appears. The videos playing are 1080p MP4 x264 videos, which have no issue playing normally when this kernel crash isn't stopping them. Our application uses less than 5% CPU, and over a 24 hour memory profile we are stable at around 65MB ram.
We'd appreciate any feedback regarding this issue, and will answer any questions that may help us sort this out.

In response to my unresolved issue about tablet interfaces, I decided to (try to) root my tablet, however it's not working.
I tried possibly ever option on le google (and some here) but to no avail. Installed every program suggested on the net (unlockRoot, onclickroot, etc etc) as well as the necessary programs (SDK, ADB drivers etc) but it just seems it is impossible. So I turn my plead towards you, after two full days of struggling with this stupid thing.
How can I root my 4.0.3 ICS generic tablet?

Nobody? :'( It seems there are device specific roots only available (in exception to some apps that detect the given device) but roots have to be 'custom made', so is there a way to root the device myself? Like, from the ground up? I'm the kind of n3rd that can follow tuts, but not script
I've got the same problem. I've read several threads about using adb on a PC and pushing certain lines of code through in order to obtain root... but this is for gingerbread devices, not ICS. I'm beginning to feel like the more experienced devs here are a bit more than slightly prejudiced against the generics, no matter how decent they are.

It did not come with any of the standard Google Apps and the only app stores i could get out of the box was Amazon App Store or Get Jar. I found and installed the Google Play apk, but it closes as soon as i try to open it.
I might want to put a mod on it but not now. i just want to get all the standard google apps i just need a bit of help to steer me in the right direction.

I too have one of these and the device is not registered with Google. The app will never launch. If you have another Android device that does have Google Play working, you can use the File manager to backup your applications to .apk. Take these and put on a Micro SD card and mount on the Eclipse 4.3. Being ICS 4.0.3, the device runs most apps that I run on the other Android.. cj

I try to install Flash [MOD] FaaastJB v2.5 A13 Allwinner with Jelly Bean 4.2.2 by Toxicro using Livesuite and install TS drivers ektf2k.ko aka ekt3632+mma7660, the result i got "INVERTED SCREEN" touches. tried the Calibrators apk, and scrip-bin tool. but NOTHING WORKS.

WIFI integrated machine is not detected.
If an external wifi usb key is used, the connection works
Since version 3 REMIXOS, PERISCOPE the application is not working properly
The stream is not decoded while version 2 it worked again
or the screen is black or the image remains fixed when receiving the stream.
Broadcasting is no longer possible, the click on the button BROADCAST makes the application crash
in version 2, broadcast was possible but the stream was not exploitable.
The camera is well recognized and the picture is in the correct direction
