Has anyone successfully used Substratum and Andromeda to get an all back UI like on Samsung?
Question belong in the Q&A section.
I'm pretty sure Andromeda only works with Android Oreo. The only way to use Substratum on Android Pie is likely by rooting your phone.

You can actually get an all black UI with themes available on Huawei Themes (which is available in the Play Store). There are themes like Deep Black that you can download from XDA that also darken the notification shade but those themes didn't work right for me on all app notifications which is probably why the themes on Huawei Themes and other similar apps usually leave notifications unthemed.

Not sure if I should post this here or in the development section but might as well play it safe. Why is it all MIUI themes have to have some kind of ox around the app icons? The sense theme they have and all the others like honeycomb have the annoying box around them. Is there any way to make a theme for MIUI that doesnt have this?
Check out the new ICS Only One Rom it seems to run very smooth Im waiting on the ROM to finish downloading before I flash it but it look very promising and I looking forward to having the true 5.0 TouchWiz experience once I have given this Rom a try I will update this post with my experience on this ROM. There is a Link below where you can check it out and download the Rom yourself if you choose to.

Why you have to download from there? You can find this rom in the development section.

LOL funny thread, also funny was OP's reason for editing was had to make this thread a question...but still in the General sub and not the Q&A.
Anxious to try this out as my first rom - i rely on the tethering i get from my telus note - can anyone confirm if this rom has the tethering feature enabled??
Thanks all
I'm trying to get rid of touchwiz, not upgrade it.
It is smooth ROM. I haven't seen any application force closes yet..
One thing I saw is.. I added 9 screens on the TW. I lost an option of adding or removing screen. I'm now stuck with 9 screen. It is working all perfect though.
I cannot do the pinch on home screen which shows all my screen or Menu>edit.. TW force closes if I try..

One solution is I can go to Applications>All>TW>cleardata
I don't want to this because I don't want to spend more time organizing my homescreen.. It took few hours for me to organize.
Any other options please let me know..

Did you get a Note solely for its gigantic screen? I know one reason why most of us got this phone was for the S-Pen and the apps associated with it, and it can only work (at least smoothly without any issues) with the Touchwiz framework. That unless the CM team can incorporate it in their CM9.

I agree with you the ROM is very smooth I have never been much of a touch wiz fan myself but this ROM is definitely restoring my faith in touch wiz. Surprisingly I haven't had any fc either especially with S voice on other roms it did not play so nice IM wondering after a couple of days of use will lag build up i have notice this on allot of other ics roms I've used. You say you put allot of work in your home screen huh well let's see a screen shot.

Marshmallow theme is nice. *Must be rooted*
I can confirm the themes work if you rename the (.bin) to (.hwt) and place into /system/themes folder.
Thanks for those Themes! chui84 Here's redblackneo, MM, and Blackwhite. It changes icons, font, systemui, and dialer. Might help someone get used to EMUI a little.
I jump back and forth to Google Now launcher as I miss the app drawer. Other then that I don't dislike EMUI actually.
And I definetely Love this phone other than Hotspot restrictions that I am working on now.
Great find on these themes.

I tried redblackneo, changed most things, it didn't change systemui. I don't even see that in the "customize" menu in theme..... am I missing something?
that is something you cannot mix and match....
to word it differently:
Choose the theme you want based on the systemui.
Everything else can be mixed between any other themes you have installed.
My issue is I cannot get any customized network signals to work...
Battery themes.... Wifi themes.... Rotation lock themes.... Alarm themes... but that's it. How can I get some network signal love on here?
I have created a group on Google+ devoted to teaching and creating themes. Actually, there's a couple of groups on Google+ sharing themes.
And if you don't mind using translator, club.Huawei.com has themes in Chinese, they seem to almost all work fine.

Hello. If you are an all black ui fan, You can have it with swift installer. Swift installer isn't compatible officialy with miui, but it work excelent. Just get yourself swift installer [paid] from play store. Ofc you can get black apps with swift black for substratum, but you can theme only apps.
Tested on xiaomi.eu 9.11.14 [Q] - It might work with miui 11 based on pie. Test yourself.
If you have blank ui after reboot just reboot again and it will work.
Got inspired to try from this:

Screenshots:
This app needs root.
Sorry but I can't tell the difference between this and substratum. I'm using substratum with pitch black and works great. Can you explain please?

With most substratum themes you can theme only few system apps and user apps, you can't theme system ui and interface. However this app lets you do it and it works fine. Does these two overlays work with this theme? Like does it makes notification panel themed etc.
