I tested all the ports while connected to a Tab S4 and they all work including plugging in an ethernet adapter. This hub does not give the error "Close cover to run DeX" so the Tab S4 tablet does not need a keyboard or book cover to operate with this hub.
I have two ethernet adapters, both work when directly plugged into the S4 however only the 10/100 adapter works when plugged into the hub, the 1000g adapter lights up but does not work. I assume that the faster adapter requires more power than the Samsung adapter can provide.
Is there a Samsung certified power adapter with more capacity than the one that comes with the Tab?
USB C Hub HDMI 4K,7-in-1 Type-C Hub,with Power Pass Through,4K HDMI Output,TF SD Card Reader,3 USB 3.0 Ports,Aplomb Type c Splitter Adapter
Here is my DeX setup and everything used is listed in this thread aside from the monitor
As stated above, here is the compatible hub. USB C Hub HDMI 4K,7-in-1 Type-C Hub,with Power Pass Through,4K HDMI Output,TF SD Card Reader,3 USB 3.0 Ports,Aplomb Type c Splitter Adapter
Ordered this Ethernet adapter and it works great with the above hub. Anker 1g Enet adapter
I just received this stand for $10 on Amazon, great quality stand and much better than I expected. I decided to put the tablet on a stand for three reasons. First, it takes up less space this way, second, it allowed for a stree-free USB connection, and lastly, because I have DeX set up to extend my mouse off the right side of my monitor onto the left side of the tablet so I can use my mouse on the tablet as well.
I'm using a Logitech keyboard that I had, it's the 2.4ghz kind and the Logitech Unifying receiver is plugged into the hub.
The mouse is a Microsoft Surface Arc mouse that I bought for use with my Galaxy Bool.
The tablet is a Galaxy Tab S4.
It all works great but I don't know how much use this setup will get once the newness wears off

I know the dock will have 2 full size USB ports. But honestly I'd rather just have a little adapter that I can plug into it.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will have one so hopefully Asus or another brand will produce one to compete!
Would something like this do the trick?

Oh gawd! With this delay and endlessly searching for release times, I forgot about that
How about a dual Female A USB adaptor
Amazon: USB 2.0 Adapter Female A- Female A
...plugged to the cable adaptor that comes in the box?
The cable also has data connectivity for data transfer, it probably should do the trick.
I believe the HongKong electronic shops would come to the rescue. They are known to produce many useless converter before. I don't see why not this time. Probably straight from ASUS connector to USB.
I posted something on on Asus' Campus Life. Please his reply to it and respond requesting this accessory! Look for username Dean.

I hope they make something similar to the hinge on the keyboard dock, so it can actually latch on and has the two usb's and the SD slot, it would also make a nice grip when using the tf vertically. From the pics, what they have so far looks like it's going to stick out a lot and with something that big there is definitely more of a chance it will get knocked out and possibly damage the port.
Dont we have to have usb host support first for the transformer and dont we have to wait for honeycomb 3.1 for that?

Doesn't look so. And some people reported that Female A - Female A adaptors work for some devices (those that have their own power source probably) - there is a thread about it somewhere in this forum. I tried it but my pendrives nor mouse didn't work (there is probably no power line in the USB cable that is used for charging and connecting to computer).

Any ideas on release date to the USB adapter ? Pete
Is there a cable for the prime for USB host? I want a USB port but so far I can only find cables for the Galaxy tab or for micro USB ports. I don't want the keyboard dock, I have my laptop for computing. I just want a cable for it. So far I can only find the Asus dongle for the TF101(compatible right? Same proprietary port?), but that's only for an SD card, not a USB-female port.
Do you mean this? If you need to hook up a usb device to the prime, you need a dongle like the one below.

That's exactly what I meant, thanks! And sorry about that, fixed.
No problem

good question, i was looking at picking one of these up so i could use my ps3 controller with my prime's included charging cable.....
http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Female-5-Pin-Male-Adapter/dp/B002S7PS8M
USB female to mini-usb male.
would this work and do i really need to shell out for that box, i just don;t understand what exactly it does, i think for what i'm trying to do it should be fine, i could see the issues when trying to use a usb hdd as i could see more drivers needed to even access the data from the drive....i would think a ps3 controller would just show up....any suggestions or buying some extra box to carry around 100% necessary....

Bought this last week thinking the same thing.
Does not recognize devices. Something is weird about the dock cable.
I was trying to pair my PS3 controller, I ended up doing it with the keyboard port instead.
On a somewhat related note, I dont recommend you buy the item at that link. I ended up chucking mine out because it was too loose to hold the cables in... and its mustard yellow...eww
I've yet to confirm this myself, but I believe the dock connector uses different pins for "USB Host" (ex: plugging in a controller to the tablet) and "USB Device" (ex: plugging the tablet into a PC) modes. Using a USB Female-Female adapter, as others above have proven, will not work.
Wait...I spoke to soon, the link above is useless. It's backordered and I can't find it anywhere else. Anyone have an idea?
I got mine from microcenter, in tustin, ca. There might still be one there. And yea I first tried a female to female adapter on the usb charging cable it came with and no dice. However this adapter does work. Plugged my 360 controller in and played some shadowgun.
Does anyone know if there are USB microphones or headsets for the Rezound? I've looked online, and haven't found any that list the Rezound as being supported.
I'm working on a mobile dock for my car, and have the solution to get audio and charging from the single dock solved, but I would REALLY like to be able to have an audio input going through the usb as well. Otherwise, I'll just have to use a splitter plugged into the headphone jack.
We don't have USB host support yet, and even if we did it would take some crazy developing to get a driver and make a microphone work.

Thanks for the update. Essentially, this is what I'll have in my car. I may decide to fabricate my own dock instead of buying and modding one, but the concept is the same. I have an aftermarket radio with an RCA Aux input on the back, so I'm going to make/mod a car dock to sit in the empty pocket under the radio and connect to the aux in to serve as audio for GPS and streaming media. Charging portion will be connected to an isolated 12v step down converter to help avoid ground loops:
Here is the next project, to go in the accessory pocket under the radio.

So you want to use the MHL to play movies in the car?
Nah, I don't really care about that. It will mainly be for GPS and internet radio. I compete in sound quality stereo competitions and have some rta software on my phone that I use for tuning. I wanted the audio input to be connected to a mic cable that I can tuck away when not in use. Using the splitter isn't a big deal, but it would have been cool to have everything interface through one connection. I think its retarded that some HTC android phones support it and others don't.
The Rezound doesn't output audio over MHL, I am not sure if it is adapter related, or hardware related.
The sites for the adapters claim they do, and here's a forum writeup on them

Hello Guys,
I don't know is should start this thread or not, just thought i should share this amazing device.
Black MHL To HDMI HDTV Adapter OTG Card Reader Connection Kit
It let you connect to HDMI without external power, also if you use external power you can use HDMI and USB hard drive at the same time, it is just really really amazing, Sammy has really improved their MHL and OTG support.
Note: I am using this device on my Note 3 N9005 I am not sure about other devices

Black MHL To HDMI HDTV Adapter OTG Card Reader Connection Kit
Mhl 2.0?
Iv been dealing with these for about a year now. From my s3 to my note 3. With the s3 it's 2.0 so you have to provide external power but these things are the tits when it comes to the note 3 with 3.0 you can run USB and HDMI without power. I play games and use it for work with all wireless accessories it's awesome. Supports 1080p at 60hrtz. We sell them in our repair shop and on Ebay. Not often though as "normal" people don't see the capabilities of this lol.
Go buy one their awesome.

It's not immediately apparent, but the device pictured (and others like it, one of which I have) do have a port for charging: the micro usb. When I got mine it took me a minute to realize that, then it hit me that power would really be the only use for that port. So I plug one of my Sammy charging cables into it during use.

Oh, derp. I didn't even see the small port there, looked like a small microSD card slot. Thanks for pointing that out!

I know that the Nexus Player has a Micro-USB 2.0 port, but I've been successfully using a generic USB 3.0 hub / gigabit Ethernet adapter with my Nexus Player by way of a USB OTG cable.
This adapter has a Realtek RTL8153 10/100/1000M Ethernet controller that is meant for USB applications. It also has three available USB 3.0 ports. In Windows, it shows up as "Realtek USB GbE Family Controller" in Device Manager.
It's not supported with the original Android 5.0 Lollipop build, but it works fine with 7.0 Nougat and presumably 8.0 Oreo.
I got mine from eBay seller "photoadd" for $9.99 U.S.D. with free shipping. Here is the current eBay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/262668572762.

I hope this helps.
i'm waiting on a similar ethernet hub coming from china, but meantime i've found these micro usb adaptors excellent in cutting down on unnecessary wiring from the more common adaptors when plugging in a hub. fits perfectly with power cord and hdmi either side on NPlayer.
I need one of these that ships to canada. I would like the ethernet and usb combo so i can hook up a keypad for my nexus player.
