Disable OEM unlocking - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Hey guys,
Got a short question,I have Android Pie on my G965F,I flashed it myself.....question is can I disable OEM unlocking ? Will something bad happen ?
PS : I never enabled this option,I want to disable it because some applications that I use like Netflix acn't be found on Google Play Store since I bought the phone and now I'm finding out that my device is not Play Protect certified and I think this is the reason.
So will it brick my phone ? Or everyrhing will be back to normal ?
Thank you !

Solved it....If someone has a stock recovery and rom on SM-G965F and cannot install applications because OEM unlocking is turned on inside Developers options,it's safe to turn it off.
Notice :This will put your phone at factory settings,so backup.

Moto Z bricked OEM Locked

Hello friends of XDA, I have a big problem between hands, I have a MOTO Z and I had it in android 7.0 since last year the update to andorid 7.1.1 did not arrive and I felt that with android 7 the battery was consumed very quickly, so I tried to find the update to flash it and just about 3 days ago I found it, I proceeded to download it and flash it in fastboot and adb.
The thing is that a few months ago, browsing through my phone (I had already rotated it, and unlocked the bottloader, I decided to re-block the bootloader, and remove the root, which never worked at 100) I got into the developer options, and I saw an option that until then I didn't know about its "OEM Unlock"function, as it was turned on and deactivated because I thought it didn't work.
Returning to the update flashing I proceeded as usual, with the commands, I proceed to restart the device and show the image of the boot of motrola but then it shows me a message in red letters.
"Startup Failed"
"failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot.
I thought it was a compatibility problem with the downloaded version of 7.1.1 so again I decided to flash the stock rom 7.0 but when I finished and restart the same message appeared.
I started to investigate and it seems that the OEM blockade is responsible for not being able to install any Stock Rom, or anything, and now I have a nice brick with Moto mods and I can't use it.
I wanted to unlock OEM in fastboot but nothing. sends message from "ALLOW OEM UNLOCK IN SETTINGS"
There is way to unlock the OEM from pc or fastboot without needing to be unlocked from the android settings, as in my case it is impossible for me,
I'd be very grateful for your help friends, I know it's a bit tedious to read but it's the only phone I have and I feel weird without it on the street.:bueno::bueno::llorando:

Try to boot in Fastboot flash twrp and flash ressurection remix rom. It's great rom. Forget about locking. I had the same problem like you as I was trying to flash stock ROM and lock bootloader.
I gave up on this.

Well, when the root didn't work properly, I flashed the phone again and blocked the bootloader. Will I still be able to install TWPR or should I lose my phone?

What do you mean with "I blocked my bootloader"?
Twrp is easy to flash. Root is integrated in ressurection remix rom. And this rom is great. Just try to flash twrp in Fastboot and than ressurection remix with twrp.
Can you boot in Fastboot?
Do you remember what build of 7.1.1 you had on your device before downgrading to 7.0?
If so, I would suggest finding that firmware (the full stock firmware, not OTA updates) or newer if you can, and try to flash that. Since your bootloader is still likely from the 7.1.1 build, a locked bootloader will only permit files matching the same patch level (i.e. from the exact same stock ROM as that bootloader patch) to boot.
If not, then unfortunately there's not a lot we can do. You could wait for a newer firmware to get leaked, but as your device is unable to boot (due to failing the bootloader checks) and you cannot toggle OEM unlocking because you cannot boot, it's a nasty vicious circle that is difficult to get out of. You may have to consider sending your device for service and pay for an expensive motherboard replacement otherwise, since Motorola have a record of your device being unlocked. Your service centre experience may vary.
Only lock a bootloader after ensuring you've flashed all the stock firmware and it is all the same patch level as your bootloader. Hopefully you'll find newer firmware that you can repair with.

I solved it, I finally flashed the stock rom to my phone and it works.
Apparently my pc was not flashing the stock rom in adb, and the phone turned off when loading the software. I did it 3 times until I load correctly and start well.
if you have the same problem apparently then OEM Blocking is not responsible. You have to flash the most current rom or the one that you had by default when the brick happened to you, you flash it in a normal way with commands of adb and ready, I would have to come back to life.
download from firmware center MotoZ Griffin the most current rom stock at 7.1.1

Thanks for your help friend, I finally flashed it with a recent android 7.1.1 update. Apparently the OEM lockout was not the culprit, but it was an interrupted flash of android 7.1.1 at some point when loading the software to the phone, it would shut down on its own and not complete the installation, which showed me the mentioned message. I didn't realize that and thought it was the OEM blockade.
I finally did it on another pc and it worked. the phone came back to life.

-[ HOW TO LOCK BOOTLOADER Without loosing ROOT ?? ]-Google PAY unusable-XPERIA rooted

Hi everyone
I will try to introduce my story, please I need some help:
I have a Xperia 10 , Android 9.0 , it was Rooted through Magisk and everything is fine...notwithstanding, Google Pay does not work..,
Then, I hid root with xposed+Rootcloak to hide it successfully, but Google pay does not still work , now the reasong showed on the screen is because the bootloader is unlocked.... so I definitely want to Lock it again.
In many devices if you lock the bootloader again you wont be able to modify your phone but the root will be activated at least.
HOWEVER, in Xperia devices ( bq and xiaomi seem to be the same) if you lock the phone again this process elimitates everything when you do it..., the phone resets everything erasing all .... and loosing the root as well....
So , Is there any chance to lock my xperia 10 without loosing root???? How Could I do it????
Many thanks in advance for your invaluable support and help.
Kind regards

How to unlock bootloader on Huawei MediPad M6 10.8"?

Hi,
I've recently bought a Huawei M6 10.8". Unfortunately, it doesn't have Google Play (and the rest of the services). I'm trying to install it to it, tried to ask how to do it without unlocking the bootloader, didn't get an answer (probably because it's not possible). I've been reading and got mixed answers if the bootloader is unlocked I lose the warranty. I've read through the policy, didn't seem to find anything about that, so I assuming it's not the case. Either way without Google Play (and co.) the tablet is quite useless, I'll have to open the bootloader, get TWRP on and flash OpenGapps or similar.
I've been trying to follow this guide, but after issuing:
Code:
fastboot OEM unlock
...I get permission denied with Factory Reset Protection (FRP) locked. When I go the developer options, there is a grayed out "Enable OEM unlock" option, but it doesn't allow me to switch it on. I know the password and everything, but how can I disable that FRP Lock? The internet is full with options when I don't know the password (none I tried seem to work). Please help, thanks!

The official bootloader unlocking method for Huawei device was stopped by the company pretexting they wanted to guarantee a bug-free experience and that ROM-flashing and other modification ruined the experience : https://www.xda-developers.com/xda-huawei-decision-stop-bootloader-unlocking/
That was back in 2018, there are still unofficial methods to unlock bootloader, but I won't because they're all paid methods by some shady apps.
So if guess that's why OEM Unlock is greyed out, and even if it isn't, when you'll try to unlock the bootloader, it'll request a code that you don't have...
Sorry man, the moment Huawei stopped allowing users to mod their Android device was the moment I started to hate them. What is this, Apple ?
Wow sorry, I got carried away, please don't ever get me started on that lol.
Hope you'll still have a good day
Both my wifey and me have a Huawei phone in use. We use the phone as it is meant to be used by OEM. We aren't interested in modifying anything on them because they have all the features we wanted to have. We don't want to transform them to another one because we don't see any advantage in doing so. Those Huaweis for us are a tool, not a toy.
We knew what we buy.
Thanks for the info Raiz. You mention some "shady apps". Which is the most trusted out of them? Thanks
@antivirtel
To install Google Play on devices where it is missing it's not required that device's Android got rooted or device's bootloader got unlocked. If people say it has to be like this, they're idiots.
The Google Play package consists of at least 4 APKs that install as user-app:
1. Google Account Manager APK
2. Google Services Framework APK
3. Google Play Services APK
4. Google Play Store APK
Knowing this you've to download the 4 APKs matching your phone's Android version and OEM and install them . APKMirror is probably your best bet for trusted Google Play Store APKs.
After you reboot, you’ll find the Play Store and Google Settings shortcuts on your home screen. Tap “Play Store” and you’ll be able to sign in with an existing Google account or create a new Google account.
It may not appear to work normally after you sign in, but just give it some time. The Google Play Store and Google Play Services will automatically update themselves in the background. This may take as much as ten minutes.

Hi,
Actually none of them, because they're all paid method. Don't try that please. You can try what jwoegerbauer suggested and see if it works, but please don't pay something to root your phone, it is very unsafe and may be a scam (most of the time it is).
Have good day

@ladlabaloch512
Perhaps your device has the same "OEM unlock" block like mine.
On mine I was supposed to wait 7d after turning on dev options.
I bypassed that by
1. switching to airplane mode
2. Setting manually date back one month
3. Restart (still in airplane mode)
4. Turning off airplane mode and let it sync date
and voila OEM unlock option was there.
Perhaps that works on your device as well.

Keep us updated.. I'd like to get my OEM unlock to come out of hiding.. this is frustrsting.. i see all these tutorials for the A02s root, twrp and ROMs and whatnot and I'm itching to get flashing!
Is it possible to flash an unlocked carrier firmware in ODIN and then be able to unlock OEM? Without carrier issues or anything? I'm a little nervous to be the first to try.. and not sure where to find US unlocked carrier firmware or if location even matters... I have the SM-A025AZ (US Cricket variant).. I guess as long as Download Mode (fastboot) is still accessible I could just flash the Cricket version back to the device.. bricked my LG-E980 back in the day.. took me a few months how to get it back up and running with LG flash tool.. i just dont want to repeat that fiasco lol... so anybody got any updates on hacking this OEM (un)lock bs??? Or any idea on flashing some other variant to the device without interrupting carrier stuff??.. seems like alot just to get a damn virtual switch to turn on.. but damnit I need root access! Lol.. about to just exchange this phone for an actual rootable phone.. i disagree with charging for hotspot.. that should be illegal.. getting charged twice to use th same bs internet.. eff that.. i just want Rooooooot!!!
Hello,
I have also been having these troubles, with no way to unlock oem after stock flash, and the closest I've got to finding a solution was this, but I simply cannot find samsung's bootloader unlocking form like it says in the guide. I bought my phone just for a bootloader unlockable version (A025M), and now I am very angry at samsung.
also, since over a 1000 hours have gone by since last post, have any one of you solved this issue just by waiting?

its not only samsung that does this, many other companies like motorola does this. Dont be angry, just try a different device. Also, snapdragon US models (i dont think) arent able to be unlocked. If its a mediatek model and isnt sim/carrier locked, u can try MTKClient

Question A02S SM-A025G - Google Pay, McDonald's application doesn't work (Root problem)

Hello recently I tried to root my phone, wanting to fix ghost touch, I did something wrong and the phone stopped working, "Only official binary blah blah blah ..." popped up during startup, I decided to reinstall the official stock, the phone started working normally, even ghost touch repaired, I looked at the Root Checker application if I have root, it turned out not, which is all right, but when I want to add the card to google pay or open McDonald's applications, I get a message that the phone is rooted or was somehow rooted modified, what can I do in such a situation, please help me, I tried to install other stocks from other operators and restore the phone to factory settings: _ (
I saw one solution, probably in this forum where someone wrote to enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging then disable and enable again, something like this, but I don't see OEM Unlock in the developer option, I know that with a failed root attempt, I somehow unlocked this option, but I don't remember how and I prefer someone to help me as best as he can, because I don't want to break anything anymore, I just want Google Pay to start working for me
OEM is probably hidden cause your device isnt older than 7 days. Connect to wifi and enable automatic time and date, than disable once done set the date atleast 7 day forward and oem should appear but you will have to lock ur bootloader before you disable oem and if you are running a custom firmawre make sure to backup data if you wanna go to normal firmware
But I use official firmware from some Samsung firmware site, i think my bootloader is locked, anyway do you have any solves to make work google pay?
I tried to unlock OEM but this solution with data & time doesn't work for me.
Hey, when I go to Google Play Shop there is an information that my device isn't certified, I tried to register my ID Device and still doesn't work can It be a problem, because of that Google Pay doesn't work?

before you do this if odin says you are in custom mode backup all your data before doing this. no it wont automatically, first you have to go to odin mode and hold up for a bit until the screen shuts and shows the question (do you wanna lock your bootloader) you select yes once done if you are on custom it will bring up only odin mode before anything thats where u flash firmware, now that should get rid of the root, and then if u wanna disable oem connect to wifi disconnect date and time unselect automatically and go 7 days ahead and the option will appear.
How to check if i have custom mode and what i have to hold up?? please explain better because i don't know what i have to do
