Hello everyone, before I decide to create a topic in the community I want to report that I tried "everything" to solve my problem, I searched the internet for solutions and nothing, I believe that I will have a light here.
My moto x4 device with android 9 is recognized by the pc when it is on, but in fastboot mode the pc is unable to recognize it, I have already downloaded all the necessary drivers, tested on two different PCs, used all the USB ports, installed the ADB and FASTBOOT, gave the command via cmd to restart in the fastboot, but it simply seems that nothing I do is able to fix this, in the device manager the following information appears:
unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)
I've tried to update and uninstall, but nothing happened too, remembering that when the device is on it works perfectly on USB.
My operating system is windows 10.

Hello!
I was trying to downgrade a Moto E XT1021 and I don't remember how but I ended with the phone stucked in the "bootloader unlocked" screen.
Tried to access the phone on the fastboot flash mode and I can get into the mode by pushing volume down and power on for a few seconds. The problem is that I'm not able to send command to the phone because adb or fastboot doesn't detect it.
The USB cable seems to be working because on the phone screen you can read USB connected and USB disconnected every time I connect or disconnect the cable.
My guess is that there's a problem with the drivers, I've tried everything, of course installing the MotorolaDeviceManager_2.5.4.exe was the first step and then I ended up trying adb-setup-1.4.3.exe and also adb-setup-1..3.exe with no luck. I'm using Windows 7 professional 64 bits.
Right now phone driver says: Android Composite ADB interface.
Hardware ID is USB\VID_22B8&PID_2E80
If I remove the driver the device with no driver says "fastboot condor S"
I want to install 4.4.4 on that phone.
What can I do?
Thanks!
I solved it

at least provide the solution if anyone comes wandering again with the same problem
I really don't know why it worked, but I had several folders with adb, fastboot and firmwares and ona of the folders with fastboot detected the phone, I tried the other folder and that version of fastboot didn't detected the device; really weird.
Same software, same dll's but in different hard drives, the one on the C drive worked and the one in the D drive didn't detect the phone.
As I said, really weird.
Hello,
I am left with a OPX with no ROM, and no bootloader (after trying to upgrade TWRP). It shows the Oneplus icon, and Fastboot mode works.
I'm trying to access the device through adb or fastboot, but my computers can't detect nothing.
I installed Qualcomm drivers, ADB & Fastboot, Oneplus USB drivers. I tried to connect my OPX with Fastboot, and with "volume up" plugging (as shown in the mega unbrick guide), nothing shows up in the device manager.
What can I do ?
Thank you very much.
NOTE : I was not in developer mode on the last ROM installed ...
Since fastboot works it seems that your PC or maybe the conection might be the problem here.
Have you tried different cables, USB ports, different computers or different Operating Systems?
Could your MicroUSB Port be broken?
( You could give Ubuntu a shot. It might take a little time to install, but it's free and if you can save your phone with it it could be worth the time. You can also unbrick your device under Linux once you successfully connect it in EDL mode. )
I am trying to root my old phone Samsung Galaxy core prime G360h so that I can gain some confidence to change the stock rom of my main device. When the phone is on, adb works perfectly and recognise the device. I can even reboot device when the phone is unlocked. But once I go into Fastboot/Recovery mode then ADB fails to find the device and no commands work(.To the best of my knowledge, I have all the necessary drivers. I have tried multiple USB slots, multiple computers (Windows 7 sp1 and Windows 10 latest update), and have searched all around the internet and various forums on XDA for an answer. I've tried manually updating the USB drivers through device manager, installed universal usb driver, but that did nothing. What I don't understand is that how ADB works when the device is on but don't work when it's in Recovery/Fastboot mode. I would have post images to clear things but the site is not letti g me to post imaves
tldr: adb recognize phone when it's on but Adb don't work in fastboot/recovery mode
Thanks in advance for any help, I've tried everything I can think of.
On MediaTek devices you need Preloader VCom Driver so your PC would detect your phone on fastboot but on Qualcomm ( which is your phone chipset ) i don't know what driver is required ...
Hi, I have a problem that my PC doesn't recognize my POCO F1 in FASTBOOT mode.
I'm running Win 10 64bit (Core i7-3517U), my phone is Global stable 11.6.0. bootloader is NOT unlocked and there is no root.
The main problem: When I try to connect my phone in FASTBOOT mode to my PC and go to System Manager it shows an exclamation mark, not a question mark like it would if you just didn't have the drivers. It also says "The device has been stopped (Code 43) (the other error codes are in the attachments given below) A request for the USB device descriptor failed." I guess this means it's not a simple matter of missing drivers, even if my phone is connected normally, it does not show up or connect to the Mi PC Suite. Normally, if you plug in a new device without drivers, Windows at least recognizes whether it's a printer, headset, mouse or whatever and starts looking for appropriate drivers, but not here.*Whenever I put my phone on FASTBOOT mode, it never gets recognised it just shows an exclamation with a dialogue box that says that "The last USB device you connected to the computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it" (screenshots provided in the attachments below with normal my phone on normal mode and fastboot mode please go through them)
What I have already tried based on my previous research, but with no success:
different computers, windows and Mac
different usb cords
usb debugging on/off
all usb modes (MTP, file transfer etc.)
usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports
re-installing Mi PC suite
resetting my phone
resetting my Windows 10 pc
and none of the above seem to work.
I also spoke with a friend and tried connecting their phone (Redmi Note 5 Pro) on fastboot mode to my Windows Pc and the Mac and it works!
but my POCO F1 does NOT get recognised.
I live in Pune, Maharashtra in India
and there's a huge lockdown, like there is, all over the world
I can't actually go out and visit a service center and fix this anytime now. i need some serious urgent help on this, I'm willing to do anything to fix this at home. I just need assistance and i need some sort of external guidance. Please, please help me with this matter.

Try connecting to a Windows 7 PC instead of Windows 10, and install the drivers

Was it ever resolved ? I had similar issue with my POCO F1. it was working fine in ADB but not getting detected in FASTBOOT. Every time I connected it in fastboot it showed a message USB device not recognized. drivers and all were fine. Code 43 was also there in device manager.
I was able to fix it by using Bugjaeger Premium on my spare Samsung rooted android 10 phone with OTG since my spare phone has micro USB.
POCO F1 was also not getting detected first then I did a factory reset, and MIUI recovery wipe and simply disconnected the cable and rebooted poco f1 using volume down and power button and voila it got detected in my samsung phone then i flashed TWRP.
Hey everyone
I'm trying to unlock the bootloader on my Mi A3 (M1906F9SH running stock A11), but for some reason my computer (Windows 10) isn't recognizing it. It doesn't even show in device manager. "adb devices" doesn't identify it as being connected either. Having the phone on, in fastboot or in recovery makes no difference (in recovery it shows the "no command" error). I've tried 3 different usb cable and 3 different usb ports.
Ive tried reinstalling adb drivers, qualcom drivers, ran the 15 seconds ADB installer (again). Tried to add it as a legacy device in device manager but nothing worked.
Then I tried using Linux (sepcifically mAid) but it didnt recognized my phone either.
I recently installed a custom ROM on my poco x3 (and I did so a couple of times in the past with different phones) but it was never this difficult. I honestly don't know where to go from here.
Am I missing something?
