Hello . I have a problem(?) when im trying to install custom rom on my device .
I have installed twrp and when i tryed to install a rom an error appear "This rom is for mido , your device is." and that is all .
So i dont know know what is mido and google wont help . So from adb i got some info about my phone .

Can anyone explain me what is all about ? I am very comfused with this .

My phone is not 4x . But take a look at lineageOs http://prntscr.com/mbyg2o
they have deferent categories . so i thought that i am on mido .
And another one thing is , when i made a backup the folder name it have the word mido http://prntscr.com/mbyiak

Find your device's codename and download the rom for it.

Mido is device codename for xiaomi redmi note 4/4x Qualcomm based, if you're flashing something zip file through recovery and that zip file have requirement for only flash for specific decide then you should have this problem when your device not meet requirement.
And please go to Q/A Section for any proper Q/A, thank you.

Your twrp is show mido as codename, is obviously redmi note 4/4x with snapdragon chipset. Just for simply, if your device is redmi note 4/4x with snapdragon chipset then you're mido, but if you've MTK chipset then you're nikel

I cant believe this mate . i tryed to install orangefor twrp 8.3 and boom , black screen and nothink working . I reinstalled orangefox v8.2 and boom everythnk was working perfect ! after that i was able to install all roms that is for mido . I think there was some king of bug in original twrp becase when i was trying to install from there i always had some errors ..

You want to change your model and then install a new rom. Give honor multi-tool a try and see if it works.
usually al10 models are for china and only differ in some areas than the regular models,,
if your processor and screensize and resolution matches, you can undoubtedly flash a rom that is made for regular models..
better try out..

If u had unlocked the bootloader , u can flash the system ,boot and cust images of Tl00 on al10

If he fake build number , update is which patches the files . patch is done based on md5 match , even though he does fake the build number , updater will end up with numerous errors and ends in bootloop if it patches kernal and bootloader .
So beware while playing or suggesting someone . it's like hurting their phones Indirectly .

Good .. I had the same incident with my Moto G . at first , Moto G gpe version got the lollipop update and the dual sim variant should convert their variant to single sim . We actual did is converted our normal Indian version to a gpe version .
At that moment , I thought to flash the idiotic ota update which arrived for the gpe version .
As usual , we found the mismatch of build number and the flashing ended with error 7 (hope u know what error 7 mean ) , and I thought to edit build.prop or else the updater-script in update.zip .
I did it and ended up with a bricked phone .since whole Moto G firmware is flashable via fastboot , Thank God that was a life saviour .

Thank, the main idea was about changing rom or not ( so keeping stock will be safer for u and ur warranty , start with unlocking might void ur warranty and u cant stop with unlocking step , so starting is a risk and u consider that . )

Hey rehanM can you tell me, that the flame6 twrp which you ported to flame7 device, Do you know who build it or his github account???

By the way I am 'ahtesham malik'. And I am a little developer. I was working on Galaxy star advance sm-g350e. But now my sm-g350e is no more. I have builded many Roms for sm-g350e. For example- cm11, cm12.1, cm13.0, cm-rr-lp, slim-lp...
But now I am working on flame7 (ld0130). And now I am building cm12.1 for this device. But I am facing a little problem in build process. Because LYF device has no kernel source. And our flame7 device is sprd based phones and building rom for sprd device without having kernel source, it's hard for me.
A good news for LYF flame 7 users. I builded CM12.1 for ls-4006 and it's successfully booted on our flame 7 (ls-4006).
But there are a lot of bugs in the ROM. So I will upload it later after fixing some bugs.
Only one thing is good in the rom, that the performance is too good.

And here is the status of ROM bug.
1) Bluetooth not working
2) default browser giving fq (but other browsers working good)
3) hotspot not working (but wifi work)
4) inCall screen can't switch to handfree mode.
What's new
No more battery drain and also device not being heat, like stock rom. And performance is too good with huge amount of free RAM.

Both devices running same kernel. It will also work on flame 6. You only need to do little port. And it will successfully boot. If you try it without porting, it may also boot. But something will not work like camera because flame6 camera is 3mp and flame7 has 5mp.
And sorry I can't share device tree. Because It's very hard to build custom ROM for a sprd device without having kernel source.

I have built many Roms for MTK phones and twrp for flame 6, which is a SPD phone.
I know how to port and what happens if I don't port.
Just give the rom ... It's a humble request. I'll try to port to Flame 6 and fix bugs. If I would be able to fix, I'll surely share the fixes with you.

Try to port with lenovo a6000 i think it will work. Bcoz somone ported color os oppo neo 7 a33f stock rom to lenovo a6000

I need to flash my micromax q402+ because it is locked by a company to use specific sim. Since it is a spreadtrum SC9832 device I found it's stock rom with .pac extension. I tried flashing with SPD tools but no luck. It is giving "UART send error"
What are the other methods to flash?
Please guide me with other methods of flashing.

You need to download its modified rom by (cg sky) (different H/W 5.0 & S/W 3.0). You can search for this rom in net.
I have downloaded it somewhere in net , gsmdevloper site(i m not sure).

But the google drive file is of 1GB while the ROM in your seperate thread is of 700MB. Which one to use?

the rom in link is origional stock rom(PAC format) of cg sky phone . in case of anything goes wrong to your device then you can simply flash this rom in Research download tool. (the rom ,which your device currently running with locked jio sim)
And the ROM i have ported is official stock rom of micromax q402 + without any resrtiction of jio sim and internet.
that is the difference.

this error happens because the software is not compatible to its modified hardware and software version.

if you want unlocked rom than you follow the instruction in my thread.
if the procedure is in my thread is not understandable or look boring to you ,then i will make a simple ROM with PAC extension so it can easily flashable with Research tool. But it need unlock bootloader (you can follow my other thread for instruction)
for you i will make another thread for RDT for pac format rom

I had unlocked the bootloader long time ago. I will follow the steps for flashing ported ROM.

You also need patched boot.img to boot the Rom. You have to patch your boot.img to remove dm-verity & force encryption(for twrp only)so it can load ported OS.
You can patch your boot.img manually or magisk method.

Ver 1.1 is out there you can check in my thread. You can see the changlogs.
And another good news is i have successfully ported evercross m50 star Rom to this device (micromax q402+) this rom is theme supported and nice looking very smooth UI.
Everything working flawlessly . I will make new thred or update previous. ( upload soon)

Sorry to say you but that file is uploaded by someone else .I have just shared it here.modified ROMs are ported and shared by me. The link you have asking for is cg sky rom. That is the original stock ROM comes preinstalled.
bro link is still working.
I have created this guide using my Acepro so all is done real-time and hope it will help others to convert their devices.

After I bricked my phone, I was able to solve it and also transform it.
I came to this step and then it didnt work correctly as it should be.
The command "fastboot flashing unlock" didnt work.
i have update the Drivers as you showed in video.

Check fastboot version with fastboot --version. Maybe you're using a version that is too old.
