Hey guys. My efs is corrupted after I tried to restore the whole system from twrp from my external sd card. I can´t do anything with my phone (no format,no wipe...etc.)
Could anybody with a SM-G950f create a backup of the efs section with twrp and send it to me? This question may sound weird, but I really think that could help me to restore my corrupted/deleted efs folder..
Thank you so much

if i have that files on my phone it means that i have an efs backup? the files appeared when i installed a custom rom i think or smthing
sry for the noob question and my english
Some rooms have an automatic function to backup the EFS folder to the sdcard or extsdcard, so if you have that folder inside the sdcard or extsdcard then it is a backup, cause the original EFS folder must be inside the root filesystem
Seeing the location of the files, looks like it is a EFS backup. :good:
Hi all,
need to ask a couple of questions regarding the EFS backup.
1) If i use the kTool for EFS backup and do a total wipe before flashing custom ROM, (mounts and storage>format system) will the EFS backup also get wiped out? My common sense tells me yes since the internal SD will be wiped out and kTool saves the EFS files on the internal SD but just want to be sure so that i can search an alternative method for backing up as i want to flash custom ROM with total wipe.
2) Does the EFS Pro app save the EFS backup on the internal SD only or does it have an option to save on ext SD card?
3) Do i just have to be rooted to backup my EFS files? Im just asking as im terribly obsessed my EFS files will get corrupt while rooting the phone! Is there a simple way to backup my EFS files on my ext SD card without root?
4) Can my EFS files really get corrupt just by rooting my phone?
Thanks in advance for any feedback

I know nothing about EFS backup but how about this. I assume you have access to a PC and the usb cable that came with the fone. Or else you do have a microsd card in the fone. Why don't you do the backup and copy the files to either the microsd card or a PC. That way you know you have a backup you can use.
In most cases, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, the format system will not touch your backups.

Yes very true, i can also do that and it also crossed my mind but im afraid that by doing so, copying the EFS files and folders onto a PC or directly to the ext SD card will alter the files and folders in a way that they cannot be restored and i dont want to take that risk unless im totally sure of what im doing or if this can actually be done.
Thanks just the same for ur feedback
Ok so I just found out that with EFS Pro I can backup on my pc safely. Do I need to be rooted to use this app and safely backup the efs files?
Thanks
Hi I recently install CM 10.1, I backup my personal files and also made backup via CWM after this I install CM and erase everything I wanted to have a clean start, after doing this I remember, i did not backup my voice recordings they were in the "sound" folder, if i restore the CWM backup is possible to recover this files????
Greetings!
Sorry no as these are on your SD card you deleted. Cwm bk up saves data not SD card. Personal files you bk up was sound file no?
The "sound" folder was in the internal sd saddly i never backup that folder. I already try to restore with out succes it says error during the restore, but i guess im trying to restore something will not get my precious files back
Hey guys, i have a rooted galaxy s3..its running on cm12 i made backup of efs folder to be safe...i have a tar.md5 file and an img file of efs......i would like to know if i lose efs of my phone how can i restore it using there two backups..? thanks in advanced also i have copied my efs folder too to sd card
You can restore the same way you backed it up or take a backup with philz recovery from advanced backup and restore it same way or if you just copied your whole efs folder, you can paste it back with a root explorer
Hello
After flashing cm13 on my s3 my IMEI was lost. Now I can´t restore my efs folder with my TWRP backup.
I have the efs.ext4.win , efs.ext4.win.md5 and efs.info files but dont know how to restore them on my device.
Pleas help me !
Should be simple: tick restore, choose backup file, tick efs. Don't touch the single files.
I tried but twrp does not show the backup folder on the sd card.
Do i have to zip the backup folder ?
As I said: don't touch the backup-files. Did you store your backup on internal storage? You can change storage within backup /restore procedure.
No i stored them on the sd then ticked restore from sd.
Now i move it to the internal storage. Maybe tis works.
didn´t work ether
Means: TWRP doesn't find the backup?
create new backup using twrp (example boot partition) and copy to that folder yours efs files backup, its should work
or try restore using other recorvery arter97
