I want to root my Xperia X and i want to install and see things like Sony theming engine, XZ2 lockscreen clock, music earphones selection, rotate title at navigation bar, new phone and Contacts app, substratum theming engine, changing power off UI to new android pie, magisk manager and things that can be done on a rooted X.
I want you guys to please explain in a simple understandable way how to root Xperia X dual. I seen the method but i am unable to understand it. In ZR i just used a app to root it but in X it's very long process and i am feeling like i will brick my device with in 5 minutes. Can i use my stock DRM keys after rooting?
Someone please post step by step method
Also please share apps and things you guys using on your device.
I use YOUTUBE VANCED, KIWI BROWSER instead of YouTube and Chrome. I changed my smallest width to 475 in developer optins. I use Xblack teal theme for X shaped button on home page for viewing apps.
I use More shortcuts app to use app activities. I am using Sony Phone apk v10 and latest Sony Contacts app from apkmirror site and of last i am using XZ2 icons pack ?

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING FORCE AN INSTALLATION OF GOOGLES USB ANDROID DRIVERS! Im using a xperia x single sim and Sony drivers didnt work......To force an Installation just go to YouTube and type "force driver installiert Windows"......after you forced the drivers download flashtool for xperia (not the original from their Website) and press the BLU button (that stands for bootloader unlock) after that do what the program instructs you To.....then press the " Get key" button and scroll all the way down until you can See "imei or" something else similar.... Ofcourse select your phone first in the list (blue box)....... If you typed your imei and selected your phone press continue.you will See a code copy it and put it into the empty flashtool box. Then press ok in the Programm. And wait........ After that you will get a message in your phone that your phone is unlocked and "cant be trusted" this is the sign that you can now do all the "Cool stuff" so i recomend for a first timer using the flash recovery button in flashtool (trust me it helps) then download and select the TWRP recovery...wait......(oh yes i forgot To mention reboot To fastboot again by turning the phone off.... Holding the Volumen up button and then connecting the USB cable whilst Holding volume up) press OK
After that disconnect From your PC and wait for the blue light To go off...) after that you press and hold Volume down and power until you See the Sony Logo. If you See the orange triangle hold all buttons you have except camera button....screen turns off then release Volume up and continue wirh volume down....after that you should See TEAMWIN and two arrows.when you See this you did everything right. MAKE SURE TO JUST SWIPE DO NOTHING ELSE. After that press backup and select system and boot...wait.... So now everything is safe just please NEVER DELETE THIS BACKUP! Its your stock Rom.....then you all done! Get loneage OS 15.1 for a good Start and dont forget gapps nano or pico! Bye i hope i could hell you!

I want to install on Wildfire theme. I read somewhere saying that the key power button & Home together with key press when the phone is off. But will not be clear and the phone!
I also had read here that the key power button center together withjoystick press. The work is well done but came to a page to boot. And her page that says to install the template did not!

1. Sorry, I don't know this key combination too...
2. Search for any CM7 Theme on the market/Android Themes section. Download it, install it, go to Theme Chooser App and apply it. But I don't know how to create a theme, sorry too.
3. Search for ''Boot Animation 240x320'' in Google or here in the forum, download it, rename it if it's not named as bootanimation.zip, use Root Explorer, go to /system/media, paste and replace the existing one. Long press, go to Permissions, and make it look like this:

X is selected, - is non-selected.
Press Ok, reboot and enjoy your new boot animation.

Those themes, you have to be sure that it's made for you for ROM, because any thing wrong with the framework-res.apk, your phone won't boot.
If you know how to install update.zip using CWM Recovery, just jump the following guide, if not, read it.
After you make sure of that, download it, put in the root of your SD Card (it's better, but not needed), boot in CWM Recovery (using power menu, reboot, recovery) or turn off your device, turn it on again, and when it's starts the screen before the boot animation (called SE logo, or splash screen by most guys), spam like crazy the Back button.
When the Recovery appear, use:
Volume up: Goes up
Volume Down: Goes Down
Home button: select the highlighted option
Back button: goes one menu back.
Ok, recovery appeared, press volume down until you reach: Install update.zip from SD Card. Press home button, press volume button once, chose: Chose update.zip from SD Card, and press volume up until you reach the desired theme you want to apply, press home button, volume down, home button. Your theme will be installed, it takes about 30 sec to 1 min with me.
Press back button, ultin you reach the first menu, select the first option: Reboot system now
The phone will reboot, wait a while, it may take 1 or 2 minutes more as usual to boot and... voilá!!! Enjoy your new theme.

So thanks to Netflix and its implementation of security net I wanted to install Magisk on my Z2.
Im running the stock 6.0 Rom which was just rooted with supersu.
My tab was charged 80+%
I uninstalled SuperSU, went to TWRP and flashed Magisk.
After flashing the screen stayed black. Nothing at all.
Long press power gives me one vibration after 3 seconds but nothing else.
Long press power & vol - gives me the same vibration
Long press power & vol + gives me nothing
Connecting the tab to the computer gives me nothing. No device recognised (no adb, no fastboot)
Connecting the tab to a charger has the LED blinking red.
Long pressing power makes the led turn solid (no blinking)
Power & vol - the same
Power & vol + nothing
Basically I seemed to somehow have turned my tab into a brick oO
I can't even get it to boot to twrp or fastboot
Atm I'm letting it charge just to see if that was an issue (I doubt it)
Otherwise the only thing I can think of is opening it and disconnecting the battery...maybe that will help?
Seems like Magisk is breaking something badly on the z2 tablet. Mine still boots, but hangs on boot if I restore the rooted kernel backup, and goes crazy (high cpu until spontaneous reboot) if I flash lineageOS and reinstall Magisk.
Of course, flashtool now fails (I'm opening a question on that too).
My sony xperia z2 won't boot after i flashed magisk. it said successful but when i rebooted it didn't boot up
To fix, install FlashTool on PC.
Your data will be safe (at least it was for me).
On the PC, open Flashtool, open XP (XperiaFirm), find xperia z2 tablet at the bottom of the left hand panel. Download the latest firmware for your country (versions are invisible until you select one or click "check all". So select the latest version for your country/region, and click on the box with the version number in it, it will open a window, click "download". (Firmware 1)
While that is downloading, go to Root&Recovery guide on xda, and download the .575 kernel for your device and the R_R4MM rar file. This will be a SIN file. By now, hopefully the download (from XperiaFirm) is done. Now, close XperiaFirm and wait until the download is decrypted (the "please wait" window MUST NOT be closed, it will close by itself)
When it is done, connect xperia to PC while holding down Vol-.
Click the thunderbolt symbol, select Flashmode. and in the window select the firmware you installed from XperiaFirm (should be the only one) and click Install.
After that is done, you can turn on your device. To re-root, turn off and go back into Flash Mode on Xperia (connect xperia to PC while holding down Vol-). On FlashTool, go to Tools, Bundle, Create. Select the SIN file you downloaded (This will compile a kernel firmware). After, on FlashTool, go back to Thunderbolt symbol, Flashmode, select the firmware you compiled and flash. reboot.
Extract the R_R4MM.rar file and open the batch file in it (xperia on with USB debugging on). This will boot you into TWRP, where you can root using SuperSU.zip
hello , hope you can help me folks.
i just update my xperia m4 aqua this morning via pc companion, then it gave an error message "updating failed".
then it boots and i was surprised by the sony logo in white background, but it freeze few seconds after showing the blue wave like animation. i tried using pc companion to repair it but it also gives me an error message.

how do i check the firmware of my unit?
Download for E2303 if this is your phone's modification, then flash with Flashtool. Do wipe of everything before that and beware that all data will be deleted, so hopefully you have backup already.

thanks my friend, i already downloaded E2303, but when i do bundle the firmware, it is not responding , im am using the latest version of Sony Mobile Flasher By Androxyde

do the CDA# , Market and Operator of the firmware does not matter??
You can use for different market if your phone is not locked to particular mobile operator. Try to reset phone first on this order:
1. Power off phone
2. Press and hold volume down button
3. Press and hold volume up button
4. Press and hold power button
5. Hold all 3 buttons for at least 30 seconds
6. Then try to flash your phone again

I have browsed the web for find a working tutorial for bypass FRP on a LG G6 wich has LIMITED settings: network settings + tethering only and that wont let you install any applications or even list applications due to selinux but none is legit, not even here at this forum so I decided to create one.
I am not very active here at xda developers so don't expect me to create more wikis, maybe for some other devices I haven't seen a legit wiki for, we will see.
I wanted to add pictures first but they got HUGE so I decided to create the wiki without pictures and videos so if you feel you wanna see pictures while you hacking the device, browse to my github (here you will see how to install apk files aswell if you are on Android 8.0, wich is not possible without using the method on my git due to limited settings, you wont be able to override them to install lg settings or any similiar, you wont be able to install hidden menu neither):

Requirements
Your device, a PC and your usb cable, no annoying urls will be posted in my wikis.
Important:
You must be on Android 7.0, you can download any firmware from lge.firmware.com, it wont matter wich you will download until you bypassed the firmware.
But since you probably not wanna download a firmware twice it's better to download the correct one already now, okey the flashing part is easy and is described at
lge's homepage so I wont go deeper in this part since I expect you know how to rollback your device to 7.0 from 8.0.
# Bypassing FRP!
At welcome screen, press arrow next button:
followed by pressing on skip
Now you will notice next button in wifi window is inactive so now connect to wifi, this is only needed so settings will appear in the accessibility menu
No worries, we wont enable some lame talkback setting wich is used many times
Go back to main screen (wifi must be connected):
Press on accessibility
Press on switch access at bottom:
Press on settings in down right corner
Press on Help & Feedback
Press on about switch access for Android
Press fast on top at the video, now you see the clock and press on it beside the share icon
Youtube getting started for 1 second you wont even notice it, and you have been redirected to google chrome browser
Now you're at google chrome, if you wanna try to install an apk do it, you wont be able too since the limited settings, probably you already know? (However, lets move on and ignore the scammers/noobs that claims it works to install applications this way)
But no worries, browse to any site that allowing you to press on a number since we want phone application to be started:
Once pressed on any phone number you found on any site get into call application
Now enter the uusd code for secret menu
*#546368#*870# (Hidden Menu Is Not Available On Android 8.0 Hence We On Android 7.0)
And now you're in hidden menu wich you wasnt allowed to open in android 8.0, browse to SVC MENU:

Is the USB debugging button grayed out? This seems to be various for different firmwares have I noticed:
Don't get panic! Then just read the below, others can feel free to jump over this part once they enabled usb debugging:
Turn off your LG device
Re-do the flash process with LGUP
Once the installation is complete and your device is erasing itself with the white background and the android logo on screen saying "DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR DEVICE" - That's exactly what you must do so turn off device by hold POWER + VOLUME DOWN (if you will be to late first time, you will succeed second time just press the buttons ~2-3 seconds before you know the screen will popup so you will poweroff the device during installation) - Now let the device be powered off for ~1 minute and then turn it on again and redo the process from step 1 until 22 and you will be enable to enable usb debugging if you wasn't to late when powering off the device, IF it's still inactive then just try again and try again until it will work, actually I figure out this after my third attempt and now I have tried this several times and you must turn it off while it's between 0% and 100% and since POWER + VOL DOWN takes ~7 seconds to power off device and the screen appears for around 4 seconds you must press the buttons few seconds before to turn it off exactly when it's needed.
Now when usb debugging has been enable, plug in usb cable in your pc and enter shell by adb shell and copy and paste below oneliner:

Connect to wifi and hit next
Voila! You can accept documents now ... But hey, don't be to excited yet..
Just continue until you will join the HOME screen, voila - It's done!
Nah, just kidding. You will get your device formated, again, don't cry over this since it is expected!!!!
The device will reboot, erase itself and now the magic! Your'e done.
Setup your device as usual once again:
For third time hit arrow next button in main screen
Hit next in sim menu if you have no sim-card
Connect to wifi, or leave it disconnected it wont matter
Next, setup your fingerprint
Okey, you're back at were you was started for accept the documents, don't worry - It will work! However, now
You will see a smart forward window for setup sim, just press next as usual:
Finally done.
We have now reset the permissions for everything so just setup device again and this time you you will enter LGE home screen and device wont reboot.
Have fun with your fully unlocked LG device running with latest firmwares for version 7.0 from lge.firmware.com with limited settings and no options for setup apk files or bypassing hidden menu.
Feel free to upgrade firmware with LG Bridge or LGUP to Android 8.0
