Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone managed to get google app dark mode (e.g. the discover feed) working on One UI (android pie) on the G965F.
I've tried uninstalling the app (was on beta) and reinstalling the app from the play store. The Phone is set to dark mode (tried the normal way as well as through developers options) but Google App seems to ignore it all together.
Let me know if you have had better luck.
Thanks in advance.
Night mode only impacts Samsung apps.

so after hearing about the release of the new M preview and revamped google now launcher, i decided to download the new google app and install it.
after installing however, i get constant app crash dialogues and it makes going on my homescreen almost unuseable. i tried to uninstall google app back to factory default but i cant, its greyed out, and i cant install any other versions of the google app for some reason, as it just says app not installed.
is there anything to do to fix it? i really dont want to factory reset my phone but at the same time i cant think of anything to fix it.
any help appreciated
I cannot get Google Assistant to work at all no matter what I do. Ive tried uninstalling the updates from the Google app and play services but nothing. I have android n-ify installed I also tried the Google Assistant xposed mod but nothing. Added the ro.opa.device_eligible=true line to the build prop but nothing. Even tried changing ro.device.model to Pixel XL but still no Google Assistant.
I constantly get now on tap when I long press home button im using existenz rom Marshmallow with Cyberian Camera Mod and pdesires yandre audio mod with all addons. Ive tried everything I could think of. On my z4 tablet the get Google Assistant app on the play store worked but its incompatible with Marshmallow. My Xperia sp on acip nougat had assistant right off the bat.
I just cannot get it to work on my Marshmallow Z2 I even did a clean install of my rom. Ive had it on here in the past using n-ify but when the Google app got an update it would go. Now I can't get ot at all. I would appreciate all the help thanks.

GA seems enable itself now by recognizing the location you are in now, you may want to switch your language or as well as your region settings to get GA working. On MM, I could have GA to work even without any build.prop or any other tools' help.

I live in the UK im sure it was said to work here on Marshmallow and nougat sorry I forgot to mention this. Like I have waited for it to enable but it hasnt. Done build.prop mods and everything and I still get now on tap and I have beta apps for both Google app and play service so im unsure what to do to get GA to work. Thanks for the suggestion but I also tried changing location to US and still nothing.
Remove Google Assistant enabler and clear Google app data, Install CCSWE App Manager from Playstore then open the app and search for Google app, press on Google Assistant and press show icon, now back to the home screen and search for the Google Assistant and launch it finish the setup and it should work with long press home, you can also hide the icon after it works.

Hello,
I tried to connect watch and phone via ZenWatch Manager App. It did not work until I Setup the Wear OS App by Google.
And this app needs the Google Search App to work.
I like Android but I dont like Google. I use Linage OS and Duckduckgo as my search engine.
But now I have to install all these app (especially Google Search) to connect my phone and watch.
Does anybody knows a way to avoid the Google Apps and still be able connect phone/watch?
Thank you for all help
I've connected my watch to my S5 running Lineage OS without any issues, but I did flash Gapps. The only way I can see making this work is to flash the most minimalist version of Gapps just to get the framework, then install the Wear app. You don't necessarily have to install any other Google apps, such as Google search.
you could try microg.org
It is sort of GApps, but reverse engineered, more battery friendly.
Hi everyone,
Thought you may have an idea about the following:
Google automatically disables the Google News app in a few countries (Spain, Denmark). The app can be re-enabled on the play store but always ends up disabling itself after a while.
I have tried many things on my rooted Oneplus 6 w/Magisk:
- made Google News a system app
- tried a workaround for Google Feed as per this XDA Article
- changed my Google and Play Store countries
- locked the app in the multitasker
......
= No dice, Google keeps disabling itself after a while. Weirdly enough, my Google News app works fine on my Essential Phone or Xiaomi Mi Pad 4.
Would anyone haven any idea for a workaround? I was thinking maybe disabling Google News apk signature?
Thank you all
same problem here with my op5t, any update?
Hello,
Coming from MI 8, I found that Google Discover is installed on my MI 10. This feature is useless to me as it is already in Chrome. I miss my App Vault and I cannot find a way to get it back. App is installed, but only option is to enable/disable Discover.
Anyone here managed to restore App Vault?
Thank you
