Apologies in advance if this is the wrong thread to create this...
Just update my Google Pay app and noticed a new option appearing under Settings 'Sending Money'
At the moment you can't go into it, when you press it nothing happens.
I know this is somewhat available in the UK but has to be done via the website.
Has anyone else got this and is this a sign of them slowly switching it on in UK?
Thanks
I also got this option a few days ago, but I also can't use it yet...
received an update to the app yesterday, still nothing, option is still there but can't go into it
Looks like the recent update removed it...oh well!

why i can not download from market?
it is too bad !
plz someone tell me!
I don't know what exacly you mean, but i have problems with it lately aswell!
The download doesn't start... it say's it starting but it does not! i fixed it a couple of times by closing the market and starting it up again and then go with the menu button to my downloads... and suddenly it started downloading again!
dunno what it is... maybe someone here knows!
I have the same problem, I've tried everything, but still no luck
Same here.
I'm on Dutch Vodafone.
It seems there is a problem with a proxy something on the dutch vodafone service, i'm on it as well, but that doesn't give a explaination why the market isn't working on wifi!
Just use Market Enabler (download from google code) and fake your provider to o2 germany. This way I can download paid applications in Greece It will fix your problem
Can't download anything in the UK either. Been like this since last night.
Fixed it now, cleared the cache for google apps and market.
Talked to Vodafone customer Service. Ita a worldwide problem. Google is working on it, according to the Android blogs.
Hi all, one thing I read and it works for me: sign into Google chat to make the downloads work. Then you can just sign out.
I'm not saying it will work for you, but it seems to let me download as soon as I sign in google chat.
Ugh..double posted from my hero...
hello friends
i think my problem is a little different from yours.
when i click on market icon and then click on applications nothing will happen.
after 2 minutes of waiting it says that : " there is a problem with signing in with your google account " or sth like that!
is it your problem like mine? because i have bought hero newly and never couldn't download any program. neither no market connecting!
if it is a general problem tell me.
thanks!!

I have been facing the same problem. I keep getting a message that there is no data sim card in the device (although there is, plus I was trying to connect via wi-fi) and so I can't sign in. I have never downloaded an app from the Market before. All seems to work great on my HTC Magic, though.

This is just crazy! I wiped, installed, wiped, installed, cleared all partitions/sd, installed, wiped, installed and still wasn't able to download anything. As soon as I started google talk all downloads came rolling in!
Thanks for the tip! You really made my day.
I talked again to Vodafone Netherlands.
A definitive solution is:
After seting up or signing in and using Market via WIFI, the market keeps working on 3G.
After a ROM update etc. you have to make the first contact by WIFI.
Google is working on the issue.
I have the same problem as MikeJJ from Samsunggalaxyforums:
[SGS II] Samsung Apps Updates - Samsung Galaxy S Forums - Galaxy S II Forum
He wrote
'Hi,
I got the Samsung Galaxy S ii yesterday and i'm a bit puzzled by the Samsung Apps updates.
Firstly there was an update for Retail Mode for Samsung Galaxy S ii. I couldn't find this app installed, so i downloaded the update anyway.
Now there is 1 update in Samsung Apps. When I click to show this, it says "No Data"
Any ideas of either how to see this update, or get rid of the "one update" ?'
My query is do other ppl have this app (seemingly) preinstalled as well. I just wonder if my handset was intended to be a shop demo unit.
Otherwise I have to say this phone is even better than my high expectations.
Can some of you please look in the Samsung Apps and see if you have this Retail Mode For Galaxy SII app requesting an update? And report back if you do.
I had the exact same...
The Retail app is for shops to show off the unitbut needs a pin number to open it, so i uninstalled it.
it now shows 2 updates again, but only the retail app with an actual update.
It seems most people that bought this phone early from phones4u or unlocked from another source seem to be having this. I ended up turning the notifications off.
If you really want to try and get the password, someone upload the APK please and I'll see if it's stored within it, or on a server somewhere
EDIT: Someone else uploaded it... let's take a look =D
Try passcode 5444 please someone. I don't know what the app does so it's "at your own risk". I just took a look for the code
How do I turn the notifcations off on this I bought this from O2 and have this on there to
How do I turn the notifcations off on this I bought this from O2 and have this on there to. I've got notifications turned off I think but I still have 2 showing for updates. Also did post on other site is there any harm to installing this app and then in affect just ignoring it? Please help as tried Samsung and no use at all

Not a clue... As I said, these people asked for the password for the app - I've not got an SGS II yet, but I just gave them the password as they wanted it. I haven't a clue what the app is or does, but it sounds safe.
You are aware it just plays a demo video essentially?
Retail mode - Don't install
Luckily enough I found this post whilst turning on my S GS2.
I click on more info whilst it was downloading and this is what come up:
Shop Display use ONLY - Not for user
For regular users running this application anyhow we cannot guarantee for any malfunction
Retail mode offers the following:
1 Screensaver
2 Screen time out setting
3 web browsing homepage url
4 Locale Setting
5 Password setting
Subsequently I aborted the download!
If you stop the update notification then any programs you do download and install via Samsung app site, you won't any info on updates. Probably easiest to just ignore it, unless anyone else has any ideas?
So a couple of days ago I updated to UEKME via PhantomHacker's StarBurst ROM, and right afterwards I noticed I continued to receive OTA update notifications from my Samsung account. So of course my first step was to change the settings in that account so that the device no longer looked for updates, however it appears that the update had already been downloaded or received. So then I started thinking, maybe if I could just find that downloaded update file, I could delete it and fix the issue that way. But after exhaustive searches, I have no idea where such a file could be. And of course all the while, I continue to get those damn annoying update popup notifications, with no way of stopping them.
Has anyone else either 1) encountered the same problem, or 2) know where the downloaded update file could be or what it might be named? Someone in another thread said it would be in the root of the SD card, but that I can confirm is not the case. And I performed a full system search of the term "update" and found no file, so that's why I'm wondering what exactly that file's name might actually be.
I'm looking for an answer to this as well. Thanks.

Cool, at least I'm not the only one having this problem!
Just an idea... since you use Starburst you don't need OTA anymore.
What happens if you remove the Samsung account, do you still get update notifications?
I have the exact same issue. The update downloaded before I flashed the custom ROM, so it keeps letting me know that an update has been downloaded and if it should be applied. Even if I hit do not remind me, it still pops up.
I think finding the update data and deleting it would solve this problem. Problem is, nobody seems to know where the update data is downloaded to. I've asked in a couple of different threads, but no dice so far.
Let's hope someone comes through with an answer

Ok well I'm giving this a shot, only I've found that one can't just delete the Samsung account in the more obvious fashion, that is by going to Settings-->Accounts and sync and simply deleting the account there (in fact it is not possible to do it this way, it simply won't let you as apparently "other programs" are using the account). Instead, using Titanium Backup I located the app called "Samsung account" and uninstalled that app. I have now done that, and (so far) I haven't gotten another update notification. But I'll give it more time and will report back with my findings over the coming hours/days.
Not sure 100%, but if you stop the Software Update service you should be able to remove the account. Or the radical way, you can remove all accounts with Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset.
Ah crap, well after removing the account (i.e., uninstalling "Samsung account" app), about 2 hours later I awakened my tab only to find that damned update notification pop up, so obviously that didn't work at all. I guess we are now just stuck with waiting to see if someone can actually find the correct file that one must delete in order to stop this incredibly annoying and frustrating phenomenon from occurring. Damn.
One more little thing I'm now trying - while looking through things again in Titanium, I found another apk that I believe was called "Software updater" or something similar to that, so I've tried uninstalling that using Titanium. I have since rebooted and have the tab running, so as with earlier I'll keep checking in on it to see if the update notification comes back, or if by some miracle this fixes it. Fingers crossed, because after this I'm going to begin getting ready for a full wipe and build things back up from scratch.
UPDATE: things might be headed in the right direction after all. Before uninstalling this particular apk (the Software Updater), I used to be able to reproduce the typical "software update successfully received - do you want to install?" popup by going to Settings-->About tablet-->Software update-->Update, and when I'd click "Update" I'd get the notification...but now when I try it, it does absolutely nothing. So I have a feeling this might have done it. So again basically I have killed both the Samsung Account apk and the Software updater apk (uninstalled them, that is, using TB). If I don't get another popup by tomorrow morning, we can consider this a success....
Ya, I thought so. I still want to know where the updates are stored. There must be a file written somewhere and when that file is present the update is trigerred.

Agreed, you're right that has got to be the case, but where is the million dollar question. But so far so good at my end with the removal of the Software Updater app
FIXED
I think I can now confirm that the problem is fixed. The key is apparently uninstalling the "Software Updater" app using Titanium Backup. I also removed the "Samsung Account" app in the same way, but the Updater program seemed to be the real key (but I would still remove the Account app since obviously you don't need it). Good luck!

Hi, I am based in HongKong. I received a Prime purchased in US 3 days ago, already updated to ICS pre purchase and with latest market version. However I have been facing couple of serious issues :
1. While I can see all the paid apps while browsing the market but if i try to purchase anything, it given me "error: item you are trying to purchase cannot be found". I tried purchasing same app from my HTC DHD (rooted w Android Revolution ROM) and did not face any problem! HongKong does have paid app availability so I dont think root should be necessary unless ICS changed that?
2. The search in the market seems horribly broken. I dont even get Skype to show up if i search for it. I had to google and follow the link to market to download it..
Any suggestions? Do I need to reinstall ICS? I have already tried doing a factory reset but it dint help..
China firewall censored it. LOLJK but I don't know.

hehe.. well thnks for trying! i wud have actually thought something like that too but given it works all fine on phones.. had to eliminate that option.
good news.. think the problem got solved for me after I did a hard reboot. Hold the power button down+VolDown button during startup till it takes you to the Wipe Data screen. After wiping data when it restarted I DID NOT ENTER MY GMAIL ID. (i dont know if that made the difference but thought will mention it). I skipped the gmail entry at startup and went straight to the market and entered gmail id there when asked. Could start to purchase apps fine now
Hope it helps anyone else facing the issue.
PS: I did a reinstall of ICS prior to trying the hard reboot.. but just reinstall alone did not help.
Hi folks,
I don't know where else to post this, since there is no official clockworkmod forum or anything like that.
basically I purchased a 1-year-subscription of DeskSMS (via Google Play in-app-purchase).....but only a few months later, it just stopped working.
It says "0 days remaining" - even though I should have 8+ months left
I have already sent the developer 2 emails (once trough the Google Checkout customer complaint interface), but he just flat out ignores all of my emails....
I've already tried uninstalling the app and deleting data (and even restoring an old version of the app with titanium)
but nothing seems to work....
...it seems like there is some sort of issue with the CWM licensing server for DeskSMS
is there anything I can do? it's borderline scam, that the developer just refuses to answer any of my mails
