The US variant of the View 10 supposedly has EMUI 9 coming... but I haven't seen it pushed to my device yet. Apparently there is a method for forcing an upgrade using Firmware Finder:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-play/how-to/guide-to-update-emui-8-x-oreo-to-emui-9-t3884881
Anyone try this? I'm going to give it a go once I'm at my normal wifi router, since it requires modifying some DNS stuff.
It worked for many. Also, there is one more thread where it was given update with hisuite. You can try that as well. US version recieved Pie very late so you may wait for few more days if not, go ahead and try manual ways it wont harm.

Where is that thread? This is the only thread I found relating to using hisuite 5, but it sounds like it doesn't work for "FullOTA" versions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/firmwarefinder-dns-method-updating-c432-t3830476

Worked for me. Locked BL and stock. EMUI 9 202 build running great on my L04.
I had previously updated my L04 to pie 201 before 202 had shown up on firmware finder. Now a few months have past and I'm looking for a way to update to an official firmware, but I haven't had any luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

And here: https: // forums (dot) lenovo.com/t5/K-S-and-Vibe-Series/android-4-4-kitkat-k900/td-p/1295147/page/46 he says that we may expect source codes for it :good:
Tomorrow is the 15. April. Lenovo, we expect ur beta version!
I think all of that 4.3 update is hoax. No more information from Lenovo. Now is Mid-April and OTA update is nowhere. My oppinion.
"The update is still coming - the code was available on April 3rd but ongoing testing revealed some bugs and the release has been pushed back a bit - the team is telling me mid month, and as today is the 17th, I am checking with them again on the progress.
Also, I would like to clarify that this will not go out as an OTA, but will be a download on from the support site." (Mark_Lenovo)
Next week probably.
lenovo k900 update official
So is it coming finally in the next week ? We are waiting for the miracle to happen .hope it comes soon .waiting for official update
I've recently downloaded the AOSP version of 4.3 for the k900 from lenovo's support page. My questions: how do I install it? Do I need my k900 rooted for it to be installed? Is is worth upgrading to said AOSP version?
Still nothing from lenovo. I hope they release it soon, can't wait any longer. My current rom is having some problems. I hope this official rom is less laggy and less buggy.

So I put the file on the internal storage and then I enter the recovery? I'm sorry, I can't remember How I did it last time.
So far build 2094 of Oreo is not available for the public yet. Although I hope to revive my paperweight from the forced energy saving mode using only two from for cores (as with Nougat 1560) to use it again.

The firmware update has been announced but is not yet available. A quick search or reading the thread would answer 99%
of the questions. Never understand why folks expect others to search the information.
Solve problems in marshmallow (auto frame rate, deinterlace)?
So, when the .zip file is released, will I be able to use the recovery to update to 8.0 via USB if I have the Nougat Beta or do I need to downgrade to 6.0?

If you have a mdz-16-ab your update will eventually come via OTA. Everybody waits their turn.
I have a mainstream box, not registered with beta program, running Nougat beta 1560. It is still constantly getting prompted to update MM build 1901. Naturally, it fails.
No telling if that will go away once the official OTA for Oreo becomes available.
My beta box, also on build 1560, got final Oreo release on Sunday last.

Hi, i read this notice
https://twitter.com/topjohnwu/status/1032673806622617600
I'm furious, i bought Honor View 10 for modding, because Honor had to give the phone to many developers for expand the modding on their devices. Then first Huawei stop the possibility to unlock bootloader and now stop the possibility to have root also?
It's incredible, Huawei/Honor should repay who bought the device before their decision to stop the modding scene.
Honor clearly didnt work closely with Huawei when it comes to that modding/rooting related stuff
after Honor dev program they locked bl's for good, and now trying to prevent ROOT by adding system app to check for Root then force remove it or stop it
hopefully we can find a work around it :\

But this is not fair, many of us bought a huawei device for modding, and now we are stucked with no options to reclaim anyting, Honor View 10 in my case has cost me around of 500€, took time for me to get this money (part time job, studing, and living alone), it's hard for me to believe that the reply of Huawei is deal with it, good luck next time loser.
This tweet was pertaining to a Chinese variant. @MishaalRahman with XDA is investigating, as there is no official word if this sort of update is coming to other regions or even the US. This may have been done by mistake as well.
There have been other Chinese variants that have received a "patch1" type update, but has been confirmed those other updates are bug fixes and are not rooted related.
I'm sure XDA will make a write up to clarify if/when there is more info

Your complaints will do absolutely nothing on XDA ... contact your local Huawei dealership or post pubically on their social media pages like Facebook or Twitter. Only if it's made public (by enough people) will there be even the slightest chance of them changing their @&%$§!* new policies.
The View 10 seemed so promising earlier this year which is why I bought it ... my first and at this rate definitely my LAST ever Huawei device

Yes i can, in fact i have disable update app from Titanium backup, and Yes i can flash custom rom. But the modding scene is not really good, first we don't have a twrp 100% working and for me slowly the modding will be abandoned because nobody will buy Huawei or Honor.

We don't need TWRP and we most definitely have a bunch of great roms - and they won't get abandoned any time soon.

Substratum works great because RR has all the commits that are needed.
Xposed isn't officially supported (by pretty much ANY custom rom), so no idea if it works ... I never had the need to use it myself

Plenty of substratum themes do that already though, no need for xposed just for that.
See you in the Openkirin Telegram group
have they started doing this yet? i usr this command to flash twrp and it says it worked it will go into twrp for like 10 sec and reboot to fastboot.... fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk TWRP.img yes thats what my twrp is named
The original person who reported on this new "patch1" update to the ramdisk is still testing to see whether it's an intentional feature to block root, or if Magisk no longer working is just a side effect to ramdisk changes. We're waiting to see the results of their testing.
is there a software version to see if my phone possibly has it on it?

9.0 0.46 is the latest beta for our model (COL-L29). But watch out, it is a pain to rollback to Oreo if you don't like it ..
BTW, don't be fooled by the installation process, we do not have sdcard slot... I personally tried through 3rd party website to update, but I rolled back few days after (lot of problem, like no compatible TWRP (no data decryption))

Indian Honor 10 have a custom Emui , you have to wait for some more time then the normal Emui users.
But good new is that Emui 9.0 is also launched for Indian Users too, you will get beta in some days . Might be between 20 to 31 Oct . For good news see this link.

Can I install it without any trouble using the dload method?

Hi
since some time my cell reminds me very insistently to update it. The problem is: It can not update itself, the update process fails each time. It is rooted and I installed a ROM on it very long time ago(I think it was a lineage OS ROM)
The current version is: Android 9, Patchlevel 1.feb. 2019, RETEU
Which is the latest stable ROM I can install on my phone and where do I find it?
I found already the link
