hello to all mi pad 4 users, today i want to ask about whether i can fix my mi pad's wifi problem or not. currently, whenever I try to connect to wifi on stock rom, it saids 'connecting.." and nothing happens. Also when I flash AOSP roms, i cannot turn on the wifi. Through some research, I was able to find that corrupted EFS might be the cause of wifi failure, because my mac address had changed into 02:00:00:00. I searched high and low but none of the guides where made for wifi only devices. So I was wondering if some could give me the way to fix or recover EFS(?)
Go to the link below and try the 2nd option, if that doesn't work do the first. This did it for me.

AFAIK not all drivers can be modified because they are not all open source , i guess your tablet is chinease and very cheap , maybe it is just a hardware issue , do you have the same problem when you try to connect to another router (in a public place , your friend's....)? , since when did you start having this problem i mean did you already manage to connect to that same router with your tablet while being farther than 5 meters? and are your other devices connecting without problems to your router ?

AFAIK the only way to be sure if it is a software (android?) or a hardware issue is to reset your device after backing up everything (nandroid backup if rooted or something else), if the problem is still present after reseting your device i am 90% sure it is a hardware issue , in this last case you can go to your manufacturer support center or send them your device to repare it , if your device is still under wanrenty it might be free of charge , if it is a software issue , resseting your device should solve the issue but you will lose your data (if you backed up your apps on your sd or on the cloud it will be easy to get them back) , to reset your device if you are rooted (after backing up everything) go to your custom recovery (twrp , clockworkmod...) and then go to factory reset (or something like that :silly: ) and select the only "yes" option that you will see in the screen , if you are not rooted (stock rom) you normally will find an option for resetting on system settings/personal/backup and reset (i am on cm9 it might be different for you but just look for reset option in settings you might be asked for your gmail account to be sure you are the owner of the device) , normally resetting is a natural process but i am not responsible for any damage that might happen to your device (be careful with cwm and BACK UP everything)
Hi, I'm writing here because the GPS of my phone doesn't work. At home, it doesn't find my position and when I go out, it finds my position but for a few seconds...then it restarts looking for my position. I've already tried to download some apps that can help the GPS but it still doesn't work. In the GPS options I can not choose between modes: only device, battery saving and high precision. ( I think because I have an old version of Android)
I've read in internet that I should activate the location access for the google apps from Google apps location settings, but the GPS still doesn't work.
Below, I'm attaching the screen of my device. I'm writing from a Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo (GT-I9060), with the 4.2.2 jelly bean android firmware.
Sorry for the bad english and please, can you help me?

I have the same problem on my Lenovo Mediatek device about one year. It appeared when I flashed custom rom. I tried factory reset, flashing to stock, but nothing helped. Now I use WiFi and GSM to know my approximate location. Maybe the problem is hardware.

I use Wi-Fi and GSM, too. But I would know my exact location, but if the problem is hardware, so, there's nothing to do :crying:
I've been using the global dev roms for RMN3 kenzo's MIUI 8 for a while (6.9.22), and after the marshmallow update I cannot connect to 5GHz wifi networks. I can find and see them through the wifi search screen, but when I enter the password, it just goes "Connecting..." and then stops and turns to "Saved", it doesn't even attempt to obtain an IP address.
Anyone know how to fix this, or if anyone running the same version of global dev have this problem? I've tried wiping cache/dalvik and it doesn't seem to fix. I've also previously done a clean flash back on 6.9.9, still no luck.

Just use global dev ROM, It works for me.
it is my first thread, I hope i find a solution for my problem
I flashed several kinds of roms on my huawei 5x (GR5), but my phone access any wifi except my wifi (doesn't feel the network name), My router takes a real IP, where is the problem ?
Hi everyone.
I have not been using my Mi Pad 1 for quite some time now. Recently, my brother installed an app that allows him to disable other users from connecting into the wifi. He stopped using the tablet because the wifi detects the network but does not connect (stuck with "saved"). I tried removing the SD card and restoring factory settings but still did not work. I also tried connecting it to a different ISP but it didn't work. All other devices are connecting to the home wifi with no problems.
I flashed the tablet with CWM and cyanogenmod 11 on both systems 1 and 2. Same thing. I was detecting Wifi but not able to connect.
I have also tried modifying the router settings as usually suggested by other users. Still not connected.
I also tried renaming WPA_supplicant.conf to WPA_supplicant.bak - it did not work as well
I have tried draining the battery completely and charging it again until 100% charged. Righty now, the tablet wifi is stuck on "turning on" status.
This is actually my first time doing a root, custom recovery and custom ROM install. I am really impressed by the guides posted here in XDA. I really hope there's still a solution to my problem.
Thanks for all the help!
*******I don't think it is a hardware issue because the tablet still detects available networks and is able to connect to bluetooth devices.
Hello.. Did you fix your issue?
