FPS and Face ID both Stop Working together - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

It’s intermittent but when it happens it happens together. Face ID does not work followed by the FPS which fails to work every time until it locks out and I have to enter my pin.

[Q] Proximity Sensor Issues?

Am I the only one having problems with the Proximity Sensor on the Atrix? I can't seem to get it to kick in when on a call. I have already dial-toned a couple of people when talking on the phone. I have tried covering up the sensor by placing the palm of my hand over the to 1/2 of the phone and it never kicks in.
Can someone verify for me that it does work and not some software bug.
Thanks,
Ed
Did you ever find the problem? My proximity sensor has stopped working also.
i am having an issue with mine too. at first i thought it was an issue with the screen not coming back on, but now i realize that the proximity sensor is not turning off the screen at all and my screen is just turning off when the screen timeout value is reached.
my phone is rooted, i have used titanium backup to freeze some of the apps associated with blur, and i have installed the hack to use webtop mode. can others that have this issue confirm if they are running stock or modified software?

Any of you guys ever find a fix for this? I just noticed that mine is not working anymore either. It's rooted using aRoot but it was working for a while and now it doesn't anymore. I have another couple of days to exchange in store if I want to if it's a phone issue.
Crap, I'm having the same issue now too -- was working fine since I had it, but this occured just today, Day-2 of using 1.5.7 .... wonder if it's related ...

Reboot seems to fix this -- but annoying >_<
Is anyone that is having these issues using bluetooth? I have isolated mine to bluetooth and sent an issue report to Motorola.
same problem here but not using bluetooth
My wife's Atrix does the same thing. "dials or hangs up while in a call". She does not own a bluetooth headset and I have only connected a Motorola 305 one time to it. Reboot fixes the problem. Reboot seems to take forever when compared to my Dell Streak.

Hi I believe I traced the problem with the proximity sensor not working to Handcent SMS. On two separate Atrixes, as soon as I uninstalled Handcent and rebooted the phone the problem went away and stayed away. I have since installed GoSMS and now it happens just sometimes (usually after I install a new app) but a reboot after installing an app ususlly fixes it.
My Phone has a standard Telstra (Australia ROM) and is not unlocked or modified in any way.

If you are using unlocked bootloader or if u have unlocked the dim using a code then u will have to disable the In Pocket detection and then try sounds crazy but worked for me.

Similar issue
Just installed latest stable build onto my Atrix 4G, everything seemed fine last night, although I was using phone with bluetooth, this morning get a call, answer, screen goes dark, red proximity light comes on, and I can hear no sound, [later on the caller said he could hear me fine].
Phone would not wake up right off, and when it did it I still could not hear caller.
Been screwing around with settings all morning to no avail, discovered that the phone will only work with bluetooth device connected. without bluetooth the device goes dark, cannot wake up, have to hard reboot, with bluetooth and volume button awaken enabled, it performs normally, so possible connection to issues in post with proximity but with a bluetooth twist...

evo 3d camera problems

Sometimes when i take a picture the camera freezes and every time I try to open it it just shows the picture I took and it close by itself I have to restart the phone so the camera works again, am I the only one? Also is anyone else having other issues with the camera? 3D OR 2D
Ya i have the same issue, dont know if its been discussed before or not..im about to search it..but i asked a friend who works with sprint and he said he thought he seen an update coming out to fix it..hopefully its sooner than the bootloader unlock!!
I have the same exact problem......what I did was hit the home button and force close the camera app...it may happen again ....if it does force close it again...after a few photos it stops freezing....either way I hope a fix comes out from HTC.
I don't have a 3D but I'm running similar ROM on my 4G and had Camera issues.
Just for grins, try shutting off GeoTagging in Camera settings and see if it helps.
Total shot in the dark.
I was about to ask this cause finally I try to use my camera for the first time today all day n it froze on me after I take a picture n freezes , had to press home n go to application n force close it n open the camera app again so i can have it working n take picture again happen to me a couple a time not sure if evryone is experience this cuz its kind of annoying to try to capture n moment n the camera freezes.

Have you tried doing a factory reset? That seems to solve a lot of issues.

Very well put! Sometimes it is overlooked. Good Job!
Same issue, 3 times now. Frustrating. I get a black screen and sometimes the grid shows up but that's it. Can't hit back, only home. I think mswlogo might be onto something with the geotagging idea. I'm going to try that. I think it's only happened since I turned it on. But still I would expect I should be able to have that on AND be able to use the camera!
I had the issue a few times, but it's nothing that persisted. I've even had the random scrambled review screen, or even last night an entirely green screen, but they're not common at all. I also had choppy camcorder video playback once, but once I restarted the phone it was all fine. The thing is, our device is a highly tuned machine, but as with any machine there are always hiccups and random glitches every so often. As long as these glitches don't persist, though, and they are the exception rather than the rule in terms of operation, then it's understandable IMO.
BTW- Be sure to checkout your apps. A hanging application can create issues, and that was actually the problem behind my glitchy video playback. If you find out the issue, then be sure to post it for everyone of course ;-)

[Q] Problem with face recognition

I'm running picrust v.6 and I'm having a problem when making calls. Basically, when I put the phone up to my face, the screen doesn't turn off and sometimes and hang up on people because my cheek presses the end call button. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there a fix?
EDIT: Nevermind! I fixed permissions through ROM manager and everything seems to be working now.

dont mean to be picky. but its not exactly face recognition. its distance recognition. the proximity sensor to the right of the phone speaker is turned on when making calls and can judge the distance from objects. such as your face. it then turns off the touchscreen and lcd because they are unneeded.
i posted this because your title is misleading. i thought this thread was about camera facial recognition

[Q] Problem with touchscreen?

I have a really strange problem with the touchscreen. When i touch it with one finger and hold my finger in the same location without moving it on the screen for 20-50sec, my touch is not recognized anymore at this location. Around this location my touch is "seen" by the screen, but not at the specific location. After a few seconds trying to touch the screen at the dead location, it "repairs" itself and everything works fine again.
That is a real problem when you want to play a game like reckless racing 2. There you need to hold the finger at the accelerate-button the whole time and after a few seconds it doesnt work anymore. Has someone experienced the same issue? The best way testing it is with a multitouch tester app .
I would be very thankful if someone could test it. Maybe i have a faulty device.
Im using a german razr with the latest android 2.3.6 firmware.
You can see a video of the problem here at vimeo.com/37909738
Something like this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467696
Thanks for the link. This really looks like the problem i have. This seems to be a feature? A feature which makes playing some games on the razr almost impossible .

[Q] Anyone else with fingerprint scanner issues?

So my fingerprint scanner worked flawlessly for about a week then issues started. It goes through spots where it won't recognize any of the scans. If I delete the scans and redo then it works great for a little while then won't recognize any of them again. Anyone else experience this? Thanks!

no not yet had the phone for 2 weeks and is fine
Just had this issue myself today, I have both thumbs programmed in and it refused to accept either. Once I entered my password it was fine. Happened twice now.

Had to factory reset the phone because it said that the system cannot handle fingerprints.
Even with the security password didn't work. . .
Sammy really screwed up this phone trying to release it asap

Occasionally it will go in can't recognize mode, but after doing a backup password it works fine. It's a very weird bug.

I had this problem once. Then i simply input the emergency password, which worked.
Usually it has to do with the positioning of your thumb. Just make sure you place it at the right angle.
