We have Lenovo TB3 tablets that don't support 5 GHz wifi. Is it possible to get a USB wifi adapter that will work on an android tablet. Or what about a bluetooth to wifi adapter powered from USB?

I have couple of WiFi USB adapters used to enhance weak WiFi signals and to improve WIFi connection.
Is it possible to connect such an adapter to the phone/tablet by an OTG USB cable? Are there any drivers or apps that enable WiFi adapter to be used on phone/tablet?
Many thanks in advance.
Hi,
I wonder if Android Tablet PC may work with any USB Bluetooth Dongle? I have interest on one Tablet PC Android 2.2. It have all that I need, only that it did not have a Bluetooth. I wonder if I plug in USB Bluetooth Dongle in it USB OTG port. Will it work?
Thanks.
Bluetooth Dongle
Hi cyclonmaster,
Were you ever able to connect with the bluetooth dongle in usb?
I would like to connect to bluetooth headset.
Please let me know.
Thank you.
I just bought Ainol Novo 7 Aurora. It did not have a built in Bluetooth. But with custom ROM by feiyu, USB Bluetooth and USB GPS can work. I'm not sure about other Tablet if it work or not. It depends.
The internal WiFi module on a Android tablet is broken and I'm looking for a OTG compatible WiFi adapter that works with Android.
If not possible, then I'm looking for a OTG Ethernet adapter but I rather not go this route: it would mean getting that, a USB hub, and a adapter that bridges Ethernet to wireless. Almost not worth it.
Hello all, I'm trying to use a usb-c to rj45 lan adapter to connect directly instead of wireless for XZP but so far the one use (b elkin) does not work or I just don't know how to set it up in Android N. Any suggestion on one that would work would be great. thx:fingers-crossed:
Did you make sure that the adapter u got was compatible with android? I haven't come across one that is
Did you have any joy with getting the adapter to work ?
Regards,
Kevin
I bought another adapter from Amazon - Smays 3 Port 3.0 Hub and USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adaptor target Ultrabook, Tablet, IPC, and Motherboard Applications (Realtek RTL8153 Controller, Black), unfortunately it does the same thing. Christmas lights on the LAN but no connectivity. Other post suggest that Sony turn off certain capability that could make USB-C work the way it suppose to for LAN and HDMI. I think I would have gone with the Note 8 if not for the 4K and Tim the Tool Man like for chrome color. Arr ARrrr arr
Is there even any kind of USB-C hub or adapter that works with this phone?

Sony hasn't enabled a single ethernet device in the kernel config, of course nothing will work on the stock rom. But hardware wise, as long as you can plug it to the phone everything should work as long as you can get load modules.

Hi guys,
I wonder if it would be possible to connect my 8.4 inch m5 via ethernet. As far as I know there should be support for usb to ethernet cables in Android 6.1 (not sure with the version should be around 6) and higher.
Thanmk you for your time.
As far as I have seen in the forum people tried it with hubs but weren't successful. Same story as the hdmi output :/
Yes you can, I've tried usb Ethernet adapter connected with type-c OTG and the tablet happily connected to the wired network (WiFi off).
That's nice to hear. Thanks
I've tried usb Ethernet adapter connected with adapter USB <-> microUSB <-> typeC, did not work.
WoW!
Now it's working with Total Commander!
