Recently my e3d's lcd screen began bleeding in the center of the screen 3/4 inch up from the 4 action buttons. I wanted to know if there is a cheap fix for this or I will be looking for an LCD replacement? Thanks for your time & tips.
Cliffs Notes version:
Broke the glass on my Rezound but the digitizer and LCD were working fine. While replacing the glass I broke the LCD, so I bought a replacement from ebay.
Now the new LCD will turn on to show the initial HTC screen and then it goes blank...no backlight or anything else on display. I can boot into hboot and fastboot. When I try to boot into recovery I get the blank screen. Did I get a bad LCD, or is there more to it than that? I managed to find the broken LCD and it has similar behavior, so I'm worried I may have broken something else on the board while replacing components

make sure the rainbow cable isnt pinched anywhere and that it's plugged in 100 completely, ive had this happen to me when i first started to take apart phones with the Inc. even if it's a slight angle it will not make a good enough contact.
Hello people!
I just dropped my phone display first into the floor.
The only visible damage is a tiny arced crack at the right edge of the screen, but that was enough to screw up the whole touch screen because the phone seems to activate touch around the crack, which leads me to my first question:
1 - Is there a way to disable part of the touch screen?
I can live without touch in the area of the damage, just not without any working touch
2 - Is there a way to hardware test using a PC to evaluate the extent of the damage?
3 - Do I buy just the screen, the screen + LCD or screen + LCD + frame?
4 - How do I know which OEM of Ebay to buy? Can I trust the ones saying it's an original Sony Screen + LCD?
Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions. I do believe there are more people out there with same or very similar questions.

in this case no, Z2 LCD display is seperateed from the glass
you can weirdly find glass and screen put as one but thats some sort of odd scam :/

Thank you so much for giving me the answer I wanted to hear. Unfortunately I can't find any videos on how to do this for the Z2. Have you done it? I'm curious to know whether the display is allover glued to the digitizer as in the case of the Z1 or if it's just glued around the corners of the screen as in the M2. Mind you that this is simply observations I've made from watching youtube videos, so the above mentioned information might not be correct.
man, u cannot separate the display and digitizer . its a single glass. for Z2. u need to replace the single glass
You could try finding parts from aliexpress, try looking through the feedbacks before ordering.
Or if you are not too bothered by the cracks you could just put on a screen protector or a tempered glass screen protector.
Try going into youtube and search witrigs for teardown and repair videos.
Wish you good luck! ?

Hi guys,
My Screen cracked, i order a new screen. I install it right with instructions. LCD screen works about 1 minutes, but now the phone has so called ghost touches.
What might be a problem? LDC-screen is broken?

Yeah!
I did take a chance and purchased a new glass without display. Good news is I never got an opportunity to use it, so I might be able to return it. Bad new is I'm now buying a front glass and lcd.
Even though it might technically be possible to just exchanging the front screen, I would say it's highly improbable that you will successfully do so.
Judged by my level of technical tinkering, I would say that a vast majority of the people in this forum will probably fail in exchanging front glass without exchanging lcd.
I'm not saying this to put anyone down, but I'm giving you the advice I wish I would've gotten before getting over-confident.
So for goodness sake,
BUY FRONT GLASS+DIGITIZER+LCD, and save yourself both time, headache, and possibly money
Hi, i'm waiting for my Z2 replacement screen and i have a question for those who have changed it, does the sensitivity of the touch screen is the same like the original? I mean the option that you can use the phone with gloves...
Thanks!
How much did it cost u, repairing the screen
Hi,
I cracked the screen on the Sony Xperia Z ultra. I bought an LCD screen and touch screen separately. I have installed both the lcd and the touch screen digitizer very carefully and correctly.
The lcd screen works fine however I cannot get the touch screen to work. There is no response to touches. I have not bonded them together or placed any tape between them. Is it possible the touch screen is faulty or does it have to be bonded to the lcd screen? What I am missing here.
Thanks,
Rob
hello, I have the exact same problem, have you found a fix?

Hi after trying everything with hardware and running out of options I decided to flash the stock rom again just to see what happens. When I booted everything worked. The touch screen behaves normally now. I guess some software must have been corrupted. It may not be necessary to flash the rom again, it may just require a factory reset. I didn't try this but it may suffice.
I hope this helps someone.

To add a bit of context, I dropped my phone into a dry sink while using it at faucet level. The height was around 4 inches and the LCD screen and digitizer broke. Not quite sure if the digitizer is broken but touch inputs are only received on certain regions of the screen (a statement on part quality?). The front glass panel is unscathed if that helps. So how would I go about disassembling and replacing an LCD display and digitizer on this phone? Also, where could I buy these parts?
You can go to a repair center to fix it.
And... You can buy the screen in Aliexpress just out "gionee s6" in the search bar and down the list. I don't know if you cand find digitizwr too.
Btw sorry my bad English.
Thanks
