I suppose it is not randomly. When you are activating the proximity sensor at the top end of the front face of the phone by moving something near it or when you moving something near the fingerprint scanner, the characteristic fingerprint picture turns on to illustrate the area you have to press your finger onto in order to unlock the phone.

But this blink It's normal ? Your mate make the same thing ? My fingerprint Blink many times 5 6 !

Can someone help me, please guys

It's not normal.

Why? Other users says It's normal ! Your mate Blink or not ?

Does it blink when you are no where near it? Or just when u put ur hand or anything near the phone?

If i tap the screen and attend It blinks One time but sometimes i tap and blinks 4 5 times ! And i don't know why ! You have a mate ? Your mate Blink ?

Mine doesn't blink that many times, unless I kept on putting something near the sensor. Yes I have this phone

Because mine doesn't behave like that. It only blink when I touch the screen and only once. I use both fingerprint and faceunlock if that matters

if i hover over the proximity sensor or the notch, it'll blink. it can be quite sensitive, i put it near my work laptop's touchpad and type on laptop keyboard, it might also trigger it to blink

Have you a screen protector ? Liquid glass ?

Maybe your phone is like a nagging wife? It's constantly looking your attention. Pick me up and turn me on.

This isn't realy normal. I tested allot, I would say your device is damaged. They exchanged mine because of this. I would bring it back to Huawei store and ask them for repair.

Definitely not normal, you should send it in for repair.

Screen problem

Hello
I received my xperia ultra yesterday from expansys.
I found that sometimes de screen dont respond properly, either or its too sensitive, exemple when scroll de contacts list sometimes open one contact, or when i move and icon in the launcher the icon drops, and i put the same pressure all the time.
Or sometimes its irresposive, in the keyboard if touch the same letter with the same pressure, sometimes register the press, others (1 of every 8 or 10) dont.
I dont know if its a defective unit or its a common issue.
Any help?
Thanks
What firmware version are you running?

There seems to be a lot of discussion about our units and their issues or lack of issues.
I have never had a SOD (screen of death) or any sensitivity issues. Not on any firmware..
- Updating firmware probably wont fix your issue.
My advice: I would RMA your unit. (Return merchandise authorization) get a replacement.
I had the same issue and got it replaced, the screen was faulty. A simple exchange and now i have speaker issues, hoping third times the charm.

crap! This has got to be the worst case of quality assurance from Sony. I'm one of the lucky ones to get an actual fully working unit...
One question for you all. Which model do you have? Do we know if there's one particular model that has the majority of problems, or is it mostly random? Hamdogg, you got the C6833 (LTE) and no problems right? OP, what do you have?
I have the c6833
In other words, anyone wuth this issue has solved without replace tbe unit?
For for me replace the unit its the last stand, i buy in expansys and i dont know his policy in this subjet.
Its random sometimes works fine for a while, and appears, i think its about 90% fine, but its a lot of money and if no solutions its imposible life with this problem always.
Curioaly when i received the order from expansys the box was already open, not sealed.
Maybe im not the first one that find that this unit its faulty.....
Really i dont know.
.

And anothr think.
Almost always, the problem appear more when you just power on the unit, tje first seconds are the most dangerous.
If you use during a while its more dificult to reproduce.

The problem is that the screen will not turn back on when the phone is pulled away from your face.

yea..
I believe the kinda/sorta "disclaimer" says that the proximity sensor works while the phone is in use (making a call).

I dont know if its just sprint phones but i assume most Note 3's will experience this issue. Something about the sensors not reading accurately. When i clean the sensor area with a cloth it works correctly. Hold the phone to my ear for a few minutes and it stops working. Clean the sensor area while still on the call and it will start back working... Issue probably started day one but just now realizing its a issue.
I had issues with this as well, the screen wouldn't turn off during a call, but turned out to be my screen protector. Pulled it off and works perfect now. Cheers!
Returned mine yesterday with a little headache as the rep i first spoke to decided to play with my phone vs doing a exchange. Manager sorted it all out and gave me a new phone. Also knox was tripped but i don't think they care. Dont think im going to root again till KNOX is out the way.
The sensor works like it is suppose to now. Funny story is that the sensor tried to act right at the sprint store. They have spot lights so the sensor was reading correctly. Explained to them i didnt walk around under spot lights they agreed and did the exchange.
So, I had this issue on my phone. Tried a bunch of stuff. The fix for me: can of compressed air targeted into the earpiece. Immediately solved and perfect again.

Worked for me for about 5 min on my old note 3. Also wiping the screen were the sensor is works. Of the screen cuts off and you wipe that area with a microfiber cloth the screen comes back on. Lol

Will report back if problems return. Hoping for the best I already tripped knox.
Hello everyone. I found the cause of this I hope. The main culprit is hardware. 1st I will tell solution for this problem. Just push hard the earpiece chrome grill inside with ur nails and the proximity sensor will work properly. problem is when we use phone and it gets heated at top then the glue which is holding earpiece grill will loose itself. its hardware problem and eventually many note3 users will face this. im using exynos note3.

You can also get a micro fiber cloth a wipe the sensor area. And the light will cut back on. Before returning the defective one i did that a few times. Never even touched the ear speaker grill.
So once you have the phone to your ear and it cuts off....Wipe just the sensor are with the micro fiber cloth. The screen will come back on. It will happen again the next time you use the phone but i am just saying its not the ear speaker.

Yea pretty much, I dont know if there's anything in the settings that needs to be adjusted but it is so frustrating now, please help me over come it. Cheers
I do not have your model phone. I have a note 3. Open the phone as to dial a number amd hit the menu button. I have an option to disable the proximity sensor so the screen would stay on.

Hey! Thanks for the help! When on dial and press on the menu button I don't have any settings coming up, I am assuming you mean a long press, but I don't get anything coming up. Cheers
Are you using a case? If so remove it and see if it helps. Also I read dirt in the proximity sensor could cause the problem. So blow air into the sensor to clean.

enter in service menu and recalibrate the proximity sensor , if doesn't work , it's a hardware fault

I have just registered with xda forum so I think my reply may be quite late, but it's never too late, so they say
Anyway, I had the same issue with Huawei P Smart that I've just bought a few hours ago. And I got it resolved with the app called "Smart Screen On Off (New)", by LuuTinh Developer. You will find it on google play.
As long as you test the proximity sensor physically and it works fine, this app should help you get your problem disappear altogether
Happy calls (with a turned-off screen obviously )

[Q] Double tap is no working

Hi to everybody,
Two months after to buy my Z2, I made the mistake to put my phone on my legs and it fell. Result: my screen has crashed
I sent it to repair and the technical support changed my screen,
All is now working fine, less the "double tap to wake" option.
I installed the last update to know if i could fixed it, but it still no working.
Any one know if is the double tap managed by hardware? (the screen maybe?)
Thank you so much!!
Ps: Sorry for my english
This feature has never really worked relatively well for me anyway
While sometimes it works other times I find myself tapping the screen repeatedly with no effect
Not sure about your issue as if the touch screen is working then I can't see any reason why the touch shouldn't work as well as it did previously unless it's a cheap replacement not an OEM

Have you tried doing a factory reset? Maybe it will help. This function is kernel related so it should work, unless the screen is not like the original one. Just saying.

Well that means your screen should be okay. I tried tap waking my Z2 and it responded every single time, with really fast taps and slow taps, so something is definitely wrong with yours. Problem is I can`t tell what...
Well.. I hope that with Lollipop it will be solve..
Tip with this matter, you have to "knock" on the exactly the same spot both times. Then it works much better.
No way [emoji17]..
I tapped for 10 times consecutively but nothing...

I have the same problem and it has nothing to with the flip cover, it's a software problem in the Cyanogen OS. Try to force restart you phone by pressing the power key for 10 seconds to use the device normally, then head to the settings and disable "Double tap to sleep" option in the Display settings.
thank you, but same problem...
