How to downgrade Whatsapp on Android 7 or 8? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
I have a Samsung S8 phone running stock Android 8.0 no root or recovery or whatsoever..
I would like to save a backup of my Whatsapp key in order to save my database along with it on my PC
I have seen there is a tool that can extract the key and DB from an Android phone but it doesn't work on Android 8, I think the problem is linked to the fact that you need whatsapp 2.11 installed (I have 2.19 but as far as I understand only up to version 2.11 allowed adb backup) and on android 7+ you cannot downgrade an app..
I tried to install whatsapp's previous version copying its apk on the phone without success, using MyPhone Explorer and Adb but it doesn't install..
If I use an old phone with android 4+ it works without problems..
Is there a way to work around this problem?
Thanks

[SOLVED] [Q] Serious MTP Problem and other more problems.

Hello, I think i really had a serious problem with my Samsung Galaxy tab 3 7inch T210 rooted with Stock Rom and Kernels use.
I had this MTP device installation failed code 10 for almost a month.:crying:
I follow the rules before posting, I look all threads like this, and I think i already did all available solutions like trying all usb ports, uninstalling and reinstall, deleting upper filters, updating the drivers, but i cannot try the method of disabling the windows media player and renabling it or update it because when i go to windows features on or off it shows blank, and i recently downloaded wmp 11 and install it, but it says: " There is a more recent version of windows media player (12.0.7601.17514) already installed on your computer. It is not possible to use an older installation package (11.0.5721.5145) to install files or to repair your current version of the player." But honestly i dont know if i really had a latest version of it. xoxo... :cyclops:
Before, I can freely connect my tab 3 t210 to our acer laptop aspire series 7741 windows 7 64 bit with no problem with mtp device installation code 10.
But before the problem occur i was doing some stuffs to my android tablet, i was freezing and uninstalling the bloatwares and some system apps, but of course before i did that i search , System apps that can be safely removed and other stuffs related to that to be safe.
I am using System tuner by 3c, to uninstall and freeze apps. So when i look to the backup section i saw MTP application ... so I think maybe the promblem was is that , i uninstall the mtp application.apk but as far as i remember it is safe to remove in a website i visited.
So then, I try to restore it but nothing happen. So my another question is how to restore it? , or how can i get a MTP application.apk ?
PS: I already try the app called Nitrality, as i search in the threads here... but it keeps crashing when i try opening it.
And also when I root my device using odin in our laptop i dont use samsung kies, until now.
So, yeah, yesterday i do a factory reset of course before i did that i do a nandroid backup, im using TWRP recovery.
But here's the other problem the recovery didnt work! I had a habit of getting a another copy of the backup here at my laptop , to be sure.
So the 3rd Question: How to do the restore in TWRP if no file appear. but when i look to my sd card (not literally, lol) i can see my backup.
Summary:
Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7inch SM T210 rooted with Stock Rom and Kernels use
Laptop: Acer, aspire series 7741 windows 7, 64 bit operating system.
Problems:
MTP usb device installation failed
MTP application. apk uninstalled
TWRP recovery didnt work
Questions:
Any other solution for MTP usb device installation failed?
How to get or how to succesfuly restore MTP application.apk
How to work the recovery or how to appear the backup files in restore section on TWRP.
Now I had a plan to unroot my device but ofcourse dont know how b'cause my device wont install in my laptop due to the problem.
And when i successfully unroot my device, i will root it again.
SO, you see im frustrated. Any solution you have any to my problem would be highly appreciated!
But my main focus is to connect this device into my laptop to be able to unroot it and root it again and try different custom roms and kernels. And try to find the perfect combination to tab 3 t210!
SO PLease developers, seniors, juniors help me!!!!!!! :crying:
sorry for my bad english...

Well, if it connected to the PC to use Odin, then it's not an issue with the drivers, just that the the missing MTP apk. Just download the stock firmware and use Odin to install. This will both unroot you and get everything back to normal so you can restart the root process. Alternatively, you could just download a stock based rom and either put that on your SD card and install or grab the MTP apk from it and make a flashable zip to install in recovery. As far as the TWRP backup, are you making sure to toggle the storage location? Should be a drop down menu to choose between internal and SD card at the top of the section to restore. If that doesn't work, then make sure you have the most up to date version and use the TWRP explorer to see if you can find it. If so, you might be able to just move the folder to another location to be found easier.

For older android versions, you can't get the key without root. Only works on 4.0+.

Now the last version of WhatsApp (CRYPT8) its protected and cant backup the entire app with Android backup, thats why the backup seems to be null. Now you cant get the key without root in Android 4.0+ versions :crying:

Delete files after root

Hi all,
Because I only use my Nexus tablets for reading.
Never used for mail, calendar at all.
So I always delete unnecessary files after root.
It works quite well for me in Nexus 7 2013 with Android 4.
Now I have upgraded to Nexus 9 around 1 month ago.
I found it does not work on both Android 5.1 and 6.0.
After I factory reset Nexus 9 (with Android 6.0 image from Google), I then flash TWRP 2.8.7.0. Flash SuperSU 2.52.
Install ES Files Manager.
Starting to delete the files I don't need to reduce memory usage and more space.
But can't never boot-up.
Is there anything new implemented on Android 5.11 and 6.0 to prevent user delete the files in \System\APP & \Systsem\Priv-APP
TIA

Need help with instaling android on a pt3110/pt3100

So I have a tab 2(not sure which version as I dont have the box anymore) it's a pt3110 or 3100, which i have installed umbuntu(I think) on a while back, I dont have any backups anymore as I have deleted a lot of stuff from my pc but I wanted to re-install android on the tablet as I wanted to use the tab.
I have looked on the web but I could only find tutorials on how to UPDATE the tablet but as it has been wiped clean updating is pointless(right?).
The version of android doesn't matter as long as the tablet can be used again.

Android 8.1 virtaul machine for Android 9x, etc. ?

I just installed a virtual machine with Android 5.1 on my Android 9.1. But the app I needed doesn`t work on it. It requires at least Android 6. Does anyone have the know-how how to produce such an Android VM? The problem is that I use P20pro of the mighty-user-NOT-friendy Hwieiiaiiewwaaiei and they really destroyed the camera app some months ago. It cannot be downgraded (I`ve got no root rights), the app cannot be downgraded, tried several ways, adb, appdowgrader, tried factory it returns to 9.1, tried hisuite downgrades to 9.0, I`ve got the camera apk that worked perfectly fine, but it cannot be installed because it`s an older version and I though that after I uninstall the current camera version all be good - but hardtimes led to no avail - it still cant be done... I couldn`t change the APK version because one does not simply recompiles a huwauwuwuuwuwwwwwiee`s app.
So my last resort is a VM with the good Ol` Android 8.0/8.1 (just in case) - but I don`t know how to create it.
