Quite happy that finally I got this update for one UI.
I silently grudge you as I have the TPA CSC
Got mine last night. Pretty happy with this update
Why do we keep making new posts to advertise the roll-out schedule of the new update? We didn't do this with Oreo, so why are we doing it with Pie? Can we just please stop the madness?

because the hype for pie is very high and people is very happy to see the rollout in their phones.
I'm not justifying this kind of posts...i'm only explaining why
I got my update this morning for the TPA CSC. I still hate the icons, but at least the phone feels like a new phone for me to re-explore the newer features (that I probably didn't need anyway).

It's bragging rights to prove that Samsung hasn't forgotten about us. This would be for those folks who may not be aware that the update is available for that CSC region.

As Alienmaan eluded to, not all regions and CSC's have built-in call recording, as it's illegal in some regions.

Hi Guys !
Seems to be another update ...B09
Date 2016-12-23
2.24G
http://www.ztedevice.com/support/detail?id=1170789A90BA42E18B3364B80C7F5A26
Translated : (out of spanish log)
Optimize the compatibility with third-party applications.
Optimize the stability of the system and the performance of the battery.
 ZTE Locker (ZTE screen saver).
New package of safety of Google.
 Improvement of notifications.
 Improvement of the translations.
 Improvement of the camera.
EDIT : i compared the B08 and B09 file
B08 last modified on 25.11.2016 2.355.208kb
B09 last modified on 09.12.2016(?) 2.353.116kb
So B09 is modified later and a little smaller in size
Is it the same ? I dont know...
EDIT 2 : Someone on Androidhilfe has tested it already after seeing this thread :
*still 6.0.1
*same securitypatch date
*same baseband , kernel
For me though it stays strange that on an official website like ZTE promotes a B09....if there were no differences, why the effort ??
So let's test this update further and make some conclusions.
I am from Germany and have the B08 installed. I think it should be no problem to use the spanish version, right? Via OTA check I constantly get a network error since few days... :/

No problem to use the spanish version. In fact the spanish one is the only at this time which shows B09.
Hong Kong, Singapore, Sweden show different version of A2017G
You're right that the ZTE network is down. I am waiting, if there comes one, for the OTA.
If so i will pull the link in logcat to share.
Thank you very much

You can't interact with them through the quick action buttons, reply, archive, things like that. The problem is that when you expand them, they contract again. It was already there in b08.

The issue is that if you, for example, receive an email and get the gmail notification, you can't expand the notification and use the reply and archive/delete button because the notification contracts immeddiately to its state without the buttons. You can tap the notification to launch the app, yes, but that's inconvenient if you can do the required action through the button.

I have got it. And was it available in B08? I didn't realize it but it doesn't mean anything because I have never been missing it although it would be useful really.
No, the bug was introduced in b08, the supposed "fix" for the notification bell (that ZTE USA successfully implemented weeks ago with obvious bugs such as this one, but I digress..)

Well since they didn't fix the broken lock screen with BO9 it's not worth updating at all.
We will wait until Android N in couple of weeks released.

Before installing B08 was working absolutely fine with all previous version.
Let's hope being fix with Nougat upgrade next month.
It's quite annoying that bug since it's one of the major feature of Android M having the ability to interact through lock screen for various app Watchapp,Viber,Gmail and so on and with B08 is broken.
Even listening music through lock screen the management of music control is limiting.

Another secret update from ZTE. From what I understand the unannounced updates would logically have minor fixes to the things they messed up in the announced update i.e. B08.
Dolby still switching off when plugging headphones. It does not look like they fixed anything really. Maybe the problem with delayed notifications? Hard to be 100% sure, but I have not felt like there were delays since the update.

I wouldn't think that it is bug. It is the appropriate way in case of a phone is made for audiophiles.

Why do you think that? Do audiophiles not want their phone to remember their preferred settings?
Or is Dolby bad for a proper audio experience? In that case, should not we be free to choose whether we want it or not?

I don't want to tell others what they want to. But if I was who made this phone I did the same. Dolby is not an audiophile thing. But an audiophile is not always audiophile. Sometime they can turn dolby on due few reasons but mainly non of them will use it for listening music on headphone. I would hate if next time I plug headphone I need to turn it off manually. If I use dolby it has good reason (mostly movie) and usually it is only one time event for specific material.
Otherwise dolby remains turned on in case of speakers and it is also fine. It is reasonable.
So current functionality is quite good for me. Also it would be fine If it was switchable.

obladi64 is right - Dolby is not audiophile thing.
I myself dont like any added software effects on my music. axon7 shines with FLAC's. and if you are audiophile you surely dont want to ruin all those subtile sounds with unecessary software adjustments.
first thing is high quality music, then headphones, then DAC/AMP. I can say I cant listen to 320kbps MP3's as they sound awful with my setup.
anyways everyone's hearing is different, and music taste is different, so you have to choose what is best for you.
B09 ist just a full build that will be used for newly produced devices or as a restore image. Nothing more.
I heard there is an own app of Huawei that can record phone calls, but it's been locked?!
Mate 10 has built-in phone record app. Where is it on the Huawei mate 20 pro?

I find it seriously disturbing that people are still asking for call recorders on their phones. I would be pretty p'd if someone recorded me without my permission and I am pretty sure you would need to make it pretty clear to the other person that you're recording them.
This is just creepy people.

No depends on why you are using it as to whether it's "creepy" or not. Only time I use it is to record calls from businesses especially the ones that say one thing and then say something else the next time you ring. Which I've had alot of times in the past and wished I had this technology back then. I have set mine manually to record certain calls and just use it as backup for phone companies, credit card company's etc.

Useful also in case of harassment, insults and threats.
Moreover recording is still possible on POTS lines, and even on mobiles if using the speakerphone and a separate voice recorder...
I use phone recorder especially for notes during the phone call business.

Google has been actively fighting the ability to record raw audio from phone calls for a while. In North America the laws for 'single party consent' are a nightmare, and totally different from one State to the next in the United States. Recording a phone is never illegal, but in most areas "benefiting from it" is if you act on the knowledge gained and the other person did not consent. Tricky court cases, but the laws have been in place forever. They kind of work like slander/libel, where the grieved party has to prove that they have been 'injured' in some way by what happened.
This is why the games with call recorders, where they have a dozen different ways to record audio. Especially on a rooted phone, it should be child's play to record raw audio from those channels - but it has been a battle for a while. Right now the only thing you will for sure be able to do is to record from the mic, which if the phone is on speakerphone will pick up the other person in the call.
Some people say that the modded .apk for ACR Recorder is able to record proper audio without being rooted, but I haven't tried it. You can search for 'Cube+ACR_v2.2.132 Mod' if you want to look for it.

Hello ,
Is there any way to use app lock in a stock S20 plus?
I know that there is the secure folder but with this you hide the programs which I don't want .
I want to have an app lock to lock the applications and unlock them with fingerprint or face recognition as Xiaomi has it already

i want this too!!! Can someone make a xposed or magisk module, a flashable zip, anything? Even a guide would be enough. I did this in the past once, where you move the applock.apk into system apps and just edit some file in order for the applock option to come up in settings.
as far as I know that there is no such option, but I would really like it to be

It supports face unlock only for pixel and some Samsung with Android 9 and above.
