Hi,
I'm opening this to discuss on what version of the S10 to buy, The Ceramic or The Glass, and why?
I'm not sure, but I've also heard that though ceramic is hard, it can be very brittle?
I had to order ceramic for S10+ 8/512gb...
This is the exact boat im in. Do I really want to spend 250 bucks for ceramic that im going to stick in the case? I feel like if it was an incredible difference Samsung would have hyped it. Anyone want to share thoughts?
I just watched a drop test of the Essential phone from JerryRigEveryrhing which has ceramic back too and he couldn't get the back ceramic to break at all. Even from a 6 foot drop. That honestly has me tempted.
I just wish they had the 8gb/128gb version of S10+ in ceramic for like $1,099. Then I'd make the jump for the extra $100.
Orrrr if they had the regular S10 8gb/256gb in ceramic for like $999 then I'd do it.
I think I'm going to have to pass for as durable as it would be. It's worth $100 extra to me, but not $250 extra.
I ordered the s10+ 512GB ceramic black. Ceramic is also a lot more scratch resistant than glass and no it's not brittle.
my concern is wireless charging, im sure it still passes thru since i couldn't find any info on it not working, and also the actual phone signal. I carry 2 phones on me, one being the essential, which is ceramic, and the other an s9plus. and sometimes, in rural areas, i have no service on the essential, bet yet im still hanging on on the sammy. But is it due to the ceramic, or just perhaps the build, or antenna placement, etc ?

Do you use a case? I'm looking at my S9 which has been in a case since day one and doesn't have a single scratch on it.

I doubt ceramics would interfere with wireless charging. http://www.cdt21.com/resources/guide2.asp
I always use cases and right now I have my S9 in an Otterbox Defender. I have dropped it more times than I can count and there's not a mark on it. I couldn't see $250 extra for ceramic. The previous Honor was all glass and after multiple drops in a case it never got a scratch so I'm going to take my chances.

You will be fine with ceramic. That is actually one of the selling points when it comes to ceramic window tint for vehicles.

Oh yeah, if you have a good case no reason to get ceramic. The ceramic is for us guys who like to have our phone naked most the time.

I will be curious to find out how "slick" the ceramic case is. I don't necessarily use a case because I like the looks of it, it's more about how slick new phones feel with all that glass. Hell, I feel like I should sit in the middle of the bed just to set it up.

Ceramic is more durable, but having a good case on, glass back is just alright.
But it's the added weight of the ceramic version that bothers me.
At 175 gms, I found the weight and weight balance of the glass back S10+ quite comfortable especially when I don't like the Note 9's weight. Hence, I might not like the ceramic S10+ due to its weight being almost equal to the Note 9. However, due to smaller form factor than the Note 9, it might turn out to be just fine.

Thanks, so that's good IMO. I held the S10 plus at the Samsung Experience Store here in Indonesia. While I'm still getting the s10+ I was a little underwhelmed with how light it felt. Something that big needs a little more balance to it, and weight would provide that.
This would be pretty close the the weight of the note 9, but in a slightly smaller form factor. I think that would be perfect actually.

Has anyone tried one of these SZLF Aluminum Bumper cases for the AT&T Note? It appears this is only for the International version but I am not aware of any differences in the size of the phone so it may work for both. All of the listings I have found for this on eBay only mention i9220 and N7000 though.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Luxury-...374880?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4163fca0e0
Also, if you have tried this, does the case cover the edges of the screen (further protecting a screen protector)? I like the look of this one as well as the Anymode Bumper but the Anymode looks really big.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1387444
It'll fit the AT&T/Canadian Note.
I recommend u get the following one. It's well worth the money.

Sweet armor is nice and all, but the fake is 1/4 the price, so it would win my vote. The review showed that the original is better made, but I just don't think it's that much better depending on how biased the review is.
I got the sweet armor (fake version, same as szlf) and ended up not using it. Here's why:
1. Makes phone more slippery and heavy
2. Scratches screen protector when taking on and off (and you must take it off to access battery)
3. Not very ergonomic

They look cool, some people like them, I just don't see the point since I agree with primarily your first point. The other day I was laying in my recliner with my 2 year old beside me and we were looking at a zoo app of animals while holding my phone above us. It slipped and I cracked my poor baby girl in the face with my phone. Since then I keep the silicon jacket on it untill my Seidio comes in the mail.
Can't stand the "SZLF" logo all over it...
Stay away from Aluminum Bumpers
My buddy and I both have Notes. We were just troubleshooting (Like 15 muintes ago) network connectivity problems he has been experiencing here at work the last few days. The connection would drop or stay at 4G, and rarely hit LTE. What we discovered was it was the aluminum bumper he installed around the same time the problems started. It drastically reduce his signal quality. Stay far away from these.
Thanks everyone for all the feedback. Based on the issues with potentially scratching the screen protector putting this bumper on and the poor signal strength I am just going to keep looking for something else. I like the BoxWave TPU case I have now but it does not cover the edge of the screen/SP so every once in awhile I notice it pushing up against the SP causing the SP to move slightly.

I am not sure, but it also looks like the battery cover for the N7000 is different than the one on the I717. Noticed on this SZLF case, the bottom back portion would block the I717 cover.

Haven't seen that one, and the corners look more rounded than the Sweet Armor is. I can't help but wonder though about the screws. They go through the aluminum such that if it is dropped and it hits on the corner, the tiny screw will take the hit in shear. Unlike the Sweet Armor where the aluminum shape itself is taking the hit. So, I wonder what they did to keep the tiny screws from shearing off in a drop.

Having never had an iPhone I have no idea what that is. The Sweet Armor also uses screws.
I looked at more pictures. It would appear that this case uses two screws to hold the parts together. One big C and one small C, so to speak. A left and a right half rather than a front and back half like the Sweet Armor.
Also, from surfing Ebay it seems like it might hold the screen further off the surface you might lay it on, which in my opinion is one of the shortcomings of the Sweet Armor.
It definitely looks nice. It's a little pricey at $50 though. Just debating on whether to take a chance or not.

Duralumin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Duralumin (also called duraluminum, duraluminium or dural) is the trade name of one of the earliest types of age-hardenable aluminium alloys. The main alloying constituents are copper, manganese, and magnesium. A commonly used modern equivalent of this alloy type is AA2024, which contains 4.4% copper, 1.5% magnesium, 0.6% manganese and 93.5% aluminium by weight. Typical yield strength is 450 MPa (65 ksi), with variations depending on the composition and temper.[1]

I'd be willing to bet that the price will come down to under $20, just like the Element vapor knockoffs were for the iPhone. I bought the knockoff for my iPhone and it was as good as the original I bought from Element.
$40 is way too much.

I got Gold Don Star case. I used to have sweet armor case for galaxy s2. When I compare the two the biggest difference is the material.
The sweetarmor is more of metal feel. When it hits something you will definately know it is some kind of thin metal or aluminum. With Don star, it is more of plastic feeling.than metal. it feels durable, and the fit is tight and well, but I hear sqeaking sound when i press right middle body. It is great case overall though. It does not interfere with any reception of gps since the material isn't metal.
Make sure if you have fat finger, you will have hard time reaching for the power or volume button since there is no rubber extension comes with case. I have hard time becuase i have big hand, but i can live with it since the case looks awesome.
Overall good quality but i don't know how long it will last, and the price is bit expensive compared to sweetarmor. I bought it for bumper use only.(i have front screen protector and the battery cover, I will buy another battery cover when it gets too much scratch)
I will try to post a pictures soon.
i bought one off ebay like 3 weeks ago and am still waiting for it.
This is a very beautifull case. I think is over price at $20 but been a official samsung case and lower than last year cover case ($35) i think is worth it if u really want a miniman look no case like cover and keep ur device beautifull look.
I had the case for 2 days. Very happy with it and no scratches yet. The color is a very orchard grey like which maches perfect with all the phone colors avail. Snap easily and very tight fit. All cut outs are in perfect position. Not much grip since is plastic.
EDIT: HERE IS A REVIEW I FOUND. VERY BEAUTIFULL MINIMALISTIC CASE

Well it better be going strong you probably just got it. hehe You probably could put maybe some clear tape or screen protector to prevent scratches. The Samsung clear covers are the only ones I buy. At times buy a cheap more bulky case to use when I'm golfing and drinking. I wonder if any stores have the cases in stock. I didn't see any at T-Mobile.

I can't make up my mind between the orchid gray or silver. I didn't care for the orchid gray kind of makes the back look purple or maybe just the lighting in the picture. I've always got the silver and it makes the phone pop a tad more. imo Just a personal preference thing.

Try going to a corporate store. Thats were most tmonile have it. But i bet alot of them are sold out. I was the first one in on launch day and they offer me like 5 cases. Screen protectors, usb type c, charger, battery backup, s3 watch etc. I must have said no like 20 times.
I could imagine pushing accesories to buyers they would run out of inventory pretty quick.
Having read assorted bits and pieces is this really worth upgrading from the Tab S4, or would it make more sense to wait for the 5G (hopefully next?) version.
I've got three S4s being used for various different tasks, non particularly processor intensive. No gaming.
Thoughts?

I use my S4 as a laptop replacement when travelling and am getting a LTE S6 tomorrow. The S-855, Adreno 640, UFS 3.0 storage, and 2GB more of RAM aren't just minor performance bumps they are life changing. I get low memory warnings on my S4 using DeX that I'm sure will go away on the S6.
Thinner and lighter is always good and the glass back on the S4 always made it feel fragile so aluminum to me is a plus. I dropped a Tab S3 from 2 feet and its back cracked and I've been paranoid ever since.
I'm not sure how I feel about the S Pen as a deformitive appendage on the back but I like that the OEM cases cover it. Speaking of which the OEM keyboard is enticing if it works. The back piece has failed to adhere for some people that have posted online and that's concerning. Others have commented on how strong it is. Same thing with how easy or not the bottom half stays attached. QC issues? User error? I'll know personally tomorrow.
The other issue with the OEM cases is they've gone back to magnets vs. clips to attach to the tablet. Sleeker look but zero side protection which is what cost me the glass back of my Tab S3. Not thrilled about that.
I'm traveling with the S6 soon and that'll be a true test of it and its paraphernalia. I'll report back.
I came from a tab s4. I think it is worth it. Much better performance. Being lighter has been something I've enjoyed more than I thought. The speakers are a lot better too, the tab s4 was loud but had no bass or depth, tab s6 addresses that with a much deeper sound and bass.
The s pen feels like an upgrade too, nice to have somewhere to attach to the tablet.
Even though the screen is pretty much the same it does feel more immersive because of the slimmer bezels.
Battery life seems very similar for me but battery tests online are coming out as the tab s6 draining less during film streaming etc.
Also worth noting the s6 will get Android 10 quicker.
My Tab S4 is very jittery and laggy when I start using it after a few hours of idling. Things become normal after that and is relatively smooth.
Hopefully Tab S6 won't have this issue a few months down the road
Skipped the s4 because the upgrades from the s3 were not meaningful imo. S3 to S6 is quite the jump in performance and very much worth the upgrade.
As I'm a stockily built guy over 6' 1" to be honest a slightly thinner/lighter unit means nothing to me and from what I've read the performance improvements would be more important to gamers or users doing processor intensive tasks.
As my usage is mainly web browsing, email, some business apps and media consumption (I use Kodi frontend with my mythtv server) using some bluetooth noise cancelling headphones I can't see a critical reason to do the upgrade right now. I must admit though I am tempted to perhaps swap out one or more of my current 64GB S4s for a 256GB S4 which you can currently pick up for circa £450 ($500). The only reason I have three is I occasionally have to do extended travelling and the ability to view media without access to power for 2-3 days is very useful.
However 5G would be a benefit that I would consider important enough to get me to spend my moula.

The back piece has failed to adhere for some people that have posted online and that's concerning. Others have commented on how strong it is.

I had the problem with the back piece not sticking when I got the keyboard cover last Friday. A quick wipe down of the tablet back and the sticky part of the case with an alcohol swab took care of it. It's not coming off without a lot of determined pulling now.

So I'm picking mine up wed. Some of the reviews are conflicting. Is it sticky? or suction? The guy at best buy said it was adhesive, but I got the impression it was more like popsockets?

It is a rectangle of sticky material, no suction. Once stuck properly it is very secure.

That's what I was thinking the problem was - something between the two surfaces not allowing full adhesion. I swap between cases (keyboard, book cover, TPU) so "determined pulling" is a gift and a curse. There's some debate as to what exactly holds the back kickstand cover to the tablet. Is it magnets? Adhesive? Suction? Some combination? The Tab S3 and S6 are both aluminum and the former had magnetic cases. Curios design this go round.
My Tab S6 arrives today and I've had the keyboard for a week so we shall see.
I switched from the S4 to the S6 and got the keyboard cover for half price with the preorder. I much prefer the metal back in lieu of the glass. I had the keyboard case for the S4 as well. The back of the new one sticks great for me. I put it on immediately after taking the S6 out of the box. It seems much faster in general. Nice to have a current processor in stead of the one from the previous year. I never used Dex much before but it is nice with the track pad. I really like the Surface like kickstand on the back piece of the keyboard cover. I also like having the fingerprint scanner for banking and stuff. The battery life seems better to me even though it is smaller.

it's not really sticky, I think it is some combination of tack, suction and "maybe"magnets
It is a rubbery adhesion material like what is used in non-suction phone mounts. There are no magnets in the center section, but there are magnets in the sPen flap.
Guys, do you know if the Tab S6 keyboard cover fits the Tab S4??? Can someone try it?
Thanks!

The S6 is a bit smaller. I had both together for a few hours. Also I like the S6 a ton better because of the trackpad and kickstand.
S6's screen is to die for That I can't fault.

Speakers are very good and much improved too
Only reason I would consider the s6 is the extra storage option from 64gb to 128gb.
So i have been using my ROGPHONE 2 naked or with a TPU case. And recently put on the Aero Case. And daym this case is pretty much useless.
I have a few points.
1. If you put the phone screen first, bottom part of the screen will somehow come in contact with the surface you're putting the phone on. Even tough the surface is flat. Not enough lift/lip or whatever people call it.
2. The cutout at the back is too much. 1 hole, 2 holes or 3 holes is okay. But 5 holes? I bet somebody is gonna say it helps with cooling.
3. Doesnt give much protection. Especially to the screen and right side of the phone since it isnt covered at all.
And yes I know its a free case but its better to give a TPU case or bumper case instead of this. And its by far the 2nd(1st is the 1st Gen ROGPHONE) most expensive mass produced phone Asus has made. I had a friend who dropped his ROGPHONE 2 with the Aero Case and it broke.
Yes it's a joke. The case that comes with the tencent version is better, but not by much.
I have an ok tpu case that has raised edges and does protect the phone but it's ridiculous that such a flimsy piece of plastic garbage called the aero case is given with the phone.
Seems as though Asus felt obliged to include a case but knew that unless it was uselessly thin, the included cooling fan wouldn't fit over it.
As the fan isn't included with the Tencent version, a more substantial case was included with that version

Hi, I'm sorry i forgot to mention that i have the Global 12/512 version. I mean for the price it should've came with a better case or better to not give a case rather than such a flimsy case.
And i have 2 TPU cases. 1 is the IMAK and the other is a non branded Carbon back case. Both are better than the Asus provided case.
Even the Lightning Armor case is crap. As users cant use the fan with it and not to mention the USD$70 price tag here in Indonesia. Smh.
This aero case helped me a lot, untill got my TPU case. The phone is too slippery, and the aero case, which comes with the phone has protected my phone from sliding off.

Thats about it. Nothing else. And not forgetting that after putting on the Aero Case. Users have to give more pressure to make the case and phone fit properly. And im sure long term its gonna make the bezels scratched.

I upgraded to the ultimate version with the 1 TB internal memory.
Given the weight of the device you'd have thought that it would be easy to find a decent case with raised edges to protect the screen from falls.
I had to go through 3 screen protectors which cracked at the edges because cases didn't have a lip.
Finally got a good case.(Cresee from Amazon).

I once bought the Nillkin Tempered Glass. But it reflects too much light. So now I'm using the phone naked. Just tossed the crappy AeroCase back into my drawer. Lmao.
A case that could have sliding removal mid part could have been better. This is so that you can use the aero cooler ii anytime
The Aero case obviously isnt meant for 100% protection, but it's perfectly alright for protecting your phone if you have a tempered glass. The corners and back are well protected, you should be fine unless you keep stabbing the back of the phone. This case is also mainly for those who use Air Triggers often. No other case provides such accessibility and protection simultaneously.

More often than not, I always play mobile games which requires the device to enable optimized settings.. the heat is unbearable, especially with the android 10 update.. it just worries me that I might drop the phone

Oh yeah the terrible android 10 update, such a downgrade in every possible way. I'm on heavily modified Android 9 stock and phone barely ever heats up, aero case is fine for me during lockdown days, but I'll slap on a full on bumper case when it's time to head to uni.
For me the aero case working well, this cover save my phone many times, after 1yrs of use, i can say I never have any problem with aero case..

The phone itself was released on September 2019...
I bought a martine case online, I bore a hole at the back and trimmed the bottom portion.. It kinda looks silly now but it can cater the aero cooler. I'm planning to make the hole bigger so that it can have a bigger fit LOL!
I believe every stock accessories most likely are not good design compare with after market. It is because mobile company ASUS Samsung Sony... wants to let other mobile accessories market survive. They are not very professional or put too much resource on those accessories, they mainly focus on the device itself is OK. Those accessories such as case, screen protector, cables, let other companies to do their job.
Just like when you buy a car, it always come with standard ugly wheels. Can car factory design more nice looking wheel? Of course they can. If this happen, how can ADV, RAYS, BBS... etc survive?

1 year and 8 months is a huge difference... 12 vs 8... Would be more intelligent if you said 8 months. And it also depends where you are. Indonesia got the ROGPHONE 2 in January 2020. And thats the 8/128 version. The 12/512 came in March 2020.
