Hi,
Is it possible to record from both sides simultaneously? I am using the Exynos variant. I have known some previous generation Galaxy phones having the feature. It's called dual camera mode; somewhat like the picture-in-picture kind of thing.
Thanks.
I have previously to s9+ the s6 edge+ and there was
A camera mode to do pip compositions with front and rear camera. I have look for this for s9+ and I have not found anything. (Exynos variant both)

Looked up in the web a little. Unfortunately, early (S8/S7) mods did not work. From a similar thread I read, it seems like the mode is disabled by Samsung and hopefully be brought back in the future updates; probably.
Is there a working exynos gcam for the selfie camera?
Its the only one im interested for. I don't care about the night mode etc. Only want better results with the front camera.
I can't believe after all this time all we got for exynos are the three different apps which don't work for everyone from the other thread. I thought these devices were actively developed on.
I've been looking as well. Several times a week I took group selfies for events I organize, I haven't done this since I upgraded from S7 to S10e Exynos.
Half the devs have the snapdragon version and the other half are waiting for a price drop
As far as i know, there is no working HDR+ selfie gcam for exynos without rooting the device due to samsung limiting the selfie camera with no raw front in camera2api, so the only way is through rooting your device and place some modified libs in system to get it work.
However, there is also no working libs for galaxy s10 until now, but this is the way how Galaxy S9 & Note 9 got it to work.
Really need Gcam for S10 selfie
Really need this. Please develop asap.
Discuss about the S21 GCam Ports here whenever they're out
Is that the Google Camera? Being a Pixel owner the last few years I would love it if the camera app worked on the S21.

Yeah there are already google camera ports for the S20 and they will probably make it compatible or make a good config with the S21

Congrats! it's a great phone
also GCam might not get ported to the exynos version (or it will but will take more time than the snapdragon version) i'm not sure though
Was able to try out Gcam on a Snapdragon store demo model today. Works similar to S20/Note 20 series in that front camera still doesn't work and Zoran's package fix enables the telephoto cameras to work. Pictures of all 4 rear cameras attached using Wichaya's gcam, might not look the best since I quickly used my S20 Ultra's profile without having time to tweak it.
Is there much benefit to GCam here? Samsung's app looks good from what I've seen.
On my Oneplus 6 it was useful, as the Oneplus app lacks panorama and Googles image processing is better.

It depends on whether or not you like Samsung's image processing. I personally still don't though will admit they have improved over time. The biggest issue is still under lower light, where they have aggressive sharpening and noise reduction. Fine details are often a problem indoors, like hair or fur. The main camera's sensor is pretty large so that helps, but the ultra wide and telephoto sensors aren't so it's more noticeable.
For those curious, I used Wichaya's Samsung Gcam here (3rd one): https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1501/
I've not used gcam before - you can still just switch between the apps can't you? If so, it'd be good to have both and compare
how do we get the 2 zoom lenses to work with the above gcam ?

Got my Snapdragon S21 Ultra and here are my findings so far. It seems Gcam will freeze up more often in low light (you can unfreeze it by switching cameras, but it will freeze again after a few seconds). Telephoto camera and ultra wide are more likely to freeze because they have a smaller sensor thus less light. I've updated my XML for Wichaya's gcam that should work a little bit better.
*UPDATE* seems like setting stream configs helps stability and reduces/gets rid of freezing. Attached is updated XML.

Are you guys using the Snapdragon version ? The gcam I loaded can't take any photos at all.... Only black screen lol on exynos 2100
Thanks for updated XML file. Still get the odd freezing, but better. Yay to having an instant shutter again lol

ZGCAM 7.4 https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1340a/
Alright guys, just an update on my findings. It would appear that ZGcam is actually the best Gcam build for the S21 series right now on both Exynos and Snapdragon models. For some reason I can't seem to fully disable focus tracking so autofocus in lower light can be a hit or miss. There are also differences between the models though based on what Samsung has chosen to support and what they disable.
Snapdragon S21 series: Supports all rear cameras (for the S21 Ultra, that includes both the 3x and 10x telephoto). No gcam support video on the telephotos at the moment. Front facing cameras also do not work because Samsung disabled front camera RAW for S10/S20/S21 snap series with the exception for the S10 Lite and S20 FE.
Exynos S21 series: I don't own this but based on reports, the front camera will work! However, the telephoto cameras won't, so Exynos S21 series only support the main and ultra wide cameras. Since I don't have the Exynos model, try the XML for the Exynos S20 here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/working-gcam-and-config-for-s20-exynos.4203625/

I just posted on reddit since it's easier to do captions there. I only posted the telephoto cameras since they have a smaller sensor and benefit the most from gcam in my opinion.

Any chance of the Exynos model getting a gcam port that works with the telephot lenses?

Good
Great
Using gcam you realize how bad I stock camera, and how better could be just working on the software.
Maybe samsung will fix those issue.. I'm using mostly expertRaw now as stock camera 12mp is very bad and a lot of noise...

I recommend this to start
Working GCAM for S23 Ultra
Or where can i try and experiment some version? I haven't dealt with gcam in the last years, so I'm bit out dated EDIT: I RECOMMEND FOLLOWING THIS POST TO INSTALL PROPER GCAM Post in thread 'Working GCAM for S23 Ultra'...

They should really change a lot.
Using gcam you realize that this phone has a very good hardware base, and stock camera processing is quite bad, despite having access to the full hardware.

They already changing a lot. Do not forget how feature packed s23 ultra is. It's not just camera. Have some patience. It's already decent but it will improve more for sure. It's the same with all new flagships.
Already a thread on this.
