Download Manager notifications missing in honour 8x - Honor 8X Questions & Answers

I had recently disabled the notifications of download manager. I managed to do this by holding down on the notification of play store download progress and going to the settings from the icon that appeared next to it. But now I want to re-enable the notifications but I can't find download manager in the list of applications in the settings. Please help me.
Now all I get while downloading an app from play store is the download completed notification. I can't see the notification showing the progress of the download. Please help....

Go to settings, apps, 3 dots, show system apps, android set up app and clear data. Also clear data for play store and relaunch and see the behaviour. However, it may not show the download progress from play store but it will display if updates are available or not, apps installed, apps updated etc.

EMUI does not show android setup application in the list of apps and there is no option to show system apps like you said. Also, I already have the update available and apps installed/updated notification. I want to get back the download progress notification.

Yeah sorry I got it. There was an option at the bottom to show system processes. I think I've fixed it. Thanks for the help.

[Q] Gmail App 4.2.2

I've been having some weird issues with the Gmail app ever since I rooted and starting using roms. It's done the same on every rom i've used. I've did a few searches on here and google and couldn't find anything.
So lets say I have quite a few read items in my inbox along with the newer unread items at the top. When I select the messages I want to delete, and then delete them, when the inbox refreshes and the deleted items go away.. the subject/sender lines in the app get all mixed up.
Lets say I have ten emails in the inbox, delete five, when the five go away, the subject for the ones I deleted seem to stay over the email that's left, but when I open it, it's the correct email I left.

What are you using to change your font? Is it the stock ui? Or a 3rd party app? I wonder if it's a 3rd party font messing up. Try default.

Gmail Update error
Has anyone been getting the gmail update error.
Play store tells me to un-install current version and re-install.
I am only able to un-install update and re-install and same issue.
Any fix?

I need to find a "ghost" notification

I just upgraded from an LG G4 to a G6. I set the phone up as a new device and did not do a restore from the G4 or from any other device. I installed my apps one-by-one.
Just recently, the phone started playing the default notification sound and I am unable to determine what app might be triggering the sound. Is there any way to determine what app is triggering the notification? Is there a log somewhere?
The attached file is a screen shot of my notification shade.

Hello
as a first step i would recommend a cache cleaning:
From the home screen, tap Apps.
Tap Settings
Tap Storage
Under device storage tap Internal storage
Wait for the menu options to finish calculating
Tap Cached data > clear
Wait for the cached data to clear; depending on size, it will take several seconds to complete.
Reboot device
=============================================================
Goto settings > accessibility > Turn off notification reminder. -if enabled-
=============================================================
Hangouts and Gmail are reported to cause this problem please check your gmail inbox incase there are new messages coming to you each time this happens as well as Hangouts if you are using it.
I suspect it's something to do with "location services" "... we've located you...."

When you do it, don't forget to complain that you are missing notifications of many apps. Data of Google services framework should NEVER be cleared or app disabled and enabled. It is considered as a factory reset from Google server side, bringing many issues to most of the critical apps relying on GCM ID.
More info: https://www.androidpolice.com/2013/...to-never-clear-google-service-framework-data/

How does it apply for FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging), since GCM is deprecated now; does it generate a new token as soon as the old ID is erased?

I wasn't aware about GCM phase out, but what I quickly checked, GCM and FCM tokens are fully interchangeable, so they probably work the same way. The last time (few months ago, so I must have been on FCM already) I restored several apps after a factory reset with previously used "gms app id", push messages stopped working. I described it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a3/how-to/guide-delayed-notifications-titanium-t4001959. As clearing google services framework is essentially a (partial) factory reset, I suppose that it will behave the same and it doesn't matter if GCM or FCM is in use.
What all of that it just force ota update in android

I just can't install anything on my phone. Redmi 5

Idk when this issue started to happen, but it's so frustrating. App updates, Google Play install, apk install, nothing works.
For Google Play, the download hits 100% and then just redownload until the error "this app can't be installed" pops up, every single time. And for apk install, hitting "install" reveals the installation bar for a brief moment, then a black screen shows up and it just stays there until I exit out from the installation.
I'm wondering if this a memory problem or not, since my phone has been sitting at 65-70% when idling for quite a while. Even more so, could this be because of corruption?

Wow a new reply on a post made 5 months ago
Well, what I did was to just factory reset my phone and the problem is gone. Not before backing up my data of course lol

Question what is responsible for "update available" and how do i clear its cache and data?

im rooted. and for some reason yesterday i got a update (25 mb)available notification. and now it is bugging me every few hours to connect to wifi and update.
im not interested in new bugs and the april update has no benefit for me, so what system app is resposable for this and how do i , disable it, clear its cache and data. so it will go away?
maybe ill update in may, but it will be manually. or i will go to proton or some custom rom if google still does not fix dirty pipes by then
Disable OTA updates... if rooted you have many apps to choose from to do it.
On my stock Samsung phones it's the first thing I disable.
Autostarts can be used to find it, and presumably kill it on a rooted device.

If you have the option to clear the system cache try that. Try temporarily toggling Developer options off, sometimes it goes buggy.
Sometimes it's another system app doing it. Google play Services is always a menace...
From time to time I explore settings looking for things I missed... still finding stuff after over 2 years
With notification issues I eventually track them down. I don't upgrade and rarely update in part because I don't want to go debugging all over again.
From my experience on OnePlus, Google Services (e.g. play store and its system components) is used to push OTA updates. Sometimes you get this notification, sometimes you wake up to root being missing and a new, unwanted OS loaded.
Its a long jihad to get rid of all the Google stuff (and still have all your other apps work), but it can be done...

On Samsung's firmware upgrades/updates come through these 2 apps.

If the updates are coming through Playstore you can either disable Google play Services temporarily or use a firewall to block Playstore.
