Hi does anyone know of a working gcam mod the more features the better, but I think night mode is the main feature I'm looking for.
I'm not aware of one that does more than the stock camera app in terms of image quality. I've tried a few Google Camera versions and they all have the same problems in low light.

Yes, I have. It wasn't one of the recent versions (6.0+), though. I think it was ~5.0 at the latest.

So I tried this one:
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.4.032219.1950.apk
Seems to load, doesn't crash on the F1 with exceptions to video, portrait mode and the special ones like night sight... My problem is I haven't taken the plunge to see if I can enable camera2 API on my phone, I think this is part of the stumbling block as logcat while using this app says it doesn't have permissions to do certain things while using the camera (all app permissions are allowed, something else on the back end)
If you or anyone else has gotten root on the phone and want to enable camera2 API on this through build prop, you can test and see.
I like the app, it's fast as a camera and "lens blur" works but it's not using the second cam for bokeh effects. The portrait shots are supposed to detect the subject and blur everything else (Google magic) and night sight, well, just works wonders on Qualcomm devices. Just wished someone did the same treatment for the p60 mediatek chips.
I think it's pretty important to get the latest version of GCAM running on this device. I hope there's a way. The f1 play uses a 48mp Samsung chip and the S3 pro uses a Sony Chip (supposedly better). I almost got the S3 pro but couldn't justify the extra $100 to the cost.
They have GCAM running on the Moto g7 power and Xaoimi Redmi... and it has improved the camera on those phones immensely.
Info about how to enable camera2 API
https://www.thegeeksclub.com/how-to-enable-camera2-api-in-android-phones/
Also, here's a phone that uses the hello p70 without camera2 API enabled and this person posted working GCAM versions (most likely limited functionality). I haven't tried them because my phone is still in the mail...

Interesting. I always used OC in phones in the past but haven't tried it recently. I did have some nice detail customizations and I believe it had it's own EIS electronic image stability that can be applied over top of what comes stock (unless stock only operates through the camera app and not on by default).

The camera app in the recent system update offers an amazing night mode.
I've went through about 100 trial and errors seeing which ports worked. This one is currently the BEST one for the non-PLAY Umidigi F1. I picked this phone up for $40 as a backup phone and I've been playing with it. What a difference GCAM makes on this phone. No Night Sight though.

I'm having the same issue with this G Cam APK, and the latest firmware update. The strange thing is that the rear camera works for the Panorama, Photo Sphere and Lens Blur options but not for regular rear camera pictures. There isn't even an icon on the main camera screen to select it. Weird !
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !

Hello everyone, I recently unlocked the bootloader of my Asus Zenfone Max Pro and installed Magisk to root the phone. All of this was done for just thing - Trying out the Google Camera as I do feel that the Stock Camera app is pathetic and that's the major reason why the Zenfone Max is not performing that great. For Google Camera to work, After you have rooted your phone, download this app called 'build.prop editor'. After it is downloaded search for 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled' The value would be 0 by default, Change it to 1 and then reboot your phone. Now install the Google Camera apk(Whichever you feel like, I'm attaching the one that I keep using) and you're good to go. Everything including HDR+, Front And Back portrait Mode, Video Stabilisation works.
Here is the complete video review along with Comparisons with the Redmi Note 5 Pro On Google Camera.
Thanks....google cam is definitely better.

hey brother, first big thanks to you for doing this.
yesterday i just ordered 3gb version of this and glad to find your google camera app review. i earlier saw your videos with max pro m1. i like the way you reviewed it, like a daily usage user unlike others who do monotonous review which gives the feel that the person did not even use it.
https://www.gsmarena.com/asus_zenfone_max_pro_(m1)_zb601kl-9173.php
Anyways, my query is regarding google camera app on max pro m1 ?
1) In the specs, its given that phone supports 1080p/60fps recording. During its announcement it was mentioned that such feature will come ? Could you please check whether google camera app provides the same ?
2) And in the video you have mentioned with google camera app, support for EIS comes in ? Could you please elaborate more on that.
And part from this, please give your general view with new updates how much is the Fingerprint sensor and Faceunlock is making life better or worse as most says because of its slow speed?
Cheers,
Arnold
Any apk for unrooted device? All can't root the device, as it has risk of making phone dead.
What happens to the Battery life and futures OTA updates !?
Thanks for the post
Indeed am looking forward to root my asus max pro m1 and install google camera
But Need to know how it affects the battery life and Future OTA updates that the Phone is likely to receive.
Looking forward for an answer !
Cheers and Peace!

I haven't found anything for unrooted phones. Rooting won't make your phone dead. There are ample amount of guides here on xda which are very simple.

I couldn't see 60fps option but I will try some other google camera apk and reverify. About EIS, yes it works with Google Camera. Sometimes you get some artifacts on the left/right edge but overall the footage seems a lot smoother. I still find fingerprint sensor to be slower and face unlock is a hit or miss. I'd say it works 70% of the times. Struggles sometimes in indoor or dim lighting conditions.
i just use Oneplus Camera, i think its still better than Google Camera. Go find it at apkmirror.

Hello everyone. Unfortunately I got the Omnivision sensor in my mido and I'm facing with problems on GCam. There's many, many threads about it, but all of 'em are from January/February. Now it's end of May so I would like to ask, are there any news about it?
I'm on latest MiracleDroid based on Oreo 8.1 and the only GCam is working properly in very bright light is GCam5.1.014-Arnova8G2-v10.2-Test-8-mido-Omnivision-sensors.apk which was posted in 2017.
I also tried flashing "mido-7.12.28-camera-blobs.zip"
Maybe I'm just dumb and cannot find anything newer for daily camera?
If you know any newer port working on Oreo mido OV, I would be so glad. I tried so many cams posted here: http://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
All I tried have problems on mido OV. Maybe there are some new libs, I haven't found
The ROM I use features kernel fixes: https://github.com/MiracleDROID/and...mmit/d8475c985a4b1a90dabe56a3cb277ebe674e12e0
Please help me, I know how great photos makes latest BSG's "All auto corr 2" port, but it keep crashing in good light ;(
Best regards, Damian
Yup any more development for mido on google camera plz

Serjo is not working.
About ukril dont know about this version.
It has been month since last check. Did something changed, or still SerJo's version test4c from February is the best?
Maybe somebody found a way to use panorama/photosphere on Android Oreo?
Just received my Mi Note 10 today and thought I'd kick things off to try and find the best GCam app.
After looking around, I've found one that supports three of the rear cameras (main sensor, wide and 2x zoom).
The build is: Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.6-Fu24_5Lens-01h.apk
I'm a new user, so can't share the link, but it's available at: celsoazevedo.com
How are the results?
Crashes for me and the couple of pics I did take were not as good as the stock camera. The first pic is gcam no night mode, the second is stock camera no night mode, no flash. It was 9pm last night dark with no street lights
I'm seeing mixed performance as well. At first it seemed to be working okay, but it does crash occasionally for me.
Hopefully this gets the ball rolling in finding a good GCam app though. I'll scour for some more apks and will post if I find anything else to try.
finally someone asked the question !
i"ve been waiting patiently since the device came out and strange enough every one seemed happy 'bout the stock camera but we know xiaomi better than that it's a ****ty app
hope someone will get the gcam mod right
..stay strong..
Latest cstark27 gcam 7.2 seems to work rather well on Night Mode and even (forced) astrophotography, however the saturation is lower than normal (increasing to max value doesn't seem to have any effect).

For the moment Nothing
Wait for S11
Wait for Galaxy S11, That phone is going to get a 108px sensor too .
And I think developers will then be more eager to develop for such high megapixel sensors such as the mi note 10..we just have to WAIT!
---------- Post added at 03:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:20 AM ----------
And also cuz S11's sensor might be the same sensor as in mi note 10 or a 2nd generation if the leaks are correct so I guess that the S11 port will 90% work on this phone and sensor
Would be nice to get an app that supports all of the cameras. I wonder what penta setup the S11 will have?

The fu24 build mentioned at the top is the only one so far that I found to output 27 MP photos from the main cam, as well as work with the ultrawide and 2x tele.
However, all gcam builds I tried so far have severe lack of saturation with the main cam. Even those that allow increasing the saturation.
Apk and source decompile stock cam
If anyone wants to try I can send you the apk and source code decompilled smali files of the Xiaomi Note 10 stock camera App, to look for the 108Mp codes to trigger the mode, since at camera api 2 the resolution is not there, PM since can't post links yet
I'm testing this gcam https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/GCam_7.2.010_Urnyx05-v1.4.apk
From the settings enabled the wide and tele cameras, then from the advanced settings go to library patchers and set the contrast to 2.0.
In my opinion they are good, later I attach a proofIf someone wants to test and maybe work on it, it would be a great start, among other things, it starts at 27 mp

I will share my favorites as well:
I prefer MGC_7.3.020_Parrot043_V7 and everything works flawlessly.
I have been using the Parrot builds for several months and its consistently great. The Poco doesn't have OIS, the Mi8 has a smaller 1.8 aperture, ( vs 2.0) The Mi8 has a dual LED flash, and a wider range of abilities with video recording. So with this mind, the Parrot builds officially support the Mi8, while Poco builds are obviously designed specifically for the Poco and they often omit functions that the mi8 can use.
I also like the On Fire builds ( made for Poco but keeps all options available for other phones.) and I also like GCam_7.0.009_MiIXSE.RPII.MiVIII_V1
I recommend using the Parrot's 7.0.009 final goodbye version with my settings.

Thanks for sharing, do you use any particular setting for best results, I'm testing the version you shared and I was just wondering how to set up best for our MI8.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Slds,
any config files required or recommended?
Hi @QxiG, thread is being closed as an existing GCam thread already exists. Having multiple threads for the one mod is not productive. Kindly continue the discussion in the following thread:

Thanks for understanding, and have a nice day!

I've been using the normal inbuilt moto camera.... it's quite good with many features but I want to check the full potential of the camera with a gcam.it has camera2 support in my knowledge.
Please comment on the photo quality.
Also if it is a Samsung cam.
Any other comments would be welcome too

The image quality is quite good....the 64mp primary sensor works perfectly
Is it possible to just use gcam apk's that are not made specifically for this phone? Does it need special code to use the popup camera?

Got working gcam 7.3 bro
https://drive.google.com/file/d/10sWZz2kVUEk2ZeIyz1yE7-N03P53kGYM/view?usp=drivesdk
GCam 7.3
The GCam 7.3 versions bring Astrophotography mode and better night sight mode to the Motorola One Fusion Plus along with other older features such as HDR+, Timelapse, portrait mode, etc. The available GCam port is compatible with Android 10.
The standard camera app working very well and the pictures are more than just very good.
Video defaults fully-zoomed in the viewfinder. Any solution?

All 4 cameras can work only if a gcam build is made specifically for this device. (But it's very unlikely all 4 lenses, specially the depth, to work well even so)
You can, though, have wide angle support when newer versions of gcam becomes available, as the newer pixels have wide-angle lenses.
I'd suggest you to stick to the latest stable builds as available.

Firstly, you're off topic with your display issues.
Secondly, it's the one fusion+ thread and not the g7.
Thirdly, how does "white dots on orange yellow surface" have to do anything with image persistence?
And lastly, gcam's image processing tends to have some colour artifacts, specially if it isn't built for the device on which you're using it on (more so if HDR+ is on). What you're talking about is probably the result of the same.
Please be on the proper thread and on topic next time

Thank you for helping me?. I totally forgotten that Gcam apk is from Pixel phones, and only newer Pixel XL phones have had 3 or 4 cameras dumb me xD.
I found some configuration file for my phone, and apply to Gcam from developer Nicki.
Maybe its reason because fusion plus is a newer phone and no developer is working for now, maybe in future will be supported. But for now offical update is far away. I hope that Android 11 will fix this software issue because it has great potential in camera hardware.

So what's the latest GCam version out there for this device? Please post the source topic.
For The Front Camera I Find Snap Chat Gives Better Quality than the Stock Camera App.
If Someone Develop GCam For This Phone, It will be Awesome.

There's no version of GCam available specifically for the device. As of now, there's a version based on Google Camera 7.2 for the pixel devices, which works fine on the one fusion+ (that's what I'm using atleast, do note video recording on the back camera seems broken in this version). You can get it from the main thread here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/google-camera-mods/gcam-google-pixel-1-2-3-t3875663
Also, there are other ports by other Devs. If you're interested check those out and see if it suits your needs.

Thanks for referring to the thread. Funny enough that's the one I used itself on my marlin to get astrophotography Lol. Nice to know it works well on the MOF+ as well.
But which other ports of GCam you mean exactly, I mean where to find them?
