Stock Android and Custom UI Android in terms of privacy and security - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I read many articles for Stock Android and Custom UI Android.
There are many Custom UI Android like ColorOS (Oppo & Realme), EMUI (Huawei), Flyme (Meizu), Funtouch (Vivo), OxygenOS (OnePlus), MIUI (Xiaomi), Amigo OS (Gionee), etc.
No doubt, Custom UI Android provides more features and customization options.
And custom UI Android is good for those who want more options and customizations in android phone.
These days, we do more financial transactions on android phones and we keep banking apps in android phones.
In terms of security and privacy of personal data and financial transactions, I would like to understand security and privacy threat with Custom UI Android.
There are many Custom UI Android but I am concerned about MIUI 10, ColorOS 5.2 and Color OS 6.
Please be kind to elaborate and clarify it.
Regards
Ugn10

Android ROM

Hello.
We are looking for Android ROM Developers to customize our requirements on CyanogenMod or Lineage OS.
It'll be based on removing modular parts like SMS, File Management, Bluetooth and integrating of a few applications to it.
We need experienced people, interested people can reply with contact details via this topic or private message.

Can someone develop a ROM for $$?

I've seen these chinese companies like Mi & Huawei selling cheap Android devices. They have been under scanners of private data leaks. I was thinking is it possible to get fully customized ROM with all google and manufacturer footprints removed with some additional features than other custom ROMs?
Few of the Xiaomi and Huawei devices have good custom ROM support. Try to search for device specific threads for details regarding flashing roms.

I'm on MIUI 8 (android 7.1) - custom ROM an upgrade?

Just looking for some perspective. I have been hearing lately that MIUI isn't that bad, but I'd rather be on the latest android and avoid any potential privacy concerns with Xiaomi.
Any reason to stay stock?

A bare operating system

Hello... Since I'm not very familiar with cell phones I'm curious about something. With a desktop computer, one can build their own or have a manufacturer type ( Dell, HP and so ) Now if you take the custom build system you basically can decide which OS you want, why can't cell phones be similar to that be able to install whichever OS you like, Or can you? Like in Android is it possible to install just a basic OS onto a phone? one that doesn't have let's say Google ( Google store)? Is there an Android build without Google? Also, does Android have an OS with its own browser, if not, why not? thanks

You're thinking about it along the correct route. There are plain, unbranded Android builds known as Vanilla Android. These are the builds you see on Nexus and Pixel devices, built from the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and have no carrier or OEM bloat.
If you're looking for a lightweight Android OS with no GApps (Google Apps), there are a ton of custom Android builds available, the most popular in the world being LineageOS. However, it should be noted that you can't simply flash a vanilla or custom Android build to your device and expect it to boot and function properly. Android ROMs need to be ported to a specific device. This is due to the vast hardware differences between various manufacturers and models.
To see if any custom Android builds are available for your particular device, search your model device in the Search Plus option. If any custom ROMs, kernels, recoveries, etc., are available for your device, you'll find them here on XDA.

[DEV] So why exactly are we all using FBEv1 instead of FBEv2?

Hello, so this is a developer oriented thread, so please refrain from answering if you aren't well informed on the subject matter as to avoid cluttering it up.
I've been wanting to ask what the reason of using FBEv1 still in most ROMs is instead of FBEv2 (Starting Android 11). FBEv1 is less secure and is no longer recommended by Google starting 11. Most ROMs are AOSP based anyways, so preserving compatibility with the stock MIUI ROMs in my opinion isn't a valid excuse. Lineage has shown that FBEv2 works just fine on the device. This also creates segmentation between user groups as now part of people are on FBEv1 ROMs and the other part is on v2 making any simple transition impossible without a wipe and making recovery compatibility hell.
Shouldn't we be adopting the newer more secure standard on any non MIUI based ROM for obvious reasons? Especially since going further, newer and newer android versions will eventually leave FBEv1 deprecated.
I'm not meaning to attack or defame anyone here with this, moreso raise the question and hopefully get some developers to switch to FBEv2 in their next release.
+1 I have the same question too. Why not adopt FBEv2?
