Im having some issues with my Wifi and Cellular handover. No matter how close i am to my router or how good of a signal i got, the wifi disconnects and starts using my data every few minutes, its getting really annoying but thank god i have unlimited data! Anyways when i turn on my "Aggressive Wifi to cellular Handover" it also unticks every so often. Its supposed to not disconnect my phone from the router so easily but it unticks every once in a while as well. i dont understand! My sister has the same phone and it does the same exact thing.
NOTE: I do not have a ZTE Axon 7, i have a Alcatel Pulsemix but i couldnt find a forum page for that specific phone and i need major help. so this thread may be moved!!

I was wondering about this.
I have been using 3G internet on various android phones - HTC Legend, Samsung Captivate, Optimus 2x, and now Samsung Galaxy S2.
It seems that i can't get a good internet connection.
I believe this is related to the ISPs in my country, but just to make doubly sure, I want to ask all of you, if you are facing the problems below:
a) Internet connection dies abruptly, with indication that there is data up, but no data down.
b) a slow mobile data startup (sometimes up to minutes long) in an area where 3G connectivity has been previously good.
c) disruptive internet connection while downloading apps, that dies off, forcing you to restart all over again.
d) a consistent pattern where 3G dies after certain amounts of data downloaded or certain amount of time.
e) having to constantly go airplane mode and back, just so your 3g internet is alive again.
f) Inability to multitask on your 3G mobile internet.
g) tethering causes death of 3G connection when done with more than one device. Also can't tether to a single device while surfing on phone - as this will cause connection to die.
h) 3G connection dies and restarts by itself. (even in a location where signal is not a problem).
I love android, but the instability of 3G on Android is frustrating. I personally don't think Nokia or iPhone has these problems (could be wrong).

Phone - SGS2
Telco - DiGi
Internet speed - 1MBPS according to speed test.
Is this an APN problem? Telco problem? or OS problem?

You said it
I believe this is related to the ISPs in my country,
Thats what i would be checking first as its no use asking if users ten thousand miles away are having the same problems . It would be well reported if so .
You may also try a change of modem .

Hi all,
I'm having a data connectivity issue on my phone when moving from 2G to 3G. If I'm connected to 2G, then move into an area of 3G coverage the phone will successfully migrate to the 3G network, however the data connection will often not start up for between 30 minutes and severanl hours. Flipping airplane mode will *sometimes* fix it, but more frequently, even rebooting the phone won't work. However, if I lock the phone to 3G from the settings, I do not encounter this issue at all. It only happens on my home provider (Jersey Telecom - they're small). In the UK, on Three, it didn't happen.
So, given that the problem can persist over reboots, and doesn't happen in the UK, it makes me think it's more likely a network issue, so I called them up. The network engineer managed to reproduce the issue on his colleagues Samsung Galaxy Note, but they are adamant that it's a phone issue and not a network issue, and is a matter of Samsung not sticking to the specs. The phone isn't currently rooted, but I can root it if it will help me debug the problem. From the sounds of it, it may be problem consistent to all Samsung radio phones on our network.. and I really don't want to switch to another phone.
They say that from their logs, the phone is not always trying to create (or presumably, migrate?) a PDP when moving to a 3G network. It's hard to say whether it's a problem with the phone or their logs.. has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Does anyone know how to access logs about the phone trying to create a PDP etc. so that I have something to compare with theirs?
Thanks
check out the modems thread and try a better modem

So after the 3.16 update, I noticed my phone was not picking up 4G. After pulling my hair out to figure out why, I traced the problem to the Sprint Connection Optimizer being disabled. Turn it on, 4G toggles on with it, turn it off, 4G toggles off with it. The previous version of the Sprint Connection Optimizer did not do this. To confirm my suspicions I reset the phone to stock and observed the same behavior.
This is quite the pain in the ass as I don't want my phone connecting to WiFi networks that I marked "remember". In addition, I don't need my phone connecting to WiFi at work (which I use for work purposes under special circumstance).
My short term solution is to forget WiFi networks but this is rather tedious. With the Sprint Connection Optimizer toggled off, I am essentially locked out of 4G. I pay for Sprint's service and I insistent on using as much of their/my bandwidth as I chose.
Can anybody else confirm what is happening. My area has relatively strong 4G coverage, to the point where seeing 3G would be a rare occurrence. I need to make sure this isn't a problem on just my device before I roam my way out of my contract.

Why would you not want to connect to WiFi networks that you mark remember?....jw
If you have the option of your local WiFi versus 4G most times I'd expect someone to want to go with the WiFi... Only time you'd want to not is in places where 4G was better connection, which in those cases I wouldn't want to mark said WiFi networks as remember...
Ill try to mess with it here see how it effects my stuff as were rolling 4G a lot now...

In most cases work wifi won't let you watch porn at work man. Total pain in the a$$. We should be able to toggle our own connections. I will say wifi is better on battery and generally faster. However there's potential risk on wifi that someone could access your device. Extremely unlikely but a possibility none the less.
In my area we don't have lte yet and the other day after installing MeanBean I saw 4G pop up in signal bar then went away then came back. Haven't seen it since. I was so excited but I shouldn't get my hopes up. Sprints been saying 4G for a long time and still nothing. Only reason I stay is unlimited data and I live the HTC evo line.
You have a better chance of winning the lottery 5 times than someone accessing/ hacking your phone over wifi without you knowing about it.
Also there are great wifi apps that tells you who is on the network your on at all times.

I have found that Comcast seems to throttle youtube traffic at certain times of the day, and I have a specific spot in my house where my wifi signal just completely drops (but still claims to be "connected.") I'm obviously going to want my phone to remember my home wifi connection, but I don't necessarily want to always be using it at home.
My situation may not be incredibly common, but it's a valid scenario where you may not necessarily want connection optimizer to run the show.

The optimizer isn't your issue there though, as the mere fact of having the network remembered in the phone will cause it to connect to it whenever within range.... Its the fact you have a remembered WiFi network saved and you want to override that in a specific location when still in range of the WiFi... In that case the only solution is to toggle it off when you don't want to use it at that specific location in your house...
Optimizers doesn't just force you to connect to your local network that's remembered as the WiFi being on will do that itself already...

You can try disabling Sprint Connection Optimizer and try purchasing Juice Defender Ultimate. If you use its location service, it will only turn on wifi in places that you turn on the wifi antenna and remember them. And if it turns it on, you just manually turn it off until its trained.
I constantly drop wifi in my house. Is this just my phone or is it an issue? Tried everything and won't stay connected. Network just disappears and then connects 10-15 second later.
I have some issues also. Just bad firmware on LG side
I'd check your wifi modem, I use my LG V10 on numerous different modems, and have no problems with it. It connects to my home, alone with a few places I go to, and even when tje signal is extremely weak. So I'm not seeing the same thing
Also have issues on Wi-Fi
2.4 seems to hold connection longer than 5ghz. Luckily I have unlimited data. I have almost never used WiFi on this device due to this. The problem is both on my Asus RT router and my brother's Netgear Nighthawk router. Both with latest firmware. I'd like to have the option of a stable WiFi connection though.

I've read a few posts that suggest being sure the MAC address of your phone is registered with your router. I've come from 2 galaxies and I do feel the LG is a little more sensitive to a low or fluctuating signal. I "feel" it, but everytime I actually compare, it doesn't seem to be the case
Thanks for the advice

Tried the registering the Mac on both bands. Tried several device resets. Disconnected all other attached devices from the router. Had much hope for this. But no bueno. Still dropped connection after less the three minutes. Disabled 4G and the other nanny settings for WiFi on the V10. Just hoping for the much needed firmware update (s) for this sweet phone.
Again, thank you for the advice and your time.
I can't connect my H850 to wifi band 13 after a random amount of time in a no mobile signal area. Seems immediate after a reboot, or drops band 13 wifi after a random amount of time with no reboot, SIM card remains in phone. When the problem is happening I get the message about wifi issue when toggling wifi off then on "Cannot search for all wifi networks. Check SIM card or mobile network". All other wifi bands are fine.
Phone purchased in the UK, but it's been back twice for repair, and each time comes back with new issue. I'm not sure if this happens on EU stock LG G5 that haven't had lots of part replaced. I think it's something to do with LG phones assuming they're in the US (where channel 13 is banned) unless a connected SIM tells them otherwise. Seems a big problem with LG phones if you need to connect to EU wifi in no signal areas. There's no option to set wifi regulatory domain in advanced wifi settings.
Is there any way of fixing this without rooting?

Unfortunately i had found the post after a long time. You will most probably won't have this phone anymore... I have the same LG and it just lately started the same problem to me too, so i would be glad if anyone had answer
Had this problem also. I've switched off channel 13 in router.
