Hello,
I have a LG Stylo 4 (LML713DL), Android 8.1 stock, Straight Talk
been working fine since Nov. 2018 when I purchased, no issue. Time to refill service in Feb., it took four hours to get service back.
Now its's stuck on 3G. It will sometimes go crazy 1x, 3G, 4G, none, roaming (not in that order it's random).
No calls are made the first try, have to redial after immediate drop of connection error.
I don't receive calls, I get voice mail notifications.
Texting is always with a indicator that no sms service.
Called Straight Talk and Version. Took sim out, reboot, factory reset, network reset: x1000 times. Tried a new apn.
No dial codes work besides *#546368#*713#, tried all the towers, etc. Only one with auto prl works. Tried all the modem options under field test. Nothing besides the issues still at hand or no service.
Both carriers have said after two weeks of calling them, nothing on their end and not being throttled.
I can't cast, mirror, screenshare, (the Internet says my model number can) but no native options to turn it on. Used shortcuts to get to these said native options. My device says connected to the tv, but my tv says "F*ck Off, with that sh.!t". I can't figure it out??
I can't get Qslide to work, naturally it's in my setting under > home button options. But nothing on the notifications bar like it says it should. I launch a "q-app" it opens and closes. Besides calc.
Thanks to anyone that read this and is interested in helping me solve this..
At the moment I am lost. I am pretty mid level tech handy.

I read your build.prop needs this:
ro.hdmi.enable=true
ro.hdmi.mirror.enable=true
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
So I think I am screwed there. I don't have those lines in mine
same phone mine works fine .....

Have any of you folks been able to get laf, fastboot, or edl to work on this phone?
Related
I've been rooted and running a few different ROM's for several months now.
I'm currently on XTRSense 5.0.1, having loaded it within the past week or so. All has been working swimmingly until this morning. I had used it to check weather and such before going to work (tho' I don't recall if I used home WiFi or 3G) and then hadn't looked at my phone till I got to work.
My phone signal was nil with an X over it. I tried toggling on/off for mobile network but the widget and the Options checkbox are both greyed out. I tried rebooting the phone and it still didn't come back. It prompted me to set my clock b/c it wasn't getting network time anymore (1st time I've seen that).
Feeling desperate, I even tried changing the NAM CDMA settings to EVRC-B just to see if I could "jiggle the handle" for the mobile network and get it going. All to no avail.
Text messages do not reach the phone, and calls ring through to voice mail (though not immediately, as though it were ringing the phone).
I'm at a loss and doubtful I could call Verizon to get much help.
Any help anyone can provide would be deeply appreciated!
Thanks!
cm
Disregard... Verizon must be have a weak day and my coverage is a bit dodgier than usual. I usually have better coverage at work, but I had to go hunting for better signal. I guess that's what I get for troubleshooting while sitting at my desk...
ok i got a i717 note and a att striaght talk sim card. I finially got the APN setting that came with the straight talk sim to save. Phone is making calls and messaging but the data services are not working. What am i doing wrong?
If your settings are like the ones in the screenshots I posted, then I would say there is likely problems with data im your area.
my settings are the exact same. no luck

also my carrier says "HOME" in the top left corner. I wonder if this has something to do with it?
Mine displays HOME when I pull down the notifications window and only for a few seconds when in the lock screen. Other than that it doesn't display HOME from what I've noticed. I don't think you have to worry about the what is displayed as the carrier's name. Since you are able to make phone calls and received messages (both SMS and MMS?) and the only thing that is not working is just data, then it's probably something in the phone configuration or a problem in your area. If you haven't done so yet I would recommend contacting Straight Talk.
What symbol, if any, do you have to the left of the signal bar?
I know this probably isn't the case but did your turn Wifi off? If not try turning it on or off and making sure it stays off so you can connect to the data network.
I don't know if you have done so but you could try a factory reset, not sure if this would help.
If none of the above works you could try rooting and flashing the AT&T stock rom to the phone or some other rom. (Consult this recommendation with someone more experienced here on the forums. Personally, I don't see more troubleshooting options.)
If there is no problem with the network and none of the above works then I think your phone may be damaged, unless it used to work perfectly with AT&T. Did you switch from AT&T to Straight Talk or did you buy the buy through ebay or on the street to activate ti with them?
I only have 500 anytime minutes, this is usually enough for me, but I've been taking many interviews this month. I only have 15 anytime minutes left and I have 9 days left on my cycle.
This prompted me to try and get Sprint WiFi calling working. When I approve my access point, and the address for it, it keeps saying "network connection error. Please try again" and it never works.
So I gave up on that, and tried integrating my Google Voice services with my phone for free VoIP calling. For some reason the app is only letting me text with it. This guide tells you how to make calls with Google Voice from Android: https://support.google.com/voice/answer/168520?hl=en but I am not getting the dialog screen asking me if I want to make calls with my Google voice. Whenever I call a contact it just auto rings with the normal dialer without asking.
As you can see from this picture I screen capped, my sprint recognized I have both Google Voice and WiFi calling enabled as services. http://imgur.com/qIirVrG
Not sure if this matters. But I soft bricked my phone and had to use the factory reset guide. That worked great, I even did the RTN Sprint reset to get my Sprint Spark apps back. I do currently have my phone rooted with Xposed and Tweaksbox installed.
Any ideas?
this is just a copy/paste from another thread I posted in, this fixed my WiFi Calling issues
I had an issue getting WiFi calling to work out of the box, here's how I fixed it.
- Forgot WiFi network I was trying to connect to
- Log onto my Sprint account and remove WiFi calling from my plan (click "Change my Services" from the drop down menu associated with the G3 then select the "remove" text next to VWDOM0 - Domestic Voice Over Wi-Fi Unlimited)
- Wait a few minutes and keep an eye on your phone; you'll receive a pop up saying "Changes Saved" or "Profile Updated". Something like that
- After I got the pop-up I entered ##SCRTN# in the dialer (phone will reboot and update profile)<----- (I have seen where ##UPDATE# works as well so maybe try both)
-Once my phone booted up and settled in I entered the WiFi Calling menu through the dialer app; I signed into my home network and went through the activation process to add WiFi calling to my phone
It worked for me after that. However it recently stopped working for me (last night) and all I had to do was enter ##UPDATE# to fix it

Super cool thanks for showing me this.
On a side note, Google Voice is making me rage. Google Voice provisions your carrier to accept Voice Over IP (VoIP), and whenever it tried provisioning it always said "network error". I uninstalled it, logged into my Voice account and disabled it from my Sprint phone, but it's got like a zombie network process still trying to provision it. Once every hour or so a message pops up that says "network error" and it wakes the phone and it won't go back to sleep unless you press "cancel" on the error message. Pretty enraging. Rebooting the phone doesn't make it go away either.
Oh well, I might be RTN resetting my phone in the near future.
EDIT:
Here's a screenshot of the network error. Is there any way I can figure out what process is displaying this error?http://i.imgur.com/99idKL1.png
I was able to fix my "Network Error" dialog box waking up my phone with an RTN reset.
Although I tried all of "fergie716" steps to get WiFi Calling working multiple times, and it still doesn't work. Sigh....
may i ask where do you get the app for Sprint Wifi called i do not see it on my list of app

Just so you know, Google Voice is not a gateway for free voip calling in itself. It is simply a feature server that sits between you and Sprints core network that adds enhanced functionality.
I do believe that calls over Sprint's VoWifi app are unmeasured, so this is your best bet if you are trying to save minutes.

Good to know. I feel like I've done literally everything trying to get WiFi calling working though. RTN resets with my MSL, multiple ##SCRTN# and ##UPDATE#. I'll chalk it up to my phone being rooted, I can't think of any other reason. I'll just wait for the bootloader to be unlocked for custom roms. My anytime minutes being out is only a minor inconvenience too, I almost never go over 150 anytime in a month, just so happens I've been out of work and been doing many phone interviews, which maxed my minutes. Luckily I landed a job, and my cycle resets in 6 days now.

I've had issues with Google Voice (And Wifi calling) and the only thing I was able to do to get it to work was call sprint and have them remove the services from my account from their end. I waited about 15 minutes and when I re-added them, I didn't have any more issues. For Wifi Calling, I did an RTN reset after the 15 minutes, and for Google Voice, I logged out, cleared app data and uninstalled, then reinstalled after waiting Maybe give that a try. I was rooted as well FWIW.

No, it just says "network connection error please try again" in the notifications bar. But it never connects to work.
I haven been noticing that I been missing a lot of calls and getting delayed text messages once in a while I am currently running on the t-mobile network here in the US. I have a one plus 6t as well and I tested it and I receive my calls with no one mention that my phone has went to voicemail. I have even performed a hard rest to see if maybe it was an app or a setting and still continues. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Call log shows no missed calls and asked several people to text me with the time they sent out the text and it's delayed at times for over 30 minutes thanks in advance
I've had an issue similar, no one could call me until I call them first, Just went straight to voicemail everytime someone tried to call me.. I think it has something to do with the Wi-Fi switch because I turned off the Wi-Fi and turned it back on and it corrected itself. I could still receive msgs but where delayed until then.

Hi mate,
I had similar issues (at least with delayed text's) when locked. It was a battery saving issue, just make the Messages always run without power-saving option enabled.
Had issues with calls when Call over WiFi was enabled (enabled by default), disabled it and now works flawless (even with VoLTE).
Yea, been having this issue since I replaced my S9+ with the Mate 20 Pro.
My MintMobile SIM registers as T-mobile on the Mate 20 Pro. Most of the calls I don't receive and my wife says it goes to voice mail after first ring.
Where in the settings I can make adjustments to help eliminate this issue? Thanks!

I'm having the same issue on MintSim in the US. Messages seem fine but sometimes calls seem to go straight to voicemail. There is no calls over wifi setting on my phone as far as I can tell (and no volte) so I would be interested if there is a fix for this as well. I never had the issue with my P20 Pro but it's happened several times with the Mate 20 Pro.
I'm tempted to manually input the MintSim APN settings but since the signal is very strong with the default T-Mobile settings I'm not sure how that could help.
I'm using the MintMobile Ultra APN settings. If I default to the T mobile settings, mms don't work.

This only happens to T-Mobile and most likely related to WIFI calling, incoming calls goes to voicemail right away for me sometimes (both Note 8 and Mate 20 pro), but my wife on AT&T never had this issue

Strange. With the default T-Mobile settings mms works for me and my signal app shows a stronger signal than with the Ultra settings.
Which signal app are you referring to? For me, I usually have to turn wifi off for mms to come in or sent out. It doesn't work when the wifi is On, with either the T-mobile or Ultra APNs.

Hi everyone,
Did anyone find a solution to the problem? I still have an issue with text messages and calls. I'm wondering if I should get a new phone....
Actually I just found one. I believe it has to do with Wi-Fi calling being on. Normally this option is supposed to be usable under settings and mobile networks, but since I'm using T-mobile I find the option completely off the phone or so it seems. I downloaded quick shortcut maker from the Google play store. Once opened I just typed in the top search bar Wi-Fi. From there you'll see 3 icons, a phone, settings, and wifi. Select the settings icon, scroll all the way down. Now you should see 2 entries that read Wi-Fi Calling, select the first one, the click on the middle button that says try. Wifi calling should be enabled, just switch it off and that should be it. Attached some screen shots of the process so it shouldn't be difficult. I was going crazy when people said they tried calling so many times but not one I receive or messages that are delayed for up to 30 minutes. I hope this solution helps anyone in this situation
Wi-Fi calling on my Mate 20 Pro is grayed out. So that cannot be the case for me.
Yea, my wife gets very upset when she calls me. Out of 10 calls, just one will come through. She will leave a voice mail, and hours later I will get the notification.
Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk
You selected the first one? When trying the second wifi calling option in shortcut maker the wifi calling was greyed out and the slider didn't work at all
Same issue
I've been fighting with my Mate 20 Pro since the day I got it. I'm on T Mobile. Some calls go to voicemail, some calls make it through. It's hit and miss. I haven't been able to find a common denominator. There's also a cellular data issue with the phone. When streaming video, the connection will suddenly drop out. The phone shows good signal, but it loses data. Turning the cellular data off and back on again fixes this issue. I think the data issue may still be related to the Visual Voicemail issue that T Mobile has with these phones. I was able to get Visual Voicemail to work (mostly) but I think the data is still affected by the Visual Voicemail issue , albeit to a much lesser extent than then it was before. I've been in contact with T Mobile and they have no solution to this issue. They did a sim card swap for me, but the issue persists.
Same sort of problem here. I'm on a KPN business contract, have been for many years. Never a call problem with the mate 9 and 10 but if people call me on the m20pro they don't hear the dial tone so they usually hang up thinking my phone is switched off or something. This really sucks!
I loved the m10pro especially but the m20pro is not my friend due to the calling issue and the really crap LG screen.
I've posted this issue on T-Mobiles Forum in hopes of getting them to take notice. Here is the link.

Hello everyone. I'm new here and someone recommended I join this forum. Having major issues with the phone. So here's the story.
Bought a brand new Pixel 6 from TMobile on Nov 8 2021. When initially setup, I backed up data from a Samsung S9 plus via my Google account. Took over 24 hours for all apps and contacts to transfer. Thought that was odd. For the first week I didn't know anything was wrong. Then people told me they send me texts and I realized I wasn't getting them. I tried texting numbers in order to myself and some where missing. Live in NYC area and 5g is very good in my area. Spent about 3 hours on phone with TMobile. They had me toggle off 5g and use LTE. Didn't fix the issue. Texts were delayed or missing. Only way to get them was airplane mode or restart the phone. Reset message cache and network settings refresh/reset. After about of week playing games with TMobile, they recommended swapping out the SIM card for a new one at the store. So I did that and texts were flying in. Phone was actually nice for a few days but then a new issue popped up. Incoming calls would ring but I had no way to answer. Screen was blank with no notifications other than the ringer. I could open the phone and it would go to the home screen but still no way to answer. Never got a missed call notification and the call log was frozen/blank. If I restarted the phone or waited a few minutes the call would sometimes show in the call log. Called TMobile. Tried resetting cache on stock call app, tried network settings reset but neither helped. They then recommended a full data reset and not to back up from my Google account from the S9 phone. Did a reset and started fresh. Problem still persisted. Called TMobile they only wanted to give a refurbished phone because I had it more than 20 days. That pissed me off and I battled their supervisors on the phone for probably 10 hours last weekend. Called Google and explained all of the above. They sent me a new phone. I set it up from scratch and got the same problems! Now I want to blame T-Mobiles network. Called them they said my line is clear of issues and blamed android 12. They told me Google has to update my phone and it could take 2 months! Got another new 5g SIM card and have the same issues. Finally today I called Google again and explained all the above. I'm told an update will be coming out tomorrow that may fix the issue. What gives? Can anyone verify any of this?
Sounds like you did all the right things. Maybe try disabling 5G for now if possible, see if this helps.
Does it happen in safe mode? Rule out 3rd party apps especially carrier. Try a network reset and have Tmobile reset it on their end.
Android 11 and 12 are a mess. Google bit off more Apple than they or the developers could chew
I'm still running Android 9 and 10 on my Samsung devices, neither will ever be upgraded past 10... lockdown.
Thanks for your reply. Disabling 5g didn't help. Tried it for a few days. Safe mode didn't help either. Network reset and TMobile reset didn't help. I did turn off adaptive connectivity per a 9 to 5 article. May have helped the text issue. Let you know tomorrow.
You're welcome.
Try disabling all power/data management.
Start digging through the default settings for everything. It's fun to do and you learn more about the device... you may even find a fix.
Yea, I tried messing around with everything. I even put a LTE SIM card in that I have and it seemed to work a little better. Tmobile, Google, and now I cant figure it out. Hoping tomorrow's update from Google fixes everything.
