CSC code of my phone - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

I have a single SIM 965F varient.
As per phone software info is OXM_OPS which is OPS single CSC firmware. ..Which is correct as I got my phone from my telecom operator. However Phone Info shows my original CSC as XEU and active CSC as OPS and shows XEU as multi CSC firmware.
Why two different results on my phone ?

[Q] CSC - What is CSC and which firmware suits my device?

Hi Guys
Apologies in advance if this is a duplication of the existing thread. I hope this information will be useful for newbies. Can somebody please explain in details:
1. What CSC is? What kind of information is stored in those files? Here I would appreciate an extended answer or a link to the detailed explanation.
2. How to find out the list of changes in a specific CSC version and difference with compared to previous version I have installed?
3. How to read CSC version and what those letter mean?
I will give you an example:
There are 3 different I9100XWKE7 stock firmwares on samsfirmware. All are called the same and the only difference is in CSC part:
MULTI - CSC - XEUKD1
MULTI - CSC - CPWKD1
MULTI - CSC - ITVKE5
4. How do I find out what the difference is and what those letters/digits at the end mean to determine which CSC version suits me best?
I would appreciate the answer to all 3 questions above and a recommendation on 4 to determine which one suits best my phone. I am based in the UK and am on O2 if CSC has something to do with the region and cellular network.
Thanks
Stas
CSC = country specific code ties phone to network and country .
There is no detailed explanation CSC contains a number of files as above text/XML
Versions listed on www.samfirmware.com might also be listed here with a search .
XEUKD1 = Europe
CPWKD1 = Carphone warehouse
ITVKE5 = Italy
. How do I find out what the difference is and what those letters/digits at the end mean to determine which CSC version suits me best?
samfirmware have the list
O2 you use the O2 CSC thaqt came with the phone or XEU .

thanks mate. Another quick question... Do you know how to check the existing CSC version? *#1234# works well for me on KDD while it does not work on my friend's device. He's on KE1.
noobie alarm ,
what is the multi csc for ? when i change mine to another csc via *#272#....... Kies tells me that my firmware version can't be updated, why is that?
i would be grateful for ur answer ;-)

Not a correct CSC code -

Hi,
I live in belgium but i have bought a galaxy S2 from a store with a CSC code that is not for my country ,
Its the code LUX, and i am in belgium, the codes for belgium are : BAE,BSE,PRO,XEB
is this normal and what kind of problems can occur?
Thanx
You can check/change the CSC with: *#272*{IMEI}#
where the {IMEI} value represents the 15 digits of your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity).
Personally, I use KOR and my phone works perfect.
change csc dont work
Hey,
I used the code yesterday, and says only LUX.
Flash a CSC if you have to from.
Stock Roms .and csc

I just wanna now what problems i can have with this wrong csc code,
Yes i know i can flash it. But if i buy somthing from a store in my country.
It needs to be with the correct code otherwise the store needs to give me a correct phone.
So the first problem i think i have i need to wait to luxembourg for the update, not the belgium update?
Any other problems that can occur?

From few to none .

You will have to take it up with the seller but one presumes they would sell the correct model .
So the first problem i think i have i need to wait to luxembourg for the update, not the belgium update?
CSC will have nothing to do with update that comes from the product code .
CSC contains a number of text files that have the varying network details and configurations .CSC is not required for phone to work if network details are entered manually .

Changing CSC to Unbranded FW

To give you a quick background, I have an unlocked i9300 that I use in the US. The current CSC code is VD2, which I believe is Vodafone Germany.
I would like to update my CSC number to an unbranded variant for the following reasons:
- Don't have to deal with carrier branding (nothing works anyway when I try to access from US)
- I can get the latest FW/Modems/Kernel without waiting for carrier to catch up
- Want to avoid using ODIN / bricking phone / loosing IMEI number
From what I've read so far, CSC code BTU is UK Unbranded and seems to get the latest updates like the LH1 modem, but when I run the *#272*IMEI_num# code, BTU is not one of the options that shows up. Neither does KOR and XEU. (I guess this only applies to the S2?)
So I would like to know...
1. What is the "best" CSC for unbranded firmware that will receive updates quickly
2. Is my concept correct to just update CSC and then I can use KIES to update my phone to the latest available Modem/FW/Kernel for that CSC.
3. I don't have to worry about loosing unlock on my phone.
Thank you!

[Q] Product Code Changed - How to Fix?

I purchased an SIII in Australia that is unbranded and not tied to a carrier. The CSC for this is XSA. However, I was initially having battery life issues so decided to flash the Stock Vodafone Australia ROM (carrier I use) to see if there were any network optimisations that I was missing out on. There didn't seem to be, so I flashed back to an XSA rom.
HOWEVER - it now seems that my CSC has been changed from XSA to VAU, and even though I have flashed back to an XSA ROM, the CSC hasn't changed back properly. I don't want to delay getting OTA updates by being associated with VAU, and have to flash the updates manually.
Can anyone advise how I can get back a proper XSA product code?
Before flashing to VAU ROM: See attached Before.jpg
After flashing back to XSA ROM: See attached After.jpg
When I use the *code to open up the CSC menu, there are no optioned listed to change back to the XSA CSC See attached CSC.jpg
Change Product Code ????
Or change CSC .
CSC loads of posts on the subject including CSC thread in the Guide .
CSC changer or similar on the market .

Well, I'm not sure what the difference is. My 'Product Code' is what has the VAU in it, but when I launch the CSC changer,it shows VAU there as well, but the CSC is the Sammobile app shows XSA.
The CSC changer apps just launch the CSC changer in the phone as far as I can tell (As per my screenshot attached), but there are no options in that list for me to select.

Question Help changing CSC code - flashing BTU keeps DBT CSC?

Hi, I have a new A52s, I bought it off Amazon, and didn't realise it was a grey import. It works fine with my provider (iDMobile in the UK), apart from WiFi calling. iDMobile say the problem is because it's German firmware (DBT CSC), so I started reading up on how to change this. All of the tricks using the phone dialer codes no longer work, so I downloaded the UK Unbranded firmware (BTU CSC), and flashed with Odin. However my phone remains as DBT. I ran Phone Info, and that says that my current firmware is only DBT CSC, with no others available. I did read somewhere that you could get a CSC change if you repartitioned with Odin while flashing. Does anyone know if that's the case? Or are there other approaches that I need to use to change the CSC?
I'm afraid I don't have an answer but I have the same question.
Am looking to buy an A52S 5G primarily as it's supported by my carrier for Wifi calling but carrier price is extortionate.
Flashing carrier firmware worked before on an old S7 but I'm not sure about doing the same on an A52s 5G.
How did you get on OP ?
I'm in Australia with a Taiwan BRI csc a52s.
Wifi calling never worked on android 11, but now I've updated to android 12 and wifi calling is working with my australian telstra sim!
Hopefully this means wifi calling is no longer dependant on csc.
What happens when you flash different csc firmware with odin?
