I have Verizon Wireless on my G965F- rooted, of course. I am able to get VoLTE to work, but not Wifi-calling. Do you know how to get it to work? Alo, note-worthy is in shortcut master, there are options for invoking Verizon wireless wifi-calling, amongst other providers in the US, but I get an error...
Thanks

So, I have an unbranded unlocked N8 I bought from Best-Buy assigned to my VZW account that was missing the "Advanced Calling" menu in settings. My wife's branded VZW S8+ has this menu. I tried the guides for other carriers to unlock WifI and HD calling, but alas, none of them worked. (I did however get the camcorder in the phone dial pad, but it didn't do anything) *******Still working on WifI calling**********
I spent hours testing settings in the IMS config via the shortcut app, all with no luck.
TIP: I called big red (VZW) on the phone and told them I bought the phone from bestbuy (didn't mention it was the non carrier unlocked version) and that WifI and HD calling menu wasn't on my phone. She told me my IMS wasn't configured on their end and she would update it. (This did not affect my grandfathered unlimited data plan)
Steps:
1. Call VZW and tell them you dont have access to HD voice on your phone and need help.
2. They will update the IMS on their end.
3. Turn off WifI, turn on mobile data.
4. Reboot and profit.
Ive uploaded a SS of the new option which wasn't there before I called VZW.
*****WARNING****** I seem to have lost the ability in the shortcut app to access the IMS launcher settings. Not sure if the 83mb update I took today caused it or not. Just warning you. I can still get into WifI calling via the app, however, it still crashes every time I get into it.
(Yes I know I shouldn't have taken any updates while we wait on eng. code to be released. Oh well I guess. )

You can always flash back to stock then...as long as it is server side as soon as it provisions, you should still get the goods...and be back to stock...this update does not lock you in...congrats though...
Does your Wi-Fi calling still not work? That's my only hangup of going with the Verizon rom.

Nope; works out of the box with Sprint & T-Mobile; haven't tested my AT&T SIM
You can get into IMS Settings by using Nova Activity launcher; under DEBUG INFO > IMS Information all should be true; if not VoLTE isn't enabled on the account or provisioning isn't completed; this can be done with a simple reboot.
Also; IMS Service Switch, make sure VoLTE Video is on for video calling; if/when VZW uses universal RCS profile you will have access to "iMessage" like features which Sprint/T-Mobile can currently use.
The Sad thing is total wireless morons have no clue what an ims is...

Thanks for the guide. Unfortunately after recent official Oreo software update, can't get into IMS Settings using either Nova Activity Launcher/Shortcut maker or through any other app.
Is there any way to enable "IMS Service Switch" thereafter enable VoLTE so that VoLTE option would appear under Settings->Mobile Networks?
Please suggest.
Thanks.
I would like a copy of the com.huawei.carrierconfig apk from a mate 20 pro that has wifi calling and volte enabled.
You can extract it with an app called APK Analyzer.
I am trying to see if I can find a way to enable wifi calling on a phone that doesn't have the option to turn it on.
I think volte is down to your carrier all mobile devices have the option but your carrier has to enable it to allow it to work

My carrier has both. My phone just doesn't seem to have the required config for it to work on T-Mobile US.

Did you use a sin card which already had been used in a phone with wifi calling?
Or was this a new sim? I'm thinking that they have to provision it for these features to work. I've had better success with Tmo in person at the corporate stores. Maybe try in person at an official Tmo store.
Have been using an OEM Motorola version of the XT1527 on AT&T, and since it only has the base wifi hotspot app installed, I can use it no problem since there is never a network check for a hotspot subscription etc.
Now I recently tried setting up both an AT&T branded XT1527, and also a Verizon branded XT1528, and was able to successfully get them 4G enabled, but since they both use a custom version of the wifi hotspot app, they denied enabling the hotspot.
I understand that once rooted, you can edit some files and change the config to not do a network check. Trying to avoid rooting if possible though, and see if there are other variations that may work out of the box.
How about Cricket or Cingular branded XT1527, does they have the same hotspot restriction? Any other GSM versions which may just be rebranded with all OEM software like my original one?
I am having a BEAR of a time getting wifi calling working on my phone on Mint Mobile.
I swapped the SIM card to my older note 8 and wifi calling is perfectly humming along. But on this phone it isn't.
I even rooted the phone, used magisk, and the hide-config prop. I enabled as many wfc, ims permissions as I could and still no go.
Anyone have any input or success for themselves?
Wifi Calling Works
It works in India.Don't know about other countries ?
I can confirm WiFi calling works on this device. India, airtel here. You may have to enable it in settings>network & internet>mobile network>advanced>WiFi calling.
Your carrier has to also support this feature
This phone is a fail in the US in so many ways. How can Motorola launch a phone here without bands 12, 17, or 71? Reception will be so limited outside of major cities and in buildings.
I was in an area with no tmobile network and was not able to use the wifi calling and mobile texting. I tried using tmobiles APN without success.
Anyone able to get wifi calling working?
I am on Mui global 11.0.11.
Any 3rd party rom with wifi calling working?
Thanks!
Correct. It doesn't work. This has been discussed before and is known. There's no apparent way to activate it. You can "unlock" the sliders in the settings menu for both wifi calling and VoLTE, but neither one works.
Anyone roms with working wifi calling and text?
Wifi calling does work with my Curtana 9S global. I'm on EE in the UK, no special permissions required from my operator, same with VoLTE. Both worked straight out of the box. Note the wifi calling icon in screenshot.
The problem might be down to your carrier.

I'm not saying I trust their word, but I spent some time talking to T-Mobile tech support, and he assured me it was a software issue. Maybe he was lying, but I'm hoping with MIUI, we may see it work.

I'm in your exact situation. I also use T-Mobile. I also don't have a network preferences option. I unlocked both the wifi calling and the VoLTE option using the phone dialer codes that are posted on here somwhere. But neither seem to do anything as they are switched on. I'm inclined to believe that it IS IN FACT a software bug because I also have a Xiaomi Mi Note 10 using the same exact software (MIUI) and VoLTE and Wifi Calling work fine on that device.

I hope mui12 will solve this issue. I need wifi calling.
I have Tmo as well. I was unable to get volte/WiFi calling to work either with stock or on Havoc 3.7. The only alternative I came up with was to activate WiFi calling within google voice as a backup. WiFi calling worked through gvoice. I tested by removing my Tmo sim, and was able to make a call via WiFi only.
I believe it is a combination of both software and Tmo network configuration. Texting is also finicky always. However, gvoice is the only solution that I have come up with.
My previous phone, Umidigi, WiFi calling did work on stock firmware, but not on third party.
I've spent way too much time dealing with T-Mobile tech support trying to get wifi calling to work. I think it is a mix of both software and carrier interference. From what I gather, the crux of the issue is that your carrier has to approve IMS Registration. I don't believe there is a way to force it, unless someone would like to tell me I'm wrong.
I love this device, but it is becoming difficult to keep with Wifi calling unavailable as my coverage in my house is terrible.
