Newly installed APPs - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hey Guys,
I have been using the Mate 20 pro for a month now and I was wondering if anyone knows how to activate that option where newly installed applications are sent straight to my screen rather than remain in the drawer until I create a shortcut manually. I cant seem to find the option in the settings.
Thanks

Yes you use Nova launcher, then you can switch it on in the Home Screen Settings section. ?

This settings for Home shortcut is there if you use Drawer home screen style, not Standard. If you use Standard home screen style all newly installed apps go on the Home screen, because there is no drawer.

I'm using Nova launcher, I have this switch off because I arrange all my applications in the drawer in to folders, tools, social, banking ECT. And frequently used apps on the home screen.

What ROM are you running at the moment or SE firmware?
That can determine if you can get the app drawer back or not?
And, how did you delete it?
Andriod 2.2.1
andriod 2.2.1 cyanogenmod 6.1.1
Or simply reflash or backup apsa on astro and restore.

Easiest way would be to install a different launcher.
I believe you can also add a shortcut of the app drawer.

[Q] Moving home screen icons

Hey I have a new razr maxx, and it is rooted. I cant seem to move the apps icon that is on the home sceen. I can move and change all other apps on the home screen except for the apps one. Any clues?
Thanks
Well, yeah, you can't remove the app drawer icon. Use a third party launcher replacement if you want to do that. No stock launchers for any phone I've come across allowed you to remove the app drawer shortcut.

You can remove app drawer icon in Go Launcher EX.

App icons missing from homescreen

When i'm in the system (non-oui) launcher and i drag an icon of a system app to the top to remove it, i get an error that it can't be removed. However the icon still disappears from the homescreens for some apps. The app is still visible in the app manager in settings and an icon can be added to the oui interface. The app isn't disabled
Can anyone tell me how i can get all invisible app icons back in my homescreens? I have a 1gb/8gb 2100mhz developers edition model with the latest stock software.
As a temporary solution i've installed an app drawer app...

[Q] Google Search Icon

I have a US SGP5 using latest Carbon ROM (thank you Meticulus) and the default Launcher3. The Google Search Icon at the top of all home screens is a solid gray bar with no text in it. Is it just me ?? See attached screenshot. Thanks.
Try to go to launcher 3 settings and turn of search bar. Then go to widgets and drag the Google search 4x1 to any place you feel comfortable with.

Thanks, Where might I find launcher 3 settings? It's not in my apps
Try to press the menu button on home screen and on the right go to settings and that should open your launcher 3 settings. If that doesn't work then try to go to your settings:home: and then you should be presented with trebuchet, Google now launcher, or launcher 3 (may just launcher 3 because it determines on the gapps). Then go to launcher 3 and open l3 settings.

Adding Chrome and app shortcuts to Homepage.

Anyone having an issue with Nova or Samsung Launcher in automatically adding new apps to the home screen or saving a Chrome bookmark to the home page? I can't get these two things to show up. Thank you.

Changes were made in Oreo that cause issues to place shortcuts on home screens. For example, Facebook messenger cannot create conversation shortcuts anymore but WhatsApp can.

Wow, are there any workarounds?

None that I've found. Not even using nova launcher. The strange thing is that Samsung back up did indeed restore home screen shortcuts, but if I wanna create a new one for the same app I can't
Using Nova Prime, I have no problem adding a bookmarked site to the home screen. Open the site, tap on the 3 button menu, and then on Add to Home screen. I tried it on three different sites, and it worked on all of them.

Is this from chrome? I have no luck with the latest version of Nova. Chrome says it's adding to homescreen yet nothings shows up.
