[Q] Flashing custom rom over installed custom rom

I have SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE S5830i and installed MindCr Rom v2.4. I wonder if i install another custom rom without flashing back the original stock rom will it work? I had done this before and it causing bootloop problem. Is there other way to do this?
Nope. Backing to stock ROM is important for CM-based custom ROM's. If it's a stock-based ROM, you can install over it but it MUST be a stock-based ROM too. CM7.2-based ROM's need Bieltv.3's kernel flashed via CWM and CM11 needs a MTD-compatible CWM (6.0.5.3 is the only one that works.)

There are stock based custom ROMs (like A.I.X., found elsewhere) and LOS based custom ROMs. AIX -- based on V30 stock Pie, Android 9 -- has improved LG stock camera.
Your won't have and can't have stock camera on LOS-based custom ROMs.
You can always return to stock firmware. Sometimes you have to go back to Nougat first to erase/flush out all the effects, then update back to more current stock firmware.
I'm running rooted stock Oreo myself.

Switching Kernels

Hi guys, my F1 is currently running on AEX ROM (no magisk) with the default Kernel that comes with the ROM (4.9.268-shiva-NoName-672764-g81a3f9555c2b-dirty
#2), So i was wondering if it's possible to switch to No Gravity Kernel without modifying anything else, Is it possible .?
I'm always having problems flashing custom kernels on top of custom kernels. My experience says that custom kernels need to be flashed on top of stock kernels.

Stock Rom to custom rom

How does someone go from stock rom (oreo 20k) to a custom rom?
Unlock bootloader: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76584629&postcount=193
Then flash custom rom using TWRP.
