Is this twrp flsshable? Or do like normal? Your OG post says "can't" in fastboot so that's where I'm getting lost

Extract anyone of the zip flash manually via bootloader mode by running the commands
fast food flash logo (the one you pick).bin
The new full mod contains a flashlogo.bat already
Simply boot into bootloader and run bat file and enjoy
Same for the A/B havoc logo.bin have made a simple bat file for them as well
Now for the twrp side of thing I keep running in to error(6)
No matter how I reconfigure
Reaching out to another Dev that might be able to help me reconfigure

Worked! There's a black screen for a few seconds but other than that, perfect!
Love to make my own. Hint hint ?
---------- Post added at 04:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:39 PM ----------
BTW, One issue I've had since I fastboot the first time (a bin file, can't say it was from a zip file), TWRP has not been able to do a backup. Fails everytime at system image.
At one point it wouldn't reboot to the rom. Kept going back to TWRP. Eventually I just flashed a new ROM (which I was about to anyway thus the reason for the backup).
Edit; haven't tried since I flashed this new one.

Same as previous. About a 2-3 second black screen.
Don't know if it matters but someone on telegram (didn't get an opportunity to read into it at the time) mentioned a bat file (but I think that may have been about TWRP).
And just outta curiosity, this stuff has progressed faster than myself. Is it necessary to remove security settings anytime I flash something? Have been just in case but I don't thing I do, just wanted confirmation if you have time

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN @ShinySide!!! Not only for root, but now for a working custom recovery. Truly the 2 most important tools we could have for our phone.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE:
As usual, be sure to give @ShinySide your Thanks/Donations/etc.!!! He deserves it! Also, now that you have TWRP you might be wondering what to do next. Here are a couple of suggestions of things that I've already done and that I am quite happy with.
1) Theme it! - Here are some themes you can try out that will not only make TWRP more beautiful, but also provide a layout that is more intuitive and user friendly. These are listed in a Galaxy S2 thread yes, but I've attached a picture of the one that I'm currently running and I'm happy to say that it works on our phone like a charm. I've also used these themes on other phones in the past. Just follow the instructions in the OP of that thread and give the guy some thanks on that thread if you like them. There is no risk in this btw. Either it works or it doesn't and to get rid of it if you don't like it you just have to delete the theme folder that you placed in TWRP. (Try to use the files that say "480x800" as that's the resolution of our screen.) Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2-plus/themes-apps/theme-materialised-t2933979
2) Add the Xposed Framework - Go to this link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62377731
Then, install the Xposed app from the link on that thread. After that, you're going to want to pick the file attached to the OP of that thread that is called "xposed-v80.0-sdk22-arm-custom-build-by-wanam-20160211.zip" and save it to the root of your external SD card. (Do not download the one that says "ARM64" in it. Just the one I mentioned.) Then, just flash it via TWRP and reboot. You should now have the Xposed Framework installed. Once, again be sure to give the OP thanks on that thread too!
NOTE: After flashing Xposed it may hang on the MetroPCS screen on the next reboot for up to 15-20 mins or so while it's doing stuff. If it's any longer than that, then just pop the battery out and reboot. It will boot properly after that while it reoptimizes some apps.
OK something not right everytime I flash the twrp I keep getting the 2.8.70 instead of the version of This 2.8.1.0 one I need help cause everything is correct I keep getting that old version instead of this new version but twrp 2.8.7.0 still works good but I want the version right here

2.8.7.0 is right. The picture I attached of my themed one I just downloaded from the theme thread because I couldn't take a screenshot from TWRP. Everything is good. No need to worry.
Thanks....glad to know that but everytime I reboot to system from twrp it keep going right back to the twrp instead of system that's what I worry about I have to keep flashing the kernel root cause the twrp not working right but ima get the theme to see what happens next

It shouldn't be doing that. Also, you should just make sure your TWRP is properly installed first before you do anything else to it. Maybe try rebooting your phone just by holding the power button once instead of selecting reboot system and see if it boots correctly then.

I don't think it's right now I have the same picture frame u have in the picture but still not 2.8.1.0 at the top it have the 2.8.7.0 up there at the top of it and another thing is I can't flash anything everything else good but can't swipe to install so I need to get this right cause I don't be having problems with nothing else when I do stuff for my device

Again, it is supposed to be 2.8.7.0 . Don't go by the picture I posted it was just a sample of what I had. Not a screenshot. Also, it doesn't need to look like mine to work. Theming it was just for fun and should only be done after you've successfully installed TWRP. Anyhow, try flashing this stock recovery file here. Then, boot into stock recovery and make sure you can still reboot to Android from there. If so, then go back and try flashing the TWRP recovery file again instead and see if that fixes the problem. No one else should flash this file by the way unless they are trying to go back to stock recovery for whatever reason. Thanks!

So, should this NOT work and it continues to reboot to TWRP what comes next? ? Ok, you got me. It continues to reboot into TWRP. I've never encountered this scenario before (granted I've never flashed a custom recovery via ODIN before either, but it went as expected up until I did a backup and tried to reboot into the system) and no, I didn't bother with trying to fancy up TWRP. I don't want TWRP looking unfamiliar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try flashing through ODIN again. Make sure you are in actual download mode (meaning don't use the option in TWRP, use the key combo), and flash it again.
Maybe we could get another youtube video? What do you say, "TheDerek"?

Ok, that's next on the agenda. Gonna take a walk and get myself calmed down before I resume troubleshooting. Thanks for the helpful and speedy response. And the bit about booting into Download Mode using the button combo over the TWRP option - I actually had no idea there was a difference there. I've gathered several boot/recovery zips and tars just in case and am tracking down the T-Mobile version of the g360t1 firmware as well (to cover all my bases, because when it rains it pours ?). Anyhow, I'll report back once I have something to report and thanks again guys ?

It has to be something you guys are doing during the flashing process that is causing it to boot into TWRP instead of Android. I would try flashing the Trapkernel again from download mode to see if that gives you boot, then if so, try flashing TWRP again. Both should be flashed in AP slot of ODIN. Make sure OEM Unlocking is checked in developer options, etc.
If that doesn't work and it still boots to TWRP, then you may have messed something up in there somehow. Try flashing back stock boot and stock recovery and make sure boot and stock recovery were restored. Once that's working, then you can try reflashing Trapkernel and TWRP. Use this link for more info on restoring your phone and for links to the stock files if you need them.

Try reinjecting TWRP using the option in settings.
IT IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE BOOT LOGO ON ROMS RELEASED FROM APRIL AND ONWARDS.
PLEASE READ THIS 1ST POST FULLY AND UNDERSTAND IT BEFORE REQUESTING A BOOT LOGO.
THINGS LIKE "CAN YOU DO THIS ONE" IS ABOUT AS MUCH USE AS A HANDBRAKE ON A HORSE.
I NEED TO KNOW WHETHER IT IS RK3066 or RK3188, THE DATE THE ROM WAS RELEASED AND THE RESOLUTION (800x480 or 1024x600)
Malaysk has been very kind to allow me to offer the service of changing the 1st boot logo and Recovery Mode logo to anyone using his great rom.
If you are using a different I can still do it, I will just need a link to download the rom.
If you want to have the 1st boot logo changed just give me a link to the image you want to use or add it to a zip file and add it as an attachment to your post.
I will also need to know the exact Malaysk rom version you are using (RK***, Resolution, Date of Rom)
The only down side to offering this service is it will mean you have to completely re-install the rom but you won't have to do a wipe so you won't lose any installed apps or settings.
I have tested extensively on my head unit with no problems but with any rom or mod you install at your own risk.
NOTE: If you find that you don't have root, just go to Factory Settings and enter code *#hct#root#
If you also want ADB enabled as well go back to Factory settings and enter code adbon
NOTE 2: The 1st Boot Logo and Recovery Mode Logo ARE NOT ANIMATED
Attached are some examples

Toyota - Moving Forward
Dear @Goose247, thank you in advance for your efforts.
Here I'm attaching the "Toyota - Moving Forward" logo, which would look very nice when booting in the 2008 Toyota Yaris. (that was Toyota's slogan between 2004-2012, when this car was made).
It's simple and aesthetic, and looks very professional, in my opinion. No super-fancy stuff needed during that first couple of seconds.
I attached both JPG and PNG, PNG is better quality, use whichever you can.
I'm using Malaysk's 4_4_4_800X480_RK3066 image.

Ok, to make things simple I will add the new boot logo to the latest rom for you so when you flash it, just flash it as per Malaysk's instructions for that version.
Boot logo has been done, just uploading to server. Will let you know when it is available for download :good:
Here is the link for Toyota Moving Forward Toyota_Moving_Forward_800X480_RK3066_35_MAL_13_02_2016.rar
I use 2 different methods to re-build the rom, 1 of them for some reason loses root and I have no idea why but if you find that you don't have root, just go to Factory Settings and enter code *#hct#root#
If you also want ADB enabled as well go back to Factory settings and enter code adbon
I have also used the same image for going into recovery but added "Recovery Mode" at the bottom of the logo.
I really need to figure out which method doesn't lose root for future reference
Take a photo and upload once you are up and running.
Can you share only .img file you modified? Which one is it?

Do you want a Honda one done? If so I need to know the exact firmware you are using.

I installed it, looks great! Thanks.
It indeed looses root, but entering root codes as you suggested restores root functionality properly. I'll post a photo later.

Install as a normal update, don't wipe anything. Once it has rebooted can you check to see if you still have root? I think I used the correct method this time.
If not follow the instructions on the 1st post.

Hey goose you don't know how to rezise widgets or launchers do you?
So out of curiosity I went to the ZTE USA website and checked when the next batch of Axon 7's would ship as I wanted to buy another one (don't judge) and I go down to Support, Software updates, and I see this(attached):
Is this the stock image that ZTE said they would post? It sure looks like it as its almost 2GB in size
Link: https://www.zteusa.com/axon-7
Thanks for the heads-up. Interesting that they would post an image for B20, not one of a later version.

What's interesting is that they haven't announced it yet
This looks like the factory image of the B20 pre-bootloader. I'm downloading the zip now, so we'll know more after analysts. So much about getting B27 or B29 as factory, but makes sense since that's where the sig change happened. And it specifically mentions it as image for fixing OTA failures because of B20_Boot OTA
It could be what we have been hoping for - at least that is a factory image. We can always use their OTA system to update from there

DrakenFX - check this out here. I just downloaded it and took a look at the updater script in it. This may help with an instruction set for turning future OTA updates into TWRP flashable zips.

So with this image, how would you flash it to a bricked phone? Do you have to have access to recovery to use the file as posted?
Nice find @bkores , posted on the 10/26 .....still this can be very helpful

I guess you do as you have to update from the sd card. I don't know why they couldn't have made it fastboot flashable but you should be able to flash the boot and recovery inside the zip with fastboot. As for the system I think you can convert the system.new.dat to system.img with some program and then flash. Someone feel free to correct me on this.
Can devs start "cooking" this? Removing stock apps etc etc?

This is basically a full (not-OTA) update file for B20 version. It is really only good for downgrades to fix soft brick where your recovery is still accessible or to get OTAs. It will not help with bricks where phone won't boot past ZTE logo or into fastboot. It will also not help with stock mods since zip file is signed. And it cannot be flashed via EDL or DFU mode. I hope this is not the thing they were talking about when they posted that meme with brick wall and stock market recovery.
For fastboot restore, we would need new fastboot image, since i think there is a flash (or pull) limit on file size in the current one around 500MB or so IIRC

Since this is a signed zip, there is no modifying it. Flashing modded rom would still require TWRP and could already be done since we have full /system dumps. And to use this to save you from bad flash, you will need to have access to recovery. TWRP could flash it i guess, but if you are in bootloader loop then not much help
This will remove the unlocked bootloader from your device at this time

I'm guessing this is because it replaces the emmc_appsboot.mbn / aboot file? Wonder if one can just delete that line from the flashing script to keep it unlocked.

If you are stuck on the ZTE logo on a bootloop, couldn't you use tenfar's tool to flash stock recovery and then use this full image to flash stock B20? It does have a boot.img in it that it installs during this process.

I am bootloader unlock and have TWRP.
I hope that Devs start "cooking" stock ROMS. Taking out system apps. Bloat etc etc
Kernel development would also be nice
*fingers crossed*
I'm really happy that they did something, but why couldn't they have just compressed the boot, recovery, and system img files into a tar file like Google does with their Nexus/Pixel devices? That way we would've been able to flash them in fastboot mode which could've fixed almost any brick with the exception of EDL/DFU mode in which case we could have used tenfar's tool.
If you remove this from the updater-script inside the update.zip, it is even flashable with TWRP takes some time to flash but it works!
Code:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "ailsa_ii" || abort("This package is for \"ailsa_ii\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\".");
assert(getprop("ro.product.name") == "P996A01");
ui_print("Target: ZTE/P996A01/ailsa_ii:6.0.1/MMB29M/20160707.171254:user/release-keys");
show_progress(0.850000, 180);
i believe i mention this somewhere, been crazy busy for me today
* You can either Flashed using TWRP or Install using Stock System Update app or Install using Stock recovery.
but that B20 update.zip will get you to Complete B20 software.

TWRP is a portable way
some people are scared of using fastboot + this way they can keep twrp without the firmware not liking it + the TWRP installation is much faster but this method is mainly for people who want to keep twrp without needing to modify anything, are scared of fastboot or want to do a quick install

Sometimes people don't want to do all the steps for going back to stock so having a flashable zip it's a bit faster and easier.
@Livi-Tech when I did flashable stock people had issues getting zip booted so I disabled dm verity and force encrypt from kernel but you can attach this to the main post so people don't run into the same issues.

It is, I wouldn't create something that didn't have a point to it, me personally I hate using fastboot because watching all the commands run kind of scares me a bit knowing something could go wrong
Fastboot
1) got to connect usb cable, open up command prompt, make sure the device is recognized
2) wrong command could mess stuff up
3) take ages
4) got to type in loads of commands
TWRP
1) portable method
2) automatic install
3) system doesn't play if you make modifications, flash any system modifying files, etc
4) much much faster than fastboot by miles

why do you avoid fastboot ( I already know some reasons someone might but curious about your reasons )
you've used fastboot before to unlock bootloader?
I've even tried fastboot erase all and all it wiped was data, System, cache so my device was perfectly okay, the Moto G5 bootloader seems more protected than other phones
and no I don't I was going to upload one but I bumped into problems on my device ( unrelated )

I have used fastboot a few times with sumsung devices but at present I have windows 10 and seem to get nowhere with it and yes I unlocked my bootloader I used one click root company to root and flash twrp £29 i think it's an XDA set up thing you give them permission to take over your computer and even their engineer nearly gave up after about 2 hours. I have used kingroot and Odin many time and persisted until success but with Moto G5 I surrendered and got help for the sake of time and energy. Plus your original post I thought said it was for people who struggle with fastboot. Like I said there is a stock zip available and it worked via twrp. If you can't upload them should you not delete the thread? Thanks:good:

I need someone to test ( not just the normal it boots up test because I already know it boots up and everything works )
My bootloader already says status: modified and right now I have an IMEI problem which is preventing me from making and receiving calls/texts, I won't upload my versions until I know they aren't going to trip the bootloader status or cause the same call/text problems I have for people who flash it
which is why i'm looking for a tester who doesn't care if their bootloader changes from official to modified and doesn't care if they lose ability to call and text.
with your fastboot Issue, could you have a look on my instructions in my [fastboot] thread and tell me if you get fastboot to recognize your phone, i'm not asking you to flash anything, just asking if you could use those instructions and see if fastboot picks up your Moto G5, ( i'm curious as to why your having so much trouble as I am also on windows 10 ) also currently what rom are you using on your Moto G5?

Wiil try and do
U think it will work on L24?
A bit of context here - my device model is BND-L34 (Mate SE) and I had tried using a method that a user posted in a Mate SE specific thread that detailed how to manually update to Oreo.
Well, that failed miserably and I ended up with a bricked device. I had tried numerous different things to try and revive it (some that I had come up with on my own) and none of them worked. Then I thought to use Multi-Tool to unbrick it with a backup I had lying around but unfortunately it was a Nougat backup.
I had almost lost hope until stumbling upon this thread. I figured I had nothing else to lose so I decided to try to restore my phone with Multi-Tool and your backup files - all except for the system image because MEGA decided to **** block me due to it being a large file (you should definitely upload them elsewhere, by the way), so what I did was use a stock system image someone uploaded in the OpenKirin RROS thread along with the rest of your backup files.
I had also gotten a stock ramdisk_recovery.img file from somewhere else (forgot where but if anyone has trouble finding a stock recovery for Oreo I can upload mine). And VOILA (hope I spelled that right)! My device is back to life on Oreo and I couldn't be more happy.
SO all in all, even if you didn't intend for L34 users to use these files, I want to thank you!

If twrp works, there is a patch file that you can use to unlock frp.

Would be helpful to understand what caused this problem though.

Ok. Some reason twrp does not good a good job with factory resets.
I suggest flash that frp unlock.zip
Then flash stock ramdisk.img and stock kernel.img.
That will remove magisk, for now anyway.
Then try to boot. If still not, then flash stock recovery and do factory reset. But if reset again locks frp. You will be stuck.
If you dont mind resetting from fresh system maybe just reflash with hurupdater or hwota, instead of flashing stock recovery.
