ROM for battery life and where is the debloated MIUI rom? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I'm looking for a rom and a good kernel that is very good on battery life. Also I want to try out the debloated MIUI. Where can I find it?
And is it true that the MIUI rom is the best for battery life?

try Xiaomi Eu rom ,with notification mod and restricted every app that you don't need so much. you might wanna clean rom more ,use lucky patcher and cleaned the rom. i did it my self.. trust me much better..

I am myself testing with Pixel Experience and the LKT magisk module. so far 2h of screen on time with only 20% battery drain, so i'd expect 8 to 10 hours of SoT just like that.
I've also heard malakas kernel has superceded Sphynx/FrancoKernel as the most battery friendly kernel you can install, but i have not tested that.
In the past, xiaomi.eu has given me better battery life than lineage/phh-treble in previous devices ( Mi MAX 3 ) so maybe combining xiaomi.eu + malakas kernel + lkt and maybe disabling half of your cores would give you a lot more SoT. I'll definitely post my findings in a few weeks on the SoT thread after i compare my current setup vs what i've just proposed.

I definitely want to read that post. Maybe I will try that later. Seems like this kernel is the best in terms of battery life now, is it?

zero ads in apps, advanced reboot menu, dark mode , zero miui bloatware yeah far better..

so what i did is i removed every useless app that I don't use, i removed stock file manager, music, video player, removed stock YouTube,i added solid explore, pwramp,mx video player in system and via browser and vanced YouTube ...black themed ..

At 299 euros, it's cheaper than getting, let's say, the BQ Aquaris X2 or the Zenfone Max Pro M2 for some unholy reason. and as a glorified Discord machine and music player... 2 high perf cores and 2 low perf cores are more than enough. and i get a battery boost on top of that!

There is this app called Naptime from the author of Franco Kernel that forces doze no matter what as soon as your screen goes off. so that should also help with miui rom sleep delays.
as for running themn on a lower frequency, i've found that chrome loves crash (locking the whole system up with it) if i make them go slow enough, so disabling half the cores at the stock speed seems to be doing the trick for me. Maybe both can be done within reason for some extra gains though

i think you should use revo os or miuipro. And uninstall apps magisk module terminal debloater or es file explorer.I am used pocof1 basic debloat.xml import terminal debloater and after other apps opened system apps and priv apps es file explorer andddddd delete folders

Considering deep sleep, would it be beneficial to go with NOS and Malakas kernel for even better battery? I mean there should be less bloatware and deep sleep could be less of a problem.

Suggested rom

Hi,
I should be getting a redmi note 2 prime any day now.
What rom would you all suggest to use on it ?
Has any one use www smiui net to cook a rom?
Do you have any issues with certain roms ? And do they all have gapps installed for playstore and chrome.
thank you all in advance
Mat
I use this weekly rom from MIUI europe

Dumb question, but is there any difference between the one you've linked and this one? AFAIK mine is the "official" one with only English/Chinese language, yours adds German, French etc etc?
http://en.miui.com/download.html
Yes, the rom on en.miui.com have only English and Chinese and no gapps, but it's official.
Xiaomi.eu rom have many languaged and gapps but it's unofficial

I guess it doesnt have. I dont remember. Because I installed gapps for google Maps on opengapps.org. Dont remember to choose arm64.
Using miuipro for now.

You can also use AOSP if you like stock android. I am currently using and everything works except HDR. Battery life is worse than miui but with exposed and a few tweaks you can improve it to >5h SOT and almost 0.01% phone idle drain (in 8 hours over night battery was at same level i left it ).

No it doesnt include xposed or wsm.
For now xposed only works at AOSP base rom.

Which AOSP Rom and xposed module / tweaks are you using? There are many out there and i always test new ones, but none had a 0.01% idle drain. Most time it's 8% in 10h. SOT is the same everywhere, but i got 6h with my rom, but like i said, the idle drain is a bit too much for having great SOT all the time.

sAOSP and mostly amplify + greenify. About idle drain; i am not sure if it really is 0,01% (in battery stats it says like 20% idle drain but battery was as i left it 10 hours earlier), maybe i am wrong or something ? also i saw it on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-0-0-hour-idle-battery-drain-stock-t2973588 and seems to work. And how did you get 6h sot on your rom ? i can't get more than 4h .

Thanks i will try amplify. I really don't know how my phone could handle 6h and 10min sot. I just wanted to make a test and i didn't throttle my cpu or anyting. I was expecting 4h maybe 4 1/2 hours, but it just didn't want to go out of battery. At the beginning i surfed a bit in the internet and then played a few games, but after a few hours it was guite boring so i decided to let it play youtube videos for nearly an hour. Than the last half hour games again, with the hope, that the sot test ends here and it did. I was very surprised from the result. The only problem on my rom was the idle drain, even with woking deepsleep...

Best Rom for battery life Redmi note 3 pro (snapdragon) ?!

Hey guys! I'm looking for a rom with a good battery! I used to have MIUI global stable and the battery was pretty awesome but i really prefer purer Android and i cant stand MIUI look (no offense)
is there any roms with a good battery life like the miui stable?? For example 8-9 Screen on time?!

Nope. No other pure android rom can offer such a great SOT times as miui. On RR im getting around 6-7h SOT without using 4g.

but i am still looking for the best battery friendly rom (after MIUI)!

you have to do it using "kernel Auditor" app and your phone has to be rooted! in my vase i flashed Santhosh's CM13, GApps & SuperSU Zip to easily root my phone!
you dont need a custom kernel! although custom kernels have more CPU & GPU governors!

Did not find any bugs but I am not a heavy or experienced user. Something I cannot control: Led Light colour
Also does not support the kernel denominator or radon (installed but I could pass through the lock screen).
I installed it, being in Miui8, unlocked (officially) bootloader.

Well yes, setting powersaving CPU governor is an option, but for me it resulted in many laggs (I'm a heavy user).
Btw. this 100% happens often. But it only applies to 100% charge, after that it will drop normally.

Kernel for OOS 3.1.4 & Battery question

Is anyone using any kernels with OOS 3.1.4? How's the battery life treating you?
Also, is there a version of bluespark for 3.1.4? I couldnt find any working builds in the bluespark thread.
I´m using arsenic kernel with the recommended profile. To be honest is nothing special, it´s just a bit better than stock kernel. When phone is idle battery loses around 3%.
I think bluspark does not support 3.1.4, he abandoned development I think.

I remember using that with mOOS and greenify with it. I chose zzmoov governer and easily got 5 hr SOT with the battery saving profile.
Yes I also used it with mOOS, and works better with it than with stock OOS, which does not surprise me.
Never used battery saving profile, but I reached 5hrs SOT though.

What are you on currently? Whats your best setup?
I have stock OOS 3.1.4 with arsenic kernel, greenify and Naptime.
I haven´t found the best profile for me yet, so I use the recommended profile in arsenic´s kernel (interactive cpu). Battery profile lags a bit for what I want.
As I play games a little bit more, I only have around 4hrs SOT.

A case of being overwhelmed by choice (ROMs, Kernels, and more)

Hi guys,
I'm a new Poco user. I've checked out the forums and saw lots of ROMs, Kernels and even Recovery software. I'm a bit overwhelmed for the first time as I'm liking stock MIUI 10 for now. Can someone enlighten me on which ROM has the most features, what ROM is the most stable, which kernels go best with which?
Stability: BaikalOS, Pixel Experience
Powersave: BaikalOS
Customizability / Extra Features: Resurrection Remix, crDroid, Havoc-OS / POSP
Performance: Nitrogen OS, crDroid
Pixel Like: Havoc-OS, Pixel Experience
These are the ones I know but haven't tested all of them. Tell me if I'm missing any.

It doesn't have the app cloning and battery life is a lot better if you manage the background apps strictly but you still have to install it and test it yourself.

There is no best rom or best kernel, it all comes down to personal preference...
Lineage Pie with Franco kernel.
..and go with pixel experience only if u r into very stock version which I think is overrated given its customization limitations.
I have always hated chinese ROMs or apps, take MIUI for example they have like hundreds of apps injected into core system (miui security, miui contacts, miui dialer, miui messaging, miui this that and what not...)

Hi fellow Flip! Yeah I went with Ambasidii rom based on stock MIUI since I need the cloned app feature for ROM (Slave priest). It's rooted and has derp kernel. Battery life is quite a lot better. I was redownloading all my apps overnight and it only drained about 7% of battery life which is 1% more than full stock on idle without WiFi.
By the way, do you do a battery recalibration once you switch roms? Standby time is fantastic on mine but it seems to drain a little harder while playing ROM compared to stock.

There's no need to recalibrated when switching roms. Recommended calibrating your battery ( each month or every three months )
android phones this days use lithium-ion (Li-ion) or lithium-polymer (Li-po) batteries for Poco F1 . This batteries don’t need to be fully discharged, and come with smart chips that make calibration unnecessary and that's the good thing for us.
Just want to share this method , i do this all the time after switching custom roms.
First, drain your phone’s battery completely. Don’t charge it at any point while it’s draining. Let the phone keep working till it shuts itself off. Once the phone has shut itself off, restart it so it shuts off again. Even though the battery was at 0 percent, it has a few reserves left. Now, while the phone is off, charge it to 100 percent. It’s safe to use quick chargers for this, but make sure you hit 100 percent. Once it’s fully charged, unplug it and boot your phone. Android might not say it’s at 100 percent, and that’s okay. In that case, plug the charger again and let it get to 100 percent. then unplug it. This cycle of full drain and recharging lets the chip calibrate its readings with the battery’s charge cycle.
hope that helps:good:

Which 9/10 ROM?

Hi guys,
I've got 2x 32GB Note 4's in the family and I want to take the unofficial jump from 7.0 (MIUI 11) to one of the very many, current, custom ROM's posted here...
My question is which one? There are loads
Stability is my primary concern - not that fussed about all the 'whistles and bells,' just stability.
Thanks.
Pixel Experience Plus Edition.
It is well maintained, updated and STABLE.
https://download.pixelexperience.org/mido
I use Servicely and Naptime from the Play Store to reduce battery usage when on standby.
Ideally you can also underclock the kernel using FK Manager, our phone runs normal stock at around 2000mhz when at max speed but I underclocked to 1400mhz and haven't had any slowdowns or stuttering.
If I do play a game, I use stock speeds or set a gaming profile.
9.0 lineage (official but support ended)
10.0 atom rom

Just pick one that is often updated so you are not too far back on security updates. Other than that all AOSP based roms are kind of the same with some minor differences in built in customization.
