Hi
I tried to add shortcuts to home screen from several apps but it's not working.
I tried to pin from WhatsApp, Telegram, Blackberry Hub, Chrome, Google Maps
Nothing happens. Actually Chrome doesn't even have the button to add to home screen
Android 9
Build 53.0.A.4.74
latest security Update
Thanks

Verizon GSIII - launching the stock browser gives me a blank page. I have gone into settings and set my home page as google and that did not work. I have restored the default setting for the browser and that did not work. any suggestions on how to get the browser to load the home page when launched?
Also, I would like to create a shortcut to Google Voice Search (Google search bar has it) so that i can use it as one of my lock screen shortcuts, but it does not show up in my application list.
Try clearing app data under SystemSettings->Apps->All->Browser
If that doesn't help - use Opera or Chrome from Play Market.
I'm not sure about lockscreen customizations - RTFM.

I don't have a screen lock as I hate typing a PIN, etc everytime just to get to my Home Screen. Plus that way (using Widget Locker) I can actually use the home button to get to the home screen from the lockscreen AND double tap the home button from the lockscreen to get S-voice.
So I installed Smart Lock to lock my e-mail apps and Facebook app. If the phone fell into others hands, those are the apps I'd want locked so that I'd have some time to go change my passwords. I suppose I also should lock the Google Play app since it has my payment info saved so someone could go on an App buying spree.
Any other suggestions of apps I should like? I don't store any sensitive data on the phone and could are less if someone started using my phone to text (hopefully I'd have my account shutdown before they could reak havoc with texting?) All other apps require their own password such as online banking, Google Drive, etc. Anything else?
I know any "smart" hacker can easily get around it. This is just to protect against your average non-techy snoop going through my personal stuff should I leave the phone somewhere.
U can set pin lock for purchases from play store. Check in settings
Sent from my head that has a brain!

Lock the settings app. Other wise some can just uninstall the locker app and use your phone uninhibited.
I have had my xtz for 3 days and love it, just trying to get to the bottom of a minor issue.
With chrome open if I press the recent apps button chrome will minimise and appear, however if I press the home button then click the recent apps button chrome is not visible, I have to re open the app to get back to it.
Just wondering if there is a simple fix for this? I'm using 4.2.2 .136
I'm guessing the simple solution may be to switch browsers? On my Xperia t I actually use the stock browser and love it, but this first seen available for the tablet z?
Thanks
Hi all,
Just set up my Australian version of the mate 20 Pro and it's going fairly smoothly however I noticed that I don't have "Google feeds" option in my home screen settings (see screen shot). Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Maybe it depends on your provider or country
As far as I know, EMUI comes with a feed called "HiBoard" and the default launcher only seems to support that. You can use NovaLauncher to get the google feed working though (in theory).
On mine theres an option in Home screen settings to enable Google feed by swiping right on the homescreen, I've mine disabled but it was on by default.
I get to it using settings, home screen & wallpaper, home screen settings, its then at the bottom for me.
I'm not using any 3rd party launchers, stock.
DOH! just managed to see your screenshot and mine is where HiBoard is on yours.

Hi! I received my Oppo Find N in the mail a week ago and with the help of all the information on this forum I've been able to pull all bloatware, install Google play store, and replace the default launcher. I am using the Microsoft Launcher and everything is working great aside from one function, I can't seem to get the recent apps button to work. The home button and back button work just fine. I've checked access, accessibility options, restarted, cleared launcher cache, cleared phone cache, turned off animation scale, installed 3rd party apps and to no avail, the recent apps will not come up. If I hold the recent apps button it does go into split screen mode as it should. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Any ADB commands I can throw at it? Help will be much appreciated.
This may be related to Android 13, which my phone was upgraded to before I bought it. Looking for options to downgrade. Will post a separate question about that.
Is there still anybody using buttons in navigation bar instead of gestures?
