Camera Audio Improvements At High Volumes? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

I regularly record concerts I play on my phone
The camera is perfect for this, and gets great video
The microphone, on the other hand, is some of the worst quality I've heard on a phone
I had an LG G3 before this, and the audio quality was more than suitable for my purposes
On this phone, however, as soon as volume levels reach a certain peak, the audio recording seems to "adapt" by throwing a filter on that makes everything just sound horrible
Is there a way to mitigate / disable this filter?
Is there a camera app that might record audio better than the default Samsung one?
I'm on a Snapdragon S9+, just updated to Pie today, unlocked, not rooted

Can I use an external mic?

Is it possible for me to use my Sony ECM-MS907 stereo mic with the SGS2 to record high quality live audio, much like I do with my portable mini disc recorder?

And even if is possible, I'd need some software on the phone to adjust the mic level, and I'd want to be able to have the mic override the built in mic when recording HD video. Basically, I want to record HD video with high quality audio all from the phone instead of recording audio on my minidisc simultaneously while recording video footage and then having the hassle of trying to sync AV afterwards. I somehow don't think it's possible to do what I want on this phone, but it seems some people have had success plugging mics into the iphone via the headphone socket.
i simple search on the xda forum showed me a lot of results

Voice communication sound quality issues

I am having an issue with sound quality out of Acer Iconia A501 tab with Honeycomb 3.2 installed (ROM Harkon 1.0, KERNEL HoneyVillian 3.7). Unfortunately I didn't test it with the stock ROM.
The problem: voice sound in video/voice chat software (Skype, CSipSimple etc.) is of very poor quality (very low volume and very high amount of background noise, as if i'm talking from a closet). The same is true for various voice recording apps.
The only exception so far is TapeMachine.
If I use a _wired_ mobile phone headset AND record using TapeMachine with AutoGain turned off and Input gain set to +20dB, the voice recording is of very good quality, clear and loud. But with the same headset the sound through Skype Echo Test Service is awful. A strange and a very disappointing thing is that with a built-in mic the same TapeMachine settings do not produce any change in voice quality - it was still awful.
Sound Meter reports my background sound (with the headset) at 40dB when silent and 65-70dB when talking.
My understanding of the issue is that starting with API Level 11 (Honeycomb 3.0) voice/video chat software uses android.media.MediaRecorder.AudioSource.VOICE_COMMUNICATION audio source, which is a "Microphone audio source tuned for voice communications such as VoIP. It will for instance take advantage of echo cancellation or automatic gain control if available. It otherwise behaves like DEFAULT if no voice processing is applied."
And it seems like it's not working very well.
My question is: could somebody, please, develop a hack that would allow tweaking of system wide echo cancellation and automatic gain control settings if that's at all possible?
Or is there any other solution?
Thank you!

Dolby Atmos in Nougat

Currently I am on 7.0 Nougat but it was available on 6.x.x too. When sound through speakers is at very low volume, i.e. first or second setting and with Dolby Atmos on (on most players or apps supporting it), I can hear this hissing sound especially on speech (movies) or let's say at the start of a song when there is a single sound only rather than a background/mixture of it. It is bound to the sound playing and is not just permanent noise coming from the speakers or headphones.
Before 7.0 I heard this "hissing" via the speakers only, now it's to be heard also via headphones so I believe it to be software related rather than hardware. When Dolby Atmos is off, the hissing/clicking-like sometimes noise is gone. Probably it still exists but is barely audible at all.
Anyone else having similar observations? I'm not a DTS/surround sound specialist but wonder if the issue relates to how different channels/frequencies are set to work coming from the phone's (two only) stereo speakers/headphones or has something to do with the included amplifiers. I mostly use the custom DA profiles where sliders are above 50%. If pretty down or with some of the extra settings off (normalizer etc), the effect is less audible but still exists. Once I get the volume up via the phone's hardware buttons, "hissing" kind of disappears but this is more to do with the mixture of sounds where speech/isolated single sounds are no longer audible alone.
For the above reason I've been avoiding having Dolby Atmos on in almost any movie, Kodi or even games, still I love it for the way it changes the entire spacial environment, so if I knew what's causing it I'd gladly go for a fix. My Axon is A2017G.

Audio recording quality

Hello, I've got my Poco, coming from Samsung Note 5. Have been loving many aspects, but I have tried audio recording (with Recforge app) and the audio is very distorted and with a lot of treble. Auto gain is not working also, apparently.
Any way to tune recording quality? Thanks

Recording video with external stereo audio

Hello,
recently I wanted to record some YT video using onboard camera but with audio via USB using external stereo audio. It seems it records audio in mono. I use Open Camera for that as stock camera app doesn't have such capabilities. Does anyone know it is normal in such top end device or it might happen with my tablet because I remove something with ADB Shell what I shouldn't remove? To be honest, I also have Galaxy Note FE (Note 7 replacement) which can record video with stereo audio as I desire. Although, I can't see what I'm doing because I have to keep phone backwards. On Tab S I can use front camera with wide angle option which is a must. What system apps might be responsible for stereo audio recording during video shoot? I removed so much of them, so I don't know? As I remember, I also removed almost the same stuff from my phone, too, but it works like a charm, except, lags and poor quality on front camera, and no wide angle.
Actually, I found iRig Stream Pro, which is supposed to do exactly what I want, and all YT videos shows video recording with onboard camera with iRig via USB and streaming all together. May this work?
