The 4.4 update has been confirmed by Morten Aagaard, manager for LG Denmark at a summit in Copenhagen!
Source (in Danish). Translation goes as follows:
"We're bringing an update plan for LG G2 for Android 4.4 KitKat by the end of the year or the start of the next year. But of course there will be an update for G2"
This is great news, guys! That French carrier "report" (which was slightly shady at best) was actually telling the truth!
How does that make you guys feel?
Did we ever doubt that it would get kitkat? We dont need confirmation to know this
And in my opinion the date doesnt matter unless its like supersoon to be excited about or superlate to be dissapointed, but this was expected.

I absolutely love what LG has done with Android. It's fast, customizable, beautiful and very, very stable. Not a single crash, and I've been using the phone a lot for six days now. However, transparency for 3rd party launchers and ability to hide the navigation bar would be cool. Otherwise I have no complaints. Best non-AOSP experience for me.
LG has impressed me so far, with the only problem being some of the performance problems (probably due to LG choosing a conservative scheduler and the aggressive throttling). This is with no doubt the best phone I've had. Samsung can go into a corner and adore their blue-screen-tech.
Nice nice, looking forward to it!
Well it's not very common for mfg's to skip an android iteration entirely. They usually roll them out incrementally. So yes, color me surprised they are jumping 4.3 and going straight to 4.4.
However, we should probably have some 4.4 lovin' before that in the form of some aosp rom.

actually i think we really do need an update, but it doesn't have to be 4.4 or whatever. we just need some issues to be fixed or removed in some places like low camera performance at low light in the camera, some stutterings and lags which are preventing the smoothness of the UI and etc. Unless lg get these done, i don't even care if they give android 5 or 6.
I come from TouchWiz so I don't understand what's all the gripe about. Samsung enabled notification bar toggle removal with 4.3 (not sooner) and LG's UI allows me to tweak and add and customize pretty much everything I want.
Case in point: when I plug in my headset, I can edit the apps in the bottom mini-drawer instead of using the preset.
All I'm waiting for from 4.4 are TRIM and ART.

And OpenGL ES 3.0 (from 4.3 but still new on G2)!
Contrary to popular belief, it's not all that uncommon for companies to skip updates. I had the Sony Ericsson xperia x10 which was updated straight from eclair to gingerbread, skipping froyo. It happens, and excitedly believable in this case simply because the phone was launched behind an update. I expect that lg will go through 4.3 and straight to 4.4.

The Oneplus 2 has been available for reservation on jd.com, a site similar to Amazon, in China for the past week. Over 400,000 people reserved the phone. A reservation allowed the purchase of the phone starting 9:30am this morning. I managed to snag one and should take delivery of it later this afternoon. I was a bit disappointed to find out that it comes with HydrogenOS instead of OxygenOS. However, I'm sure that can be rectified in the near future. I purchased the 64GB model for 2399RMB, about $385USD.
Anyone else living in or ordering from China managed to get their hands on one?
EDIT: It just arrived. The build quality is impressive, especially coming from an LG G3. The accuracy of the fingerprint sensor in my brief tests was good, and I like the ability to unlock from standby. Not a fan of HydrogenOS, but I can see that it might have some appeal to people who like a more minimalistic android experience.
i also live in china and thinking to buy it ,i am just curious about camera quality and how much different hydrogen OS from Oxygen OS?
@khr0n0s Please post Antutu Benchmark results and Camera samples. Also comment on charging time and battery life.
I was gonna buy this or the new moto X, was inclining towards the moto X which would release in September, but now I am thinking that I'll just wait for the new OnePlus phone coming later this year. A company executive said that that phone would be the 'premium' phone, and that u don't think they are gonna add more than 200 $s (which would add up to the same price as the 64gb moto X style) to the price tag no matter how Premium they make it. Also, it is likely that that one will have the snapdragon 820 and a 2k screen. I hope this one has no hardware issues so I can be much more confident in waiting for the upcoming one, knowing that it likely won't have much hardware issues as well.

@ali_ge - You might have difficulty getting hold of one. I was just lucky. They sold 30,000 units in 64 seconds! HydrogenOS is very simple and has no home screens / widgets. The phone boots up in to an app drawer with a large clock at the top. Not many options to customise. It also has no google apps, but that is no different to any other Chinese handset. There is an english language option, but there is still quite a lot of Chinese notifications especially in the bundled apps. I will definitely be switching to OxygenOS when a ROM becomes available.
@bhu1 - Has the premium one plus been officially announced yet? I read an interview with Carl Pei in which he said it would be more about style than specs, but it was very vague. Even if they do release it later this year, if they use the same invite system then it will be difficult to get hold of for a few months.
@vaisakh7 - I'm at work now without the phone. I can post the benchmark and sample pictures this evening. I don't plan to use the phone as my main handset till I can install a custom recovery and flash with OxygenOS. This makes measuring charging time and battery life difficult.

Well yeah. Bootloader can be unlocked even now.. The thing is that we don't have factory image of OxygenOS yet.. As soon as we get it, we can flash it via fastboot.. Or we have to wait till International Version of OP2 goes on sale.. Then someone can easily upload the ROM Zip and we can flash it after unlocking bootloader and flashing custom recovery (we will have to wait a week atleast for a custom recovery imo) ... Or we can still do via fastboot but that will require extra efforts...
So hope OnePlus releases factory images of OxygenOS as soon as possible.
Is it possible also to unlock all international WCDMA/LTE bands when flashing OxygenOS on chinese version?

You don't have to unlock anything as it works just fine out of the box. I also ordered a 64GB version from Aliexpress.
edit: ok, LTE bands B5, B8 and B20 is not supported, but it is not a big deal for me as I mainly use B3 and B7.
I'm curious about the Antutu Benchmark, camera output and battery life.. OP, if you could posts more details, that would be great..
@Mermaidss @Aisakh7 @riyadh - AnTuTu benchmark as requested:
Here are some sample images. I think the camera is as good as LG G3.
For comparison, here is a low light photo from the LG G3 running Cyanogenmod:

Both images were taken using default settings. The OnePlus 2 is darker but more natural.

OP, please install this and let us know!
hopefully the oneplus 2 china version situation is same as oneplus one, the hardware was the same but the band support was actually controlled by the rom (the radio I assume).
Apart from speaker support (502Q model does not have one), new 6.0.1 update brings lots of performance improvement over last 5.1.1 firmware. It does not unlock extra cores of cpu or boost clock or anything, but overall smoothness makes everything function better already.
It used to lag, freeze, miss my input attempt or even drop my swipe action and press random places where I did not intent to press. They are almost gone. I am not saying it is smooth as butter, but input mechanism and performance improvement is really visible.
Apart from that, nothing really changes in functional perspective. Little minor tweaks here and there, and that is it.
But I'm very happy indeed to have 6.0.1 on this watch and finally it is a pleasantly useful device to have on my wrist.
Good job, Google. Bad job Asus, not putting a speaker on smaller variant without mentioning it.
+ I didn't have a chance to test call control functions which did not work properly before on my Galaxy S5.
The same on my smartphone, MM running much better than LP.
I would be suprised if its different on the watch...
Sounds great. Quick question: does the Always On screen Option is still available?

Scratch that! I got mine Friday... Battery life is freakishly better... Mine was charged Friday morning. Battery ran out Sunday afternoon with ambient mode on full time! Speaker is OK (not gonna use it so really don't care lol). Finner controls over permissions and DND mode was a good one too!
Enviado de meu XT1097 usando Tapatalk
Looks to me that it's smoother because they slowed down the animations. Still takes a while to move around the menus, it just doesn't look as bad.
I get the same battery life as before. Ambient mode on, minimal FaceDesigner custom face. 100% in the morning, ends up at ~60% at bedtime.
Sorry misread, thought 1.6 (6.0.1 threw me off)
Is there a plan to make voice a two thing? It would be great if Google Now could respond in voice like on the phone. If it is currently possible to have a two way phone conversation, would it take much to get Google Now to do the same? Would be great or is this a thing that will be way in the future?
Hi!
From today I'm owner of ZenWatch WI502Q. I notice that you are talking here about ambient mode but 502Q model doesn't have ambient light sensor. How can you turn it on? There is no option for turning it on and I'm running latest update.

Aha. Thanks for answer.
I have seen plenty of negative reviews about this phone, some people complain about the fingerprint sensor, others about screen issues... I really like the divece specs but I'm hesitant about buying it, I'm between this phone and the xiaomi remdi note 4x. Please if you have the phone, how long have you had it and do you have any issues?
Heyyo, for the fingerprint reader? It works amazing on the stock international ROM but it will only function properly on custom ROMs with a modem firmware flash to Chinese latest modem or developer version.
I have an x829 4GB ram and 64GB storage I bought from coolicool. I've had it since the middle of March.
The stock ROM is some kind of modified EUI ROM so it won't receive support from LeEco and only through the company you bought the phone but tbh I hated this modified international EUI. It has extremely aggressive automatic ram clearing thus some apps fail to send notifications for new emails (outlook) at random same with some other apps. Plus YouTube randomly froze the video feed and the quick toggles placed in the recent apps section instead of the notification drop down also sucks... So I didn't end up staying on the stock EUI international ROM for long lol. EUI ROM is a perfect example of "if it's not broke don't fix it"... EUI would have been better if it was closer to stock with tweaks on top... Mainly automatic RAM clearing and the notification quick toggles.
It is easy to unlock OEM bootloader so it should be darn easy to lock it again. I made a TWRP backup of everything so it should be super easy for me to go back completely to stock if I need to.
Custom ROMs are pretty good. Mokee and Ressurection Remix are fantastic Marshmallow ROMs and for Nougat? They're still in development but so far Resurrection Remix Nougat has been pretty darn good albeit it is pre rooted and heavily modified so it fails Safety Net so fingerprint reader may not work with some banking apps same with Android pay.
Currently there isn't Vulkan or Daydream support on the Nougat ROMs but that might come in time.
So what I'm saying is... The only problems I've had with mine are purely software. RR MM or Mokee MM are perfect but I love helping with ROM development with testing plus seeing upcoming changes that I can't help myself and be on Nougat even if there's bugs heh
Would I recommend the x829 like mine? Yes to those who don't mind tweaking with custom ROMs. Marshmallow ROMs are perfected now and Nougat development is exciting. I don't regret this purchase.
I highly recommend checking LTE band compatibility to your carrier before purchasing. In Canada with Koodo mobile it works perfectly as it has the required bands.

Thanks. Performance is the same so?
All official Max2 ROMs are terribly outdated and contain tons of security vulnerabilities.
This phablet is anandonware in regards to official support. If you want to be on a safe side you must use LineageOS or ResurrectionRemix. However both contain serious bugs and certain features from the official ROMs are missing. RR is much better though. LOS is laggy and buggy as hell.
Exchanged me le max 2 for one plus 2..
Till now.. All i miss is the fast charging
Great new Official Build for Le Max 2
Hey everyone,
I read the questions regarding Indian and Chinese Builds, I bought the x829 version to find out it was never officially released by LeEco in the US so... next topic flashing ROMs...
I got the phone with "International Version" x.16 and found also that chinese version was almost in version 21 and indian in 19.
Because of some/many comments in chinese build with messages and other stuff in chinese I though on installing the indian rom.
Before that I tryed the ROM that came with the phone and it wasn't bad but made the phone a bit slow...
After installing the indian ROM found out that it had encrypted several mount points in the phone, tryed restoring it with no encryption but failed. The good thing, odd also, is that after some retries in TWRP to enter recovery, after some reboots, it goes right in the menu like if no encryption was detected.
Liked some features in the indian rom, one of the things was the unlocking of the phone, if you swipe from the right then the numbers would be closer to the side, center and left behavior the same.
One other thing that I miss and keep looking for a possibility is the disabling of the home and front buttons, in the Official LeEco Builds this is a possibility by pressing one volume and power button if I'm not mistaken, but in game this makes a huge difference, sorry everyone I use this phone for gaming it is massive! I keep pressing by mistake the buttons and exiting the games, would love to see this feature in the new XDA Build for X2 (Le Max 2)
Original build had an Antutu of 120k, but didnt feel like it. Indian ROM had only 80k... now I see Chinese version in x.23 don't know how it is but was curious.
What do I have on my Le Max 2? the new Official XDA 7.1.2 build. Much better than the last marshmallow version probably because of the Nougat Android but although both had an Antutu between 150-155k this newer version is indeed faster in games and apps, no hanging of any kind. Probably needs some tuning but as for now it has been GREAT! Tnx for that!
If you want a build that probably gives more sense to the phone itself, try the Chinese ROM, if you want something lighter and more functional, try this new Nougat XDA Build
Ohhh fingerprint sensor stopped working after first installation who cares...??!!
Regards,
Pedro.
