What do you expect, its LG, the G6 is dead/forgotten.
Well, a new update is a new update. But i don't think we will see any major change in the near future.
This device is almost dead at this point...
6 month no update...I thought they left us. 6 month again for Pie I guess, if we're lucky.
It's still in the Android Enterprise Program, so there should be two major updates guaranteed.
On the other hand it also says there should be security patches every 90 days at least so there's that...

Actually I have no complaints except the security patches. Because Oreo is still good and not that old compared to pie also with this latest update I notice that battery usage a bit better compared to old rom. I think we are gonna get the pie but it is gonna take time . No worries there is no big difference between Oreo and pie.

Yeah, I guess you are right. Also with the Pixel experience theme and the G7 Launcher (swipe up for app drawer), I feel like using Pie anyway.
Would like to try the native gesture navigation though.

The update seems too large to me for just "security". 3xxMB is allot.
I got the update and I don't see anything different. Seems exactly the same
Just got off phone with lg and tmobile there is a KNOWN issue and reason why all devices haven't got the update and why it was halted and why oTA or lg bridge dont give u the latest BUG FIXES and SOftware stability ! But they want "me" to spend my $ LOL - the resolution was TBD they don't know when the update will come....TRASH

So you`d rather get a quick and buggy update then a stable one a bit later. I choose the latter one, besides that my phone is running great on 10F tbh and have no issues.

I rather informative communication versus the ambiguous responses received thus far. Not sure why people who allegedly have the update are commenting as if to discredit that there is something gone wrong with others, not to mention I was just on a 40 minute call with both companies and there is a known issue they aren't sure when the update will be "available" even though the website says it's available as of May 15th -
Don't worry. 10h seems to be a little wonky sometimes. Maybe it's just me but the only way to see is with a new update
On 10h myself. No issues. Wonder what bugs they are referring to.

Mine just seems to stutter sometimes. Nothing major at all just not as fluid as when I first got it. Not many apps I try and keep them all closed outside of FB
Connected phone to netbook, fired LG bridge and got it right away, been rocking it since yesterday and everything is good.

I don't know how it will be like. We didn't get the chance to test a final build before release and there was a few battery issues with it. But with those who were waiting for it its finally here!! Backup your stuff and go update!
No daydream support is a deal breaker for me. Staying on stock Nougat then.
Thank you for the post, OP. I hope everyone who doesn't use Daydream will enjoy it.

That is incredibly stupid. It's like they didn't bother fixing the bigger more complex issues possibly that they're not competent enough to do so. Those issues being an encryption problem that occurred during beta testing where some beta testers that updated over OTA from nougat to Oreo were stuck at an "to start android, enter password (or pin)" and the only way out was to factory reset. If they didn't fix that, then they didn't fix the overheating and battery drain issues. Disappointed.
nice one, that's for USA. Any news on the 2017G?

Agreed, releasing an update that removes features. If we wanted a ROM that didn't function 100%, then we might as well stay on custom ROMs. Better off doing so in some cases.
Seems this is only for those who don't know how or don't want to learn how to install custom ROMs on their phone.
I know that's pretty obvious, it's just a shame.
Removal of daydream would be a good trade if it did something like help improve battery life and performance. Both of these were already good enough on stock nougat though. Battery was terrible in the oreo beta from what everyone reported

I installed it from SD. Had to go buy one though because I never used one ...anyway...tried installing using ADB and that will NOT work. Installed just fine from SD. This is only my backup phone so I did not set it up completely to mirror my daily driver, but it looks good. The default launcher is OK. I regularly use Nova Prime. Everything I tried worked great. I do not use Daydream or anything like that so no loss for me.

In the scheme of smartphone updates, if you gotta have the "latest and greatest" OS on your phone (not counting security patches),
you'll have to get either:
Apple iPhone, Google Pixel, Oppo OnePlus, Essential, or a couple other phones.
Most Android phone manufacturers, don't bother with updates, for a few reasons. One, they don't want to spend the resources
to make sure the new OS works with their goofy UI/bloat garbage, and older hardware. Two, it's been easier to talk people into just tossing them in the trash and buying a new one.
My phone (huawei mate9),works PERFECTLY on Oreo, has been getting the monthly security patches about 30 days late.
Would I like to have Pie? Yes. Will my life be impacted if it doesn't happen? NO.
IF, (and it's a big if), Google's Treble works out, phones SHIPPED/Released with Oreo or later, will have "major" updates and patches done by google, and the UI/bloat done by the carrier or manufacturer.
It would be nice to have gestures without a 3rd party launcher... also additional battery savings. I know the phone is already phenomenal on the battery , but we could all use more juice. Screen rotation is also going to be more to my liking with Pie.
I will post when I see the update.

Imo nightly battery drain is horrendous. Phone idle, Mobile standby and Huawei home uses too much during the night.

Running it now, albeit the leaked beta for the note 8. With the polish that this build seems to have I would highly expect it within the first two months of 2019.
Overall, the UI is a huge change. But overall I seem to like it when paired with some of the android pie changes. It feels snappy and so far user friendly.
I am still a fan of the stock android (pie) ui but this is definitely my favorite OEM skin so far.
I hate the fact that the Snapdragons get betas and leaks, and then after the official streams kick in, Exynos is bombarded with releases and Snapdragons remain behind.

I agree, this build of Pie, and One UI feels very good. AR Emoji and Bixby Vision are broken, but I don't ever use those features so not a deal breaker. Adaptive Battery is included with this build, I'll be interested to see how battery life is affected by this feature. All in all a very nice change from Oreo.

Yeah but who cares about snapdragon models, but good for them to get something..
Apparently, closed beta ONE UI for Note 8 Snapdragon is up already.

I have a T-Mobile Note8 that already got CRK1 and installed this update last night; it was working totally fine, except for any 'Sunset to Sunrise' time settings, that would turn off every time you turned the screen off. It seriously is a good upgrade from the stock Oreo UI; much more clean, unified, and snappier.
But this morning, I woke up to my phone basically soft bricked. It just sat charging last night, and now it just randomly vibrates here and there, and the lock screen just doesn't show. I can make it do things with adb, and the camera will launch, but otherwise, its basically useless. I would skip this build.. I still haven't found a solution but to download CRK1 and downgrade back, which I'm waiting for the download to finish now. Reinstalling this beta and clearing the system cache didn't do anything.
I have a theory to why sd gets leaks more than exynos. Countries like usa brand the phone heavily and perhaps need to test it more and earlier to push out the update. That's also why they get the update last..
Just my 2 cents opinion

Just a quick update on this: the phone was actually working fine like that on the beta, it's just that my Good Lock's LockStar wasn't working; this happened again when I updated to DRL6, but I adb installed the new LockStar to get it to work again.

Man, my wifi signal was lost during the OTA download and it failed. Now when I go to check for software udpate again, it doesn't see the new Pie OTA. ugggggg.
You're better off without it. New LG image is missing features in the last one, especially for AOD. Honestly I want to figure out if I can re-ROM it with the last one.
Well just had to factory reset to get OTA download to start again. Updating now!

Just happened to be looking for alternatives yesterday & today, as my 2yo AT&T V30 was starting to fail (alarm fails to go off, Chrome won't launch, security failures after using [email protected], preventing tunnel use). Had rebuilt just 3 months ago to no avail (stock).
Very glad to see the Pie update unexpectedly show up, and I'm hoping it to resolve all my issues (which I admit doesn't make sense).
That's wild, mine is still stuck on the March 2018 update. Fingers crossed I get an update soon!
-Bluetooth handoff from headset to car doesn't work...
-Dialing numbers in phone, hammers each number like 5 times...
-Landscape is near useless with the top bar being so big now.
-Night mode + High contrast Theme + Black wallpaper kicks ass! Love dark themes
-Performance is a little laggy, no major issues so far.
-Highlight magnification bubble with text select is cool.
-Power off and power on seem faster
-Just a few items I had noticed thus far on Pie...
-color icons are back on top status bar.
-Too many changes to list in one post... Still finding things too
