Hi All,
I am from the UK and purchased this watch a few weeks ago, it arrived while I was away but since returning I can't get certain apps like Samsung Pay, I am led to believe I have been sold a watch which was not meant to be sold in the UK hence why I am missing features. I have unfortunately run out of time returning the item.
Seeking some advice on how I can go about loading on the correct firmware, if at all possible to get Samsung Pay (one of the main reasons why I purchased the watch)
Model Number: SM-R500
Serial: R5AM305HXGH
Software Version: R500XXU1BSB7
One UI Version 1.0
Tizen Version 4.0.0.3
I have done some research and found a post relating to my model watch - https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm.../sm-r500-watch-active-stock-firmware-t3913696
Any help appreciated on how I can do this.

I wanted to buy a Samsung Galaxy S II. The webshop where I would buy it, has a pre-order price of 549€: http://www.smartphoneshop.be/product/123781/samsung-galaxy-s-ii.html
However that model is without NFC chip, so I cancelled my order. They also told me that Samsung will not release an Galaxy S II with NFC for the Belgian market.
So my only remaining option is to buy one abroad. I'm not asking for generic web shops, I ask for very specific experiences with web shops that are able to deliver to Belgium.
I have also found out that there are different variations of the Galaxy S II. As far as I know, these are the main differences:
processor: Nvidia Tegra or Exynos --> for now, it's equal to me.
display: AMOLED or LCD --> I prefer one with AMOLED
NFC or not --> I really want one with NFC.
I already know that the UK is out of the question (for now), because the UK models don't have NFC. I read somewhere that models with NFC may come available for the UK in the coming months, no date confirmed yet. Maybe in June? If that is true then I can wait another month, no problem.
How about other neighboring countries? Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy,...
Of course this would have to be a phone that is not locked to one telco.
I have not found the answers of these very specific questions in the FAQ. Why am I asking this on XDA-Developers? Because I want to dive into Android development, and I have some ideas that include NFC technology. And why a Galaxy S II? I was in Barcelona at the MWC when Samsung launched it, I got to play with it, and I was really impressed.
So far .

Thanks. I overlooked those, and I guess my initial search was a bit too generic.
Hi i brought the tab from the following seller on e bay, its been delivered but I'm away in Thailand until Sunday so couldn't check myself. But can anyone answer this.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300570883052&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Will i have any problems putting the UK stock on it? Or are the EU and US WIFI only tabs the same model number? hoping i haven't shot myself in the foot by ordering it through ebay.
Sorry if this has been asked / is a stupid question.
Thanks
The auction never mentioned P7510, but from the specification, it is 8.6mm, it has to be the P7510, which you can load any ROM on it.
I bought the 32GB US model from ebay and i've loaded the Euro Touchwiz ROM featured on here with no problems but went back to the Stock US ROM it came with. I have used both CWM recovery and ODIN3 methods and they work well. I found the Touchwiz ROM a bit buggy and slow but I heard that version was a BETA version so i'm waiting for the US release of the upgrade next week, hopefully it will be better.
It's released here in the UK next week so it might come with a version catered more for this region.
Hi everyone. I am desperately trying to find the answer to this question and I am running out of time. I am presently on holiday in the U.S. and I have calculated that i can buy a Galaxy Tab 7 Plus in the U.S. for the equivalent of around £ 280.00. That is a huge saving on the U.K. Price. However I want to make sure that the Tab will be compatible with the U.K. Google Market first. I just want to make sure that as the device will be software registered as a U.S. device it will allow me to use the U.K. Market. Or is there a work around? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you get back to England you may just have to do a factory reset but not likely it should be fine for a sure answer would be best to ask in the device forum
Thank you for the prompt response. I will ask in the appropriate forum as you suggest.
I would check with Samsung UK. Send them an e-mail.
My Galaxy 10.1 tab has suffered from the 'newton ring' screen defect for a while now (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130230 if you don't have long memories) but it wasn't too bad so I never got around to getting it fixed. Anyway, I had to take my phone into a Samsung service centre recently so I thought I'd get the tab done at the same time.
It's still within 2 years from purchase, but was bought in the USA so I was kinda expecting the warranty question to get raised. Nope, they took it fine, HOWEVER they now say that they can't repair it at all as they can't get the appropriate parts because the USA and UK models have different screens and they can't put a UK part into a US model. After a bit of further questioning they also said "and the software is different too", which is quite true but completely irrelevant to a pure hardware defect (and a known one at that).
Before I go and pick it up, could one of the experts here tell me if the physical screen and/or digitiser are any different between the original USA Galaxy TAB 10.1 (Wi-Fi only) and the original UK variant? I thought they were all made with the same generic parts in the same factories? Any part numbers or reference sources would be very helpful too. Thanks!
Andre
I have a UK tablet and i've never heard about different components lol.. I don't think there's a difference between the tabs, it's not that we have a different ROM that we also have different components, i came from android 2.3 UK and running cm10.1 now with a US bootloader on a UK device, problems, samsung?
Anyway,, i never suffered from those newton rings, i remember the link you posted, but i will not laugh too loud my tab is 1 year and 1 month old now
Thanks, that's very much my opinion too from everything I've ever read about this defect, the screen and digitiser are common components between the US and UK models.
If anyone can give me any more info or hard facts (e.g. do Samsung USA and Samsung UK have a spare parts website where I can compare part numbers?) that would help before I go back into the service centre around noon today. Thanks!
Andre
Hello all,
I have been waiting for the Z4 tablet to come out for awhile and I'm starting to lose patience with my Nexus 7 (2012). If I were to buy the international versions that are popping up on Amazon, and I get the wifi version, are there any things that the international versions would lack that the formal U.S. release would have? I've never purchased anything that was not a U.S. device so I'm not aware of if there are things like Google Play Services that would not be functional (as is the case with the Nokia N1 when it was first released).
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
