For those who don't know, F900U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the Galaxy Fold. The F900U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM unlocked and with no carrier bloatware. Firmware is 100% interchangeable among these models: any U or U1 firmware version can be flashed to any U or U1 device at any time, assuming that you're not trying to downgrade the bootloader. A "U to U" or "U1 to U1" flash does not require a factory reset, but changing from one firmware to the other will require one. Also, U firmware is identical for the 4 base files (AP, BL, CP, CSC) for each individual build, no matter which carrier it comes from. So if you download 2 different carrier versions of the exact same build, the 4 base files will be identical. Where the firmware differs is in the USERDATA file - that's where the carrier bloatware and customizations reside.
Manual Odin flashing is designed for those who:
- want to manually update to a newer version of U firmware on their U device, either because they don't want to wait for their carrier's OTA or because OTAs aren't working on their device, or a different carrier got a new feature/patch before they did
- want to flash U1 firmware to their U device
- want to convert from U1 firmware to carrier U firmware
- want to convert from one carrier's U firmware (with all apps and bloatware) to a different carrier's U firmware (with all apps and bloatware)
For those who aren't already aware, anyone can now download firmware for almost any Samsung device any time that they want, via SamFirm or Frija. There are threads and info about them here on XDA so I won't waste time explaining - do a search if you're not already familiar with these tools. But AT&T doesn't allow their firmware to be publicly available (for any of their devices). I pay for a subscription to a site that gets the official releases (usually) before they hit SamFirm/Frija, and also gets me access to AT&T firmware, so that's where my files come from. However, I don't have unlimited bandwidth on the site, and it's also quite time consuming to download the files, zip them up, and upload them to AFH. And, I do threads like this for every single Sx and Note x model - so I won't be uploading every single version. I'll definitely do at least one build per bootloader level though.
This is not a "beginner's guide to Odin flashing"-type post/thread, so I won't list basic, step-by-step instructions. My threads are geared towards those who already know what they're doing. If you're new to manually flashing Samsung firmware, I recommend you consult one of the "beginner's" posts/threads - there are tons of them here on XDA.

- I compress extra small for space and bandwidth savings. The default Windows extractor can't handle it, so you'll need a 3rd party tool like 7zip, WinRAR, etc
- My naming method for Android File Host folders is: build - bootloader - Android version.
So "SAT - 1 - 9.0" means the full build number ends in SAT, it's bootloader version 1, and Android 9.0. When bootloader and Android versions increment, the first build to have those changes will have its folder notated appropriately.
- HOME CSC file keeps data intact; using the other CSC will wipe data.
- I pay for a subscription to a site that gets beta builds and also sometimes gets the official releases before they hit SamFirm, so that's where any of my files come from. I will only be posting versions that I get early access to, and USERDATAs that aren't available on SamFirm or Frija (AT&T). The newest/latest firmware files for all carriers other than AT&T can always be obtained via SamFirm and Frija.
- For USERDATAs (all the others are self explanatory):
AIO = Cricket
CCT = Xfinity Mobile (Comcast)
CHA - Spectrum Mobile (Charter)
TMK = Metro PCS
- the correct procedure for switching from one carrier's firmware to another is:
1. Flash full U1 firmware package including non HOME CSC
2. Upon boot, insert a SIM of the carrier whose firmware you want
3. Watch for the popup that says "reboot to apply new carrier settings" etc, and do it
4. After that restart completes, reboot back to Download mode and flash the full U firmware package, with the USERDATA file of the carrier whose firmware you want
Interesting development, as we approach the release date for the now-redesigned Fold: U1 firmware has appeared!
I have no idea if they were planning for a U1 model all along, but that firmware never showed up earlier this year. I still haven't seen any new U firmware, but assuming that I get access to at least the launch version before the actual release, I'll post it when I get it
Build SH9 has appeared for the U model, along with an AT&T USERDATA. Files have been uploaded to the OP link

I don't understand your question.
First of all, numbers come before letters. 9 is older than A. If SH9 and SHA were both released for the same model, then SH9 would come first, and then there would be an OTA to SHA.
But SH9 is U firmware and SHA is U1. You can't OTA to a different model's firmware.

XAA is always used for U1 firmware. Manual input is required in order to get it, as of right now. They'll probably change that once the device actually releases

AFH's servers are crap, half of the time. If you ever get a slow download, just reload the link and try a different mirror
Really want to do this but have never flashed any type of Samsung software before. Was checking guides but none of them seemed exact. Don't want to Brick my fold and even though I have AT&T I don't want to be behind on updates and have bloatware.

It's impossible to brick it. And yes, there are tons of very precise and exact Odin flashing guides here on XDA. Odin flashing is always pretty much the same process, no matter the model. Put the phone in Download, make sure you have the right Odin version, extract the zip, load all the files, plug the phone in, and click Start
What is the site you pay a subscription for?
I have a small question... will I brick the Fold, if I flash this to the Korean Version of the Fold (SM-F907N)?
The only version I could buy in where I live is the Korean version, which is a 5G model, but I really want to use my credit cards from USA. I guess I have to have a Fold with USA firmware to use Samsung Pay with credit card from USA, but I don't know what would happen if I flash this firmware... I am okay with losing the 5G, I just want the Samsung Pay works with my credit cards...

You can't flash it. Odin won't allow you to, because those models are not cross compatible. If you want a Fold that does US Samsung Pay, buy one from the US and have it shipped to you

I recently got an unlocked galaxy s9+ (sm-g965u1) and i like to at least have the latest firmware on hand incase i need to flash it. sammobile has multiple firmware files available to download. seem to be carrier specific. what would happen if i flashed one that says, say, AT&T? currently it has no carrier apps built in.

Far as I know it would just have the all the carrier specific apps and what ever little carrier additions the firmware has that the U1 firmware didn't. Granted I have the Sprint S9+ but if I go from the Sprint firmware, to U1 firmware and back to Sprint firmware and that's what happens.
Though what I have been using for the unlocked firmware is at the link below. If you download any of the supplied G965U1 firmwares from the tutorials on the forum it's the XAA firmware.

Just wanted to post this so if you have a G973U1 all hope is not lost.
The update size is 604.97 MB and it included night mode in camera.

Please help--where do I go to get the update firmware to upgrade from Android 9 to Android 10 or later and please give info for how to do the upgrade.

You can use websites like updato, sammobil or samfrew to download firmware for your phone.
Or you can used a PC app called frija to download latest firmware.

ok-Ihave been researching your suggestions-- and the answer is not easy--it is actually complicated because of all the different firmware codes just in the US.,
I can hopefully track it down using my new phone CSC code(I'm learning fast for a newbie)
The reason why I need at least Android 10 is because I will be loading the 'Gcam7.4 and maybe higher.
If I can find out which US version of firmware to flash(and how to do it properly), I still need answers to the following--
---Because this is a US version S10 SM-G973U1 -fully unlocked and no Carrier--
(1) Do I insert my Australian SIM card into my brand new phone BEFORE it is turned on for the first time and BEFORE I flash the new US firmware?
(2) Or do I turn on my new phone for the first time, and flash the update US firmware BEFORE inserting my Australian SIM?

2. I am not sure whether the US models work in Australia. Best bet is to try putting in a sim card in and see if it works ie: phone, messages etc.
3. Have a read of this, it will give you a brief understanding of firmware names and CSC codes.

The seller sent me a message to my questions-''it does not matter when the update is done--before or after the SIM card has been put in'', so,should be no problems here - and you also say it's ok to leave the SIM card in while flashing.
I can't give you a screenshot as I am still waiting for the phone to arrive.
I've been reading the Frija page-looks easy enough for me to do.
Frija will give me the correct and latest firmware(on PC) and then I use Odin to install the firmware into the phone,correct?

Updating phone can be done with or without sim card.
Just make sure with frija to enter correct model number.
Download firmware, extract firmware ( I use 7zip ) put In Odin.
May still need that screen shot when you get the phone as may have to use patched Odin.

I found the following youtube that explains easily how to use Frija and Odin to update the firmware.-
I used the model number you gave me and downloaded the firmware update.
I will double check when I get the phone,incase the number is different.

Sorry for the l-o-n-g delay in getting back to you.
I did receive my S10 -red color, as soon as I opened the shipping box,I knew I had been sent a FAKE.
I didn't have to open the retail package as I knew what to look for(thanks to youtubes about fake Samsungs).
The front and back of the retail box were identical to the fake one in the video.
But the seller also made a big mistake--they sent the wrong model(thanks to someone putting the wrong label on the shipping box at their warehouse) - they sent S10e instead of S10.
Anyway,it was easy getting my money back due to their ebay store return policy.
They know I know it's a fake and they are worried about the feedback I have yet to leave for them.
At this point, I am considering a refurbished S10 ''as new'' from a REPUTABLE online AU seller.
Or a new S20 FE Snapdragon, Australian version (plenty of retail stores have it over here).
What ever I get--I'll make sure it isn't a fake and at least,you've helped me to learn a few things,like going to Samobile to check the right numbers,and,if necessary, use Frija and Odin to update the firmware..

I'll also upload any full builds if AT&T is the only carrier to get that specific build, because you won't be able to find the files anywhere else.
- For identifying USERDATAS, and to know what region/CSC to use in SamFirm/Frija:
ATT = AT&T (not available via SamFirm/Frija)
CCT = Xfinity Mobile (Comcast)
CHA = Spectrum Mobile (Charter)
SPR = Sprint
TMB = T-Mobile
USC = US Cellular
VZW = Verizon (available via SamFirm/Frija, but Manual Entry is required - Auto will not work)

i use frija and samfirm already , but they only provide latest firmware , not previous firmwares, also samfw is free and not slowed down like sammobile or samfrew.

Yes, but like Mega, it downloads the file into RAM first, before converting it to storage space. So anyone with a PC that has less than 8 GB of RAM can't really use that site

Did this ever work?
Bootloader 2 updates are rolling out - both Sprint and AT&T are both getting build TG1. It's already up on SamFirm and Frija for Sprint, and I'll add the AT&T USERDATA as soon as I get it.
To add another option, I'm also adding all of the files for the last bootloader 1 update - TF1 - and its AT&T USERDATA. Those files are now uploaded to the OP links

Thanks to everyone in this thread for pointing me in the right direction.
I wanted to drop by and say I was risky/dumb enough to try converting the phone from the AT&T branded firmware to the Samsung unlocked/unbranded firmware and I was successful.
The reason I did this was because I had terrible service with Verizon on the at&t firmware. I tried everything. The phone refused to detect band 13, Verizon main band despite it being the strongest at my house (I know from other devices). The AT&T firmware solely connected to band 66.
Anyway, I used patched Odin to flash the unbranded (SM-F700U1, Region XXA). It booted up without the AT&T branding, rebooted once it sensed my Verizon sim, has no AT&T bloat, and connects to all of Verizon bands.
Service is great now. And the unbranded firmware is so much snappier somehow.

Hi iBowToAndroid, I've got nothing but mad respect for you and your posts. One of your other posts seriously helped me get my Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G unbranded. This is a great service you do for us and it's much appreciated. With the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G though you were kind enough to upload the generic U1 firmware to AndroidFileHost as well, so I was able to get the firmware for that one from AFH. But I understand that for this phone (Z-Flip / F700) you chose to just upload the AT&T specific version since AT&T doesn't allow their firmware on other websites, again, much appreciated. But this left me searching for where to get the U1/XAA generic unbranded firmware. Your first post mentioned Frija and SamFirm...
1. I tried to use Frija but I've searched for Model SM-F700 / SM-F700U /SM-F700U1 / F700 / F700U / F700U1 with the CSC of XAA and each and everytime I got the error "Error 102: Unable to find firmware for ..."
Maybe you could help point Frija users to exactly what to put in for Model and CSC? Just let us know what to search for / input into Frija and we could use that.
2. You also mentioned SamFirm also has it. But a quick google search for SamFirm brings you to https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647 and the very first thing you see is "This tool is deprecated. Please use fw.updato.com" so it seems like SamFirm is no longer being supported, but I went to the website fw.updato.com as mentioned and the only phone they have is the SM-F700F (international version). They don't have the SM-F700U or U1 that I could see.
So I was at a loss where to get the U1 firmware.

But then I didn't know the difference between F700U1TBU2BTGE vs F700U1UEU2BTGE both have the same date. So that's why I posted here, trying to get some clarification on just which one to download.
HOWEVER, to help others, I found on sammobile that I could select the U1 firmware, and odd enough I could select "USA (T-Mobile) (TMB)" as the country, which again confuses me because U1 is supposed to be generic, not carrier specific; and it's more odd because there is no T-Mobile version of this phone. But I noticed sammobile then poinmted me towards "F700U1UEU2BTGE" (UE firmware) so that kind of helped make my decision for me. I chose to download F700U1UEU2BTGE from samfrew.com and I flashed it with a patched Odin and it took. The phone booted up, generic, and seems to work just fine. No AT&T or any other carrier, bloatware.
tldr; So for future people searching, if you want to change it from an AT&T branded/specific model to something Generic, go to the website samfrew.com/model/SM-F700U1/region/XAA/ and grab the latest UE image.

SamFirm and Frija both still work perfectly fine, and both pull F700U1 firmware perfectly fine. Literally just verified it on my own computer
For those who don't know, F707U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The F707U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM unlocked and with no carrier bloatware. Firmware is 100% interchangeable among these models: any U or U1 firmware version can be flashed to any U or U1 device at any time, assuming that you're not trying to downgrade the bootloader. Also, U firmware is identical for the 4 base files (AP, BL, CP, CSC) for each individual build, no matter which carrier it comes from. So if you download 2 different carrier versions of the exact same build, the 4 base files will be identical. Where the firmware differs is in the USERDATA file - that's where the carrier bloatware and customizations reside.
These are used for converting from one carrier's U firmware to AT&T's, or from U1 firmware back to U firmware with AT&T features and bloat. These are much tougher to find than other carriers' files due to AT&T's policy against public hosting of their firmware files - they can't be obtained from SamFirm or Frija or SamMobile. But I pay for a subscription to a site that gets AT&T files, and also sometimes gets other carriers' firmware files before they hit SamFirm/Frija, so that's where my files come from.
So I'll be uploading at least one USERDATA for each bootloader version, and I'll do the full firmware (for at least one build per bootloader level) if AT&T was the only carrier to get that specific build.
Since firmware is universal on U models, for a full flash you can use the other 4 Odin files (BL, AP, CP, CSC) from any other firmware of the same build. You can probably even mix and match builds (as long as the Android version is the same), if you can't find files for the exact same build. You can't mix and match bootloaders though, so the other 4 files have to at least be from the same bootloader level.

- My naming method for AFH folders is: build - bootloader - Android version.
So "SAT - 1 - 9.0" means the full build number ends in SAT, it's bootloader version 1, and it's Android 9.0. When bootloader and Android versions increment, the first build to have those changes will have its folder notated appropriately.
- If the phone doesn't do it automatically, the correct procedure for manually switching from one carrier's firmware to another is:
1. With no SIM inserted, flash the full U1 firmware package including non HOME CSC
2. Upon boot, insert a SIM of the carrier whose firmware you want
3. Watch for the popup that says "reboot to apply new carrier settings" etc, and do it
4. After that restart completes, reboot back to Download mode and flash the full U firmware package, with the USERDATA file of the carrier whose firmware you want
- USERDATAs for any other CSCs/regions can be gotten from SamFirm or Frija - for the latest version. If you need an old USERDATA for a CSC/region that's not commonly found, let me know and I can probably get it.
- For identifying USERDATAS, and to know what region/CSC to use in SamFirm/Frija:

Thank you. So I flashed everything with odin. Trying to de brand from att to unbranded. I flashed successful but the att logo and bloatware are still there. tried to use Tmobile user data, but does not overwrite theatt one. Am I doing something wrong? maybe forgetting a step to delete att userdata before flashing tmb's one? Thank you

What (if any) are the differences between the US models (F707U) and the European models (F707B)? Can European builds be applied to US models? I'm asking because Android 11 has been released for the European models but not the US ones yet.

AT&T USERDATA for Android 11 has been added - build TL6.
I also added the full firmware package because I didn't see that anyone else had uploaded it on AFH yet.
From now on, you can expect AT&T USERDATAs to be added right away, when new bootloaders and new Android versions are released

One UI 3.1.1 for U firmware was just added - go get it if you're interested!! Build UH4

For those who don't know, N981U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the Galaxy Note 20. The N981U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM unlocked and with no carrier bloatware. Firmware is 100% interchangeable among these models: any U or U1 firmware version can be flashed to any U or U1 device at any time, assuming that you're not trying to downgrade the bootloader. Also, U firmware is identical for the 4 base files (AP, BL, CP, CSC) for each individual build, no matter which carrier it comes from. So if you download 2 different carrier versions of the exact same build, the 4 base files will be identical. Where the firmware differs is in the USERDATA file - that's where the carrier bloatware and customizations reside.
Samsung firmware flashing (if you have Windows) is done via a software tool called Odin. Manual flashing is designed for those who:
- want to manually update to a newer version of U firmware on their U device, either because they don't want to wait for their carrier's OTA or because OTAs aren't working on their device, or a different carrier got a new feature/patch before they did
- want to flash U1 firmware to their U device
- want to convert from U1 firmware to carrier U firmware
- want to convert from one carrier's U firmware (with all apps and bloatware) to a different carrier's U firmware (with all apps and bloatware)
So these files that I'm posting are used for converting from one carrier's U firmware/bloatware to AT&T's, or from U1 firmware back to U firmware with AT&T features and bloat. These are much tougher to find than other carriers' files due to AT&T's policy against public hosting of their firmware files. Anyone can obtain the latest/newest version of firmware for pretty much every other carrier (and also U1 firmware) at any time via many of the software tools published here on XDA - SamFirm, Frija, and SamFwTool are some of the examples. You could also download firmware from a website like SamMobile, but most of those type of sites are going to have very slow download speeds unless you're paying for a plan. I pay for a subscription to a different site that gets AT&T files, and also sometimes gets other carriers' firmware files early before they hit the Samsung servers that the software tools pull from, so that's where my files come from.
I'll be uploading at least one USERDATA for each bootloader and Android version, and I'll do the full firmware (for at least one build per bootloader level) if AT&T was the only carrier to get that specific build. Since firmware is universal on U models, for any USERDATA where I don't have the full build posted, you can use the other 4 Odin files (BL, AP, CP, CSC) from any other carrier's firmware of the same build. You can use one of the aforementioned software tools to download it, if it's the very latest/newest version released for that carrier. Or otherwise you can search on AFH or SamMobile etc. You can probably even mix and match builds (as long as the Android version is the same), if you can't find files for the exact same build - I would recommend getting as close as possible to the USERDATA version though (eg. if the USERDATA build ends in TKx, look for a TKx build of the full firmware).

Well yes, going through a 3rd party service is the only way to get the bootloader unlocked. But that has nothing to do with a SIM unlock, which also needs to be done if it hasn't been already. For either bootloader or SIM unlock, i can provide a recommendation for a reputable professional business if needed.
Yea I meant the uicc unlock, been up for way to long and mountain dew and pixie sticks are not cutting it. I am looking into one now, who would u recommend?

sim unlocking isnt allowed on xda.. typically its a grey area even more so than bl unlocking since usually its not possible to determine if said device was obtained legally and is paid off/owned by the user (not implying anything towards you of course) since normally to sim unlock a device is done through carrier once device is fully paid off and requirements are met.
That being said, if you want to bl unlock then you can check out my unlock thread and website but of course its not a sim unlock lol
USERDATA for Android 11 has been added - build TL2.
Someone else already beat me to uploading the full TL2 firmware package on AFH, so you can download that if you need the rest of the Odin files.
And from now on, you can expect USERDATAs to be added right away, when new bootloaders and new Android versions are released. Thanks @elliwigy
so i downloaded from sammobile for my note 20 att sm-n981u android 11 N981USQS1CTLC_N981UOYN1CTLC_USC so can i flash with odin if i use the USERDATA_ATT_N981USQU1CTL2_CL20412913_QB36415969_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar instead of the userdata included in the first file?

I guess you can try it. But why would you not have downloaded the full TL2 package from AFH instead, rather than a totally different version from SamMobile? AFH has much faster download speeds than SamMobile anyway

No, it's not in my folder. In the post where I stated that the Android 11 USERDATA had been added, I specifically said that the reason I didn't add the entire firmware was because someone else had already uploaded the entire TL2 firmware package to AFH.

Just flash U1. If you've never used Odin before, there are many, many posts and threads here on XDA explaining how to do it
