Hey there XDA community,
I've tried search all over the place to see if I could setup the below but can't seem to find much.
I am trying to install 2 cameras on my car, one if the front bumper and one in the rear (I guess both being the backup camera variety). My car is low with a long front so its very hard for me to park close enough to the curb without hitting it. The rear camera that came with the car is pretty bad quality with no way to replace/upgrade it.
Is it possible to somehow run both camera wiring into the interior and then connect them to a converter of some kind which then connects to the tablet via OTG to display live video? I've seen a couple old videos showing this possibility but it was with one camera only.
Any input would be great.
Thank You

Found an old disposable camera at work today, and snaffled the lens from it - 10mm diameter, 20mm focal length. Armed with a bit of blu-tack, I now have a THD microscope
Autofocus doesn't figure (it focuses fine but the range is only a few mm) - nevertheless I'm kinda smug about the results from 5 mins work with bit of junk and a craft knife
Next time you find something in the trash that used to be a camera, grab it!
nice!

...not as cheap as yours...
Yeah, found that when I googled, but aside from only fitting iphones it's a bit.... orange...
I vaguely remember someone was doing a commercial clip-on lens for the HD, but can't track it down. There are some blogs where they suggest using the lens from a DVD player, but I don't fancy cutting up a gadget worth more than the phone! Tried the lens from a dead webcam but it's too short - exxxxxxtreme zoom but out of focus except in the center.
Great result.
you can get one of the jewler's magnifying glass and use that as a macro lens
im looking for a zoom lens solution
We had our first "real" snowfall on friday night, so saturday the family went out sledding in our neighborhood. I grabbed the prime as i walked out to record some video. I took about 8 videos ranging from 15-60 seconds, 1080p, no settings changed.
I tried to play them today, and discovered only 2 of 8 videos had any sound. The rest were silent. Video quality was great, but i'm extremely disappointed by the lack of sound.
It's not the playback. I've tried them on the prime, over hdmi, and after transferred to another computer. theres just no audio. I've tried recording a few more videos and have not yet been able to reproduce it. The ONLY thing i can think of is that it was about 25 F outside, but it seems as though the first and last videos i recorded have sound, so i'm not real inclined to blame the temperature.
If you haven't done much video recording with your prime, i urge you to do some tests and see what you find.

I've recorded a few videos with Prime. ON CHRISTMAS of my daughter opening up her presents n stuff and of family. I haven't noticed what you said yet. The video quality was great and was very surprised at how well it picks up sound. It does have a good quality Mic. I initially recorded at 1080P till I realized that would be a waste really if most of my playback is on the prime itself. PRIME can output 1080p to HDMI but plays 720p perfectly on display. You can play a 1080p video on prime with no problem but it won't be true 1080p playback. PLUS 1080P videos take up too much space when recording. 720p looks great n takes up alot less space.
AS far as the issue you had, might of been a glitch or hiccup at that moment. LIKE you said, you haven't been able to reproduce the event. Where the videos that had no sound any longer or shorter than others?
thanks for the response. Point taken on 1080p...i have plenty of space on the prime, and all the larger displays in the house are 1080p so i figured why not. I didn't notice any size anomalies with the vids that had no audio.

I can't believe anyone would use a 10" tablet for taking video. I just use my smartphone...
JUST KIDDING! Seriously, I haven't noticed that issue either, but I haven't taken much video with mine. Let's hope it was just a temporary glitch. Hopefully the video is enough to have captured the moment--those come and go way too quickly.
My kids and I have taken many videos with both the front and back cameras. My kids love the video effects that came with the firmware update. I've not experienced any audio problems.
Are you kidding me? I have taken a lot of video on it and for a tablet, it take AWESOME videos. It handle low light better than cheapo camcorder out there. No sound problems at all.
OP --
Be sure (especially when outside with gloves on) that you're not covering the mic while you're holding it. I did that a few times with leather gloves and it pretty much muted the whole video.
Simple user error on my part, no fault of the tablet.
^^^
Were you taking video in portrait mode? The only way you could cover the mic the way you describe is in portrait mode since the mic is on the top of the device near the cameras. Maybe a snowflake fell on the mic.
I just got my Verizon G3 2 days ago, I am having a problem with the IR BLASTER, it has a range of about 6 inches...at first I thought it wasnt working at all but then something made me put it right next to the TV sensor and it works, if I am more then 6 inches away from the TV it does not work... anyone else experience this issue and if so is there a fix for it?
No. I have only tried it once since I received the phone on launch day but when I did try it I was an entire room away with no issues
Sent from my VS985 4G using XDA Free mobile app
I've been using the IR blaster daily since I got the phone about a week ago. I can say that it has a very narrow angle (much narrower than a traditional remote control) so it has to be aimed directly at the TV. If it is off by more than a few degrees then the sensor in the TV cannot see the phone's LED. With that said, I can still use it from across the room if the angle is dead on.
One question I have for you (and don't take offense)....are you sure you are aiming the IR blaster at the TV and not the camera's laser autofocus? The IR blaster is on the top of the device while the laser for the autofocus is on the back. At 6" the IR blaster may still work even if not aimed directly which is why I ask.
I will admit, I would prefer if they put the IR blaster on the back instead of the top as I find it clunky to use a touchscreen phone like a remote and point directly at the TV. Would be easier to operate like you would the camera and aim the back of the phone at the TV. The IR LED could also be used in conjunction with the camera for better night vision had they went that route......maybe something LG can think about on their next flagship

no offence taken and yes I am pointing the phone in the right direction, I did see the sensor on the back and thought, maybe that is it but realized it was not, I did more research and found out it is very narrow, I got my case today and it actually seems better with the case on, maybe the little funnel around the sensor shoots it better, I dont know...but it now works about 10 feet away, still too short for me to be happy, my HTC one M7 would work from accross a large room with no problem, didnt even have to point it directly at TV, worked just like a regular remote control. I dont use it often but it is nice to have when I do need it, I did find alot of other complaints on the short range of it, maybe someone will develop a mod to increase its power...
I have the same issue and I checked my ir blaster with a digital camera. I was able to see light from my ir blaster only when I had closed all the lights and i was in complete darkness. Also i noticed that my blaster might be misplaced as the light was not coming out from the centre.
Anyone tried the BOBOVR Z5 3D with the XZ Premium? What's your impressions?
Do U know the answer yet. I want to buy it as well but I don't know if it will work.
There is no reason why it wouldn't work. There no tech inside the Bobo Z5, so it will be compatible with anything that fits between...... just a well made cardboard.
As I own both XZP and Bobo Z5 I can tell you following facts:
- the FOV is no where near 120° , it depends on your eye to lens and lens to phone display distance as well as the ipd distance , I have almost the perfect average ipd with 65mm and with the best settings I found so far, I have somewhere around 80-90° FOV by guessing in comparison with my 2016 GearVR (assuming this has exactly 90°fov)
- the lenses seem to be good, better than GVR 2016 , the image stays clear within peripheral vision , that was not the case with the Samsung
- Headphones are a plus, If they were bluetooth, they would have been better, cable does often come in the way while putting your phone in
- be aware of having to set up the headset for your needs , takes some time with calibration, I would recommend sitesinvr , they offer a calibration tool and the possibility to export your config to a qr code you can scan afterwards to overwrite the standard cardboard preset
- bobovr's own qr code isn't working properly, you will most likely get a fisheye view then
- not the most comfortable headset , but I'm pretty sure there is alot worse hardware available, it sits pretty good on your head, backstrap with knob to tighten is a bit uncomfortable if you are leaning with the back of your head on the sofa or anywhere else , a flex-strap system like samsung would be more shaky but more comfortable
- lenses do not fog up easyly , this is a big plus
- I would recommend inserting the xzp into the z5 without any cases around. It is perfectly possible (I have a Spigen Rugged armor case) alignment / image quality is slightly improved with the case removed)
Overall:
- cardboard image drifting sucks !!
- 4K screen is a big plus compared to my old galaxy s6 2560x1440 display
-XZP's LCD screen is alot slower than Samsungs Oleds , but this tradeoff might be ok if you do not look around too much etc.
I have it since october.
Yes, bobo VR Z5! It works great but keep in mind without tempered glass screenprotector.
Ittook over 1 month to come from china, and the remote was discharged so I jump started the battery 3-4 times with 5v for one second and it did charge after.
I have it like new. thinking to sell it ...
how much do you offer?
i bought some years ago bobo4 just because want to try 4k video in VR, because try ps4 vr and ps display not 4k but picture was very cool realistic in games, and i though with 4k xzp display picture will be more better...but i can't normaly cinfigurate bobo4 and xzp to watch 4k videos youtube or other videos and other things like games, videos very ugly and i see pixels and other.... or may be because bobo4 it's piece of **** don't know, but I was very disappointed in VR and did not touch this bobo again.....

1) I've never used an iPhone anything and I never will. I hate Apple crap with a passion. Their phones especially are YEARS behind Androids in features, specs. They just got Qi wireless charging this year (Android has had it since 2012) and apparently still can't figure out QHD 1440p (all top tier Android have had it since late 2014). They were even years behind just getting regular 720p/1080p resolution. Apple can only do IP67 WITHOUT a headset jack, while LG/Samsung have IP68 WITH a headset jack. Apple's engineers are just incompetent. On the iPhone 4 they gave users an external metal band antenna without any insulation (the infamous Grip of Death), then tried to lie about it. Any competent communications engineer knows you need insulation if you are going to touch the various antennas with your bare hands. Don't get me started.
2) On all my Android phones, I use the camera in WhatsApp, Facebook just fine. Not sure what you are doing wrong? You take a picture and choose it from the Gallery to upload to the app. Doesn't matter which of the dual cameras you use, the pictures are there in the Gallery. Choose the picture you want from the Gallery.
And why is camera quality "horrible" for you? I don't understand.
3) Just a suggestion... next time, please just open a regular thread. Please, don't choose this "Q&A" format again. It's a pain to reply.
