Hey all,
Has Hauwei fixed the way that their lock screen shows notification? Can you still only view new notifications on the lock screen? Does it still not play well with 3rd music app widgets?

I got mate 10 pro,dont have any problems with music apps, but notifications has a bug, which kills apps and notifications are delayed or not showed at all untill you unlock your phone..
Darn, that is super unfortunate. I think I may have to pick something else up. Ty for the feedback.
I'm also disappointed.. could stay with mate 9 pro, i see no difference, mate 9pro even felt smoother.
I had the same problems with the notifications with my Mate 10 pro but i just figured out why.
It can be weird and not user-friendly but if you don't choose Magazine Unlock from the LockScreen -> LockScreenStyle, you won't be able to have notifications (or only messages notifications). Check also the top right corner menu in the Notifications Management and set it to Always or Don't diplay notification content.

I can only select magazine unlock, no other alternativ is present and i can't seem to uncheck magazine. Any ideas?
Is this still a problem?
How can a phone not notify you when it is locked ? seems like a pretty major flaw.

I have Mate 10 (not pro) international version and I don't have any problem with notification on lockscreen or not. Out of the box all notifications were working as on my second phone NOTE 8...

No problem with notifications too
But problem with expanding notifications in lockscreen with magazine locks.
My mate 10 don't show the message / wechat / whatsapp / email notification anymore when screen is locked. I remember it used to show, and I think I have accidentally changed something to disable this feature. I already went to Setting/ Apps & Notifications/ Notifications management/ and enable EVERYTHING.
In addition, at the upper right top corner I clicked the 3 dots, selected "Lock Screen Notifications" and choose "Display all notifications", still no hope.
Can anyone help me on this?

Mine never used to show notifications I changed lock screen from magazine but wen I changed it back in themes everything works fine now
New notification system ? "App icon badges" function is not the same as before

I am having a weird trouble with Galaxy S9+ notification system. The thing is, when I get new notifications (sms, facebook, whatsapp, etc.), I also get the number of new notifications on the icon of corresponding app. But when I clear my notifications from the notification tray (top of the screen), the badges on the app icon also disappear. It is kind of annoying for me, because sometimes I forget about new messages to which I decided to answer later, but wanted to clear my notification tray. My android version is 8.0.0 Oreo
Do you have the same problem, or it is just me ? Any solutions to this annoying function ?

Well, as I understood, this is not the same on S8 or S7 with Oreo OS Maybe I'm wrong.
Nevertheless, it's still annoying. Would like to change it, if there is any chance

what launcher? Nova has settings related to badges. they can be set based on notifica
what launcher? Nova has settings for badges to get theirinfo from notifications or from tesla unread which gets unread info direct from the apps.

Is there any solution for this ?
I updated my Note9 to Android 9, but problem still exists - when new e-mail arrives, I get badge notification on app icon.
But when I open e-mail app without reading new mail, this badge disappear, but I still have unread e-mails in inbox.
Is it any tool to bring back unread e-mails count ?

Hello. I selled Mate 10 pro for disperation because i need notifications of third part apps in always on display. Like Samsung, if arrive a whatsapp or gmail notifications, the samsung shows in black screen of aod the icon and clicking two times the phone unlock and show the notification by opening app..... instead huawei mate 10 pro don't do this, it shows only calls and sms icon and doesn't open if click on it.
the huawei support promised that will solve this but yet the mate 10 pro has non this function.
Now i ask, in a 1000 $ of phone, is solved this problem? shows the whatsapp and gmail in blach always on display and if click on it, opens the app????

It can only show missed call and sms, but even that leaves much to be desired.

it's a very beautiful phone but this function for me is very important. i hope they implement...
Was looking forward to Mate 20 Pro but 99% sure will be ditching in favour of OnePlus 6T - not exactly AOD but at least shows 3rd party notifications when picking up the phone . Plus has screen-off gestures which is intriguing.

So I have just sold my OnePlus 5T to get the mate 20 pro and I cannot believe how bad the software is on this phone - it is so difficult to get your head around.
All I want is for my notifications to wake the screen upon receipt and to notify the banner when the phone is awake - FYI a £1000 cannot do this.
I have just had my OnePlus alongside the Mate 20 and every notification from the OnePlus came through - they simply do not on the Mate 20.
Gmail - Lock screen notifications are intermittent, banner notifiactions simply do not come through.
Sky News - Nope
Whatsapp - Nope
Twitter - Intermittent
Strangely enough, some of my sports apps (Futbol 24 & Sofascore) work absolutely fine.
Am I missing something or does a £1000 phone not do notifications very well?

So firstly ensure you're using the magazine unlock or default theme as I know there are issues using themes and notifications on the lockscreen.
Secondly head over to settings----notifications---more notifications and you'll see the option to wake the device.
Also ensure under battery the apps listed are not managed automatically.

For my sanity are you not experiencing any issues with notification? It just seems very strange that small development apps come through fine but the likes of Gmail and Whatsapp do not.

Please try the following methods:
1）Make sure the SIM card is inserted. Setttings---Battery---- Click the gear button on the upper right corner--- switch on “Stay connected when device sleeps”.
2) Settings---Notifications----More notification settings---turn off "Smart notifications"
go to security settings and switch to no content, and then switch it back, whatsapp shows now the content on my locksceen

hello. please, i know that for p30 pro, with last update of march, the notifications of app of third part like whatsapp and gmail now arrive in always on display (screen off). this problem of huawei is in all phones. can anyone tell me if now, even in mate 20 pro the problem is solved and now these notifications arrive at screen off? are them interactive and with double tap they open related apps? thanks
I'm on .193 which is the latest from my provider, no 3rd party notifications with the AOD.
i'm on .198 and no 3rd party apps notifications on AOD. I'm wondering if there is a particular setting on the P30 pro. I'll check tomorrow if i get it on time

It looks as though the 3rd party AOD integration is an EMUI 9.1 feature so it will hopefully come to the Mate 20 Pro in time.
