Hello. Will there be 60 fps support for filming for these devices ( poco f1, mix2s, mi8, mi9, all that have a snapdragon 845-855 processor )in your program (FiLMiC Pro, gcam and similar )?
Why do you need in other applications? The fact is that these programs are richest in their functionality compared to stock applications.
Or will it never happen?

The support for 60 fps recording is already official on devices like poco F1. Now it's upto the Dev of a particular app if he wants to implement the same. Gcam for example made available for non pixel devices by community devs rather than the OEM (Google) itself. If the Dev thinks it'll be useful and doesn't require too much effort and won't break any basic functions, he can choose to implement on his mods of the gcam app. Same goes for others.
What you can do now is ask the Dev himself if he can implement such and such features.

I contacted FiLMiC Pro technical support - they said that they would do this quickly and only when the OEM manufacturer provided the source code to unlock some features, such as 60 FPS video in third-party programs.

I read somewhere that the libs for 60 fps were made open source sometime ago. I don't remember exactly where. You should begin by searching the most active threads like the bootloader unlock one.

Yes, ofcourse because as compared to stock camera application Google camera is the best because their image processing software is best, that's why they can produce images like DSLR ,if you think that mi is not good at stock camera because they focus on hardware rather than software...So,camera of mi+gcam=DSLR .. Hi,
I have a Galaxy S9 Plus arriving tomorrow that I had intended to use with Filmic Pro and a Zhiyun Smooth 4 stabilizer (anyone got one?).
Somewhat belatedly, I've just discovered (here) that inbuilt restrictions prevent Filmic Pro from using the second rear camera.
Has anyone any experience of using the Filmic Pro's zoom function without the S9 Plus's optical zoom?
Thanks,
John Latter
Sadly it's true..
Samsung S9 and S9+ FiLMiC Pro v6 Compatibility Guide
The Samsung S9 and S9+ are capable of absolutely stunning footage when used with FiLMiC Pro v6 for Android, and we have worked hard to bring the best possible shooting experience to both handsets. However there are two issues that can impact on the available features you have access to and overall performance on the S9/S9+.
Samsung’s implementation of the camera framework
Firstly, Samsung’s implementation of the Android camera framework denies third party developers access to some feature that are available in the native Samsung camera app. This includes high-speed framerates such as 60fps, 120fps and 240fps.
On Exynos equipped devices we have found a workaround that allows us to deliver high speed framerates even though not officially supported (up to 240fps at 1080p, and up to 60fps at 4k), however this is not applicable to snapdragon equipped devices (see below for more information).
The current Samsung camera framework implementation also prevents third party developers from supporting the dual lenses found on the S9+. At present only the wide lens is supported.
Finally, in order to deliver stable 4k performance we need to use Samsung's 'limited' mode that prevents access to the cinematographer kit LOG/FLAT profiles as well as custom white balance controls.
The Snapdragon CPU
And secondly, in addition to Samsung’s restrictive implementation of the camera framework, they chose to produce the S9 and S9+ with two different CPUs: an Exynos version - and a Snapdragon version.
You can find out which CPU your devices uses with the app AIDA64.
Unfortunately not all chips are created equal and the Snapdragon version has the following limitations for video:
No support for 60fps at any resolution
Whilst we can bypass the Samsung 60fps limitation on Exynos devices, this is impossible on Snapdragon devices.
No support for 120fps.
Whilst we can bypass the Samsung 120fps limitation on Exynos devices, this is impossible on Snapdragon devices.
Automatic White Balance UI doesn’t update.
The camera driver doesn’t provide information about the current white balance being applied, so we cannot reflect this status on the UI on snapdragon equipped devices.
HDR video unsupported
On Exynos versions of the S9/S9+ we can support access to high dynamic range video recordings, however this is not currently supported on Snapdragon equipped handsets.

According to this thread on the US Samsung Community forums, the 2 x optical zoom is not available to S9 Plus owners in Pro Mode.
In "Auto Mode" the second rear camera may or may not be selected by the software, depending - apparently - on "how much light is available".
In other words, there are probably lots of S9 Plus owners walking around thinking they've just taken a zoomed photo whereas in reality it's likely to be only a digital crop.
Amazing!

I don't have any experience with Filmic Pro.
But the default Samsung camera app also doesn't use the secondary camera for video. So it's not different.....
I had a few back and forth converstions with Samsung and Filic Pro support teams.
The following is the correspondence with Filic pro ragarding the matter:
Blue is me and black is Filmic pro support
"I'm sure you guys get annoyed about hearing about samsung users questions, but unfortunately I do not see any clear and open communication about it.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+
I would like to know if you guys are working on support for 4k 60fps, 1080p 120fps, and use of the telephoto lens. If so, do you have an estimated time frame that each of these will be supported?
How can I, or other samsung users, help to make the dream of full feature utilization a reality?
thank you"
"Thank you for writing in. Unfortunately, the lack of support for frame rates above 30fps on your device is due to errors in Samsung's camera framework implementation on S9 series devices containing the Snapdragon chipset. To learn more about these limitations, please refer to this resource --> Samsung S9 and S9+ FiLMiC Pro v6 Compatibility Guide
Furthermore, Samsung currently restrict 3rd party developers from accessing the tele lens on their devices. They told us at their developers conference last year that they plan to address this problem, but they are running late.
If Samsung correct these issues in the future, we will be quick to support for the features you mention. The best we can do is continue to raise the issue with Samsung until they recognize their users' demand for these repairs."
"I contacted you guys a few days ago regarding the S9+ and it's features and I received a very informative response that helped me a lot; so thanks for that!
I then decided to contact Samsung about the same issues and they seem to not be on the same page as you guys. After 2 support inquiries here is what I received from Samsung:
"We understand you would like Samsung to enable the [email protected], 1080p @ 60/120/240fps and utilization of telephoto lens to Filmic Pro app.
In the previous email, our agent had informed the camera specifications which the Galaxy S9+ supports. Indeed the Galaxy S9+ hardware supports [email protected] and 1080p @ 60/120/240fps using the in built Samsung camera app.
As the hardware supports the required format for videos, it is upon us the app developers to utilize the Camera hardware and develop the app code which can support this feature.
Samsung cannot change the software for the Camera if third party apps cannot utilize the camera hardware of Galaxy S9+. In this situation, we request to contact the app developer again and confirm if there are new updates available for the app which can support the camera hardware of Galaxy S9+."
With this in mind, it seems that they (or at least their support staff) believe that there are no restrictions on what 3rd party developers can do with the Samsung hardware. Because they are such a large company I would understand that their support staff is not privy to the detailed information of this one specific issue, but I'm curious if the entire company is not actually aware of the issue.
I realize this is a vague question, but I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done to push Samsung to allow Filmic pro to access all of the features that it's hardware provides. I have done extensive research of message boards and forums, but to no avail.
Can you point me in the right direction? Can we start some sort of petition? What can we do to get Samsungs attention?"
"Thanks very much for the followup. While it's true that Exynos devices are capable of the high fps/resolution combinations he mentions, S9 devices containing the Snapdragon chipset cannot achieve this with stability. It's a bit unclear to me, but it almost looks like he claims that 3rd party developers might now have access to both front facing lenses (!!). I at least I think that's what he means by "we request to contact the app developer again and confirm if there are new updates available for the app which can support the camera hardware of Galaxy S9+."
Anyway, I'm going to pass this along to the development team now to determine if maybe we did miss something in a system update that might grant us access to more features (at least for Snapdragon variants of S9 series devices, if we're lucky). We do understand that Samsung place restrictions on 3rd party developers in this manner, but we were told by Samsung at their developers conference last year that they plan to lift some of these restrictions. Maybe they changed their mind and pressing them with more requests for this improvement is not such a bad idea."
Conclusion:
Although I did not completely determine both company's standing on the issue, at least some light was shed on the matter. It also seems that Filmic pro will now press the issues further with Samsung to open up full feature capability at a future date.
If anyone knows of a way that we can group together in an effort to get Samsung's attention, please post about it here.

Hello
On Oreo Samsung Camera app used Telephoto lens for video as well when there is enough light before you start recording it will switch to Telephoto. adjusting the zoom from 2.0 anywhere else while you are recording switches to Wide lens. (You can see shift in perspective and hear the click).
I could easily test this by pointing the camera directly to a light bulb before starting a recording on AUTO with 2x zoom.. (this doesn't work on current latest build of Pie and stock Camera app for video.
On Oreo you can verify that Telephoto lens is used by sticking some object or your finger in front of the wide lens while recording. ]
What makes me pissed off the most on Pie is that there is no support for Pro Mode Video - you cannot set manual ISO and/or Shutter and this was the main reasons why I purchased Filmic Pro.
To my surprise on Pie / Exynos The Filmic Pro app is able to switch apertures as well. I haven't see this on any other 3rd party camera app.
Regards,
Martin
I googled everywhere, but can't seems to to find anything on it. Is it possible at all or not due to SoC?
I would highly doubt it, mainly because the pixel has 1 back camera and the mate has 3
Could still happen, other phones have more than one camera and have had it ported over, OnePlus 6, LG g6 etc etc but the only Thing that might be an issue it them. Phones have had snapdragon processors as opposed to Huawei Kirin.

Porting Google Camera is much easier from Snapdragon SoC to Snapdragon SoC, yet there are still issues on OnePlus phones cause of the different sensors. I'm afraid it would take someone in the knowledge and motivated to properly port GCam for Kirin, and then you have the problem of the multiple lenses, something GCam doesn't support natively. First and foremost Huawei should just significantly cut back denoising and some of the sharpening, or just offer the option. Otherwise stock camera app is well rounded (minus GCam's awesome photosphere).
Night Signt is what I am more interested in from the new Google cam.

You are absolutely right. Some tweaks from Huawei and the stock camera App is brilliant. There is no need fpr GCam on Huawei especially since Huawei started with those dedicated night modes.
The problem does not seem to be the SOC as Mate 10 pro has a perfectly usable GCam port but the P20 pro doesn't. The problem is with the IMX 600 on the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro as it enables pixel binding technology to capture HDR photos within the sensor itself rather than stacking different shots together. The pixel binding technology relays on the sensor to capture four pictures at once while other HDR technology only captures one photo at each shot. Oneplus uses the same technology on its secondary sensors so If there if any ports are working with the Oneplus's secondary sensor, then it might as well working on the Huawei devices. But If that's not the case, then it's not likely for us to get hands on any workable GCam shortly.
What a shame. imo the Mate 20 pro cam modules are really capable, but the software tends to screw up my images. I mean as mentioned, the sharpening, and the noise reduction is way over the top, and makes the images oilpaintings rather than actual pictures.

Also waiting for this
I tried many ports but nothing worked. Agree with Don.Chen's insight, I also found M20P compatible with some P20P's ports, but not the M10 ports. Miss GC's Portrait mode. Basically hardly any support for Kirin processors. Saw people mentioned Huawei's Camera API 2 is blocked, thus GC will not work for HDR+.
I hope some devs will turn and give it a try to mods gcam to work with our device

At least it works . And it's real 40 MP photos with zoom.
I tried one of the gcam version but it didnt work correct, so I deleted it. But i have a feeling that after that my camera doesent work so good anymore, it doesent take so good pictures anymore. Do you think that something like that is possible, or it is just my feeling? I dont have any good pictures to compare between, so it is hard to prove.
No change in terms of quality here. I guess you could do a soft reset? Has anyone found a port for wide angle support? Thanks

Dunno much about this stuff but I downloaded the Camera2 API Probe app on my Xiaomi Mix 3 just to see what the results are, and they are the same as the ones in TechTablet's Zenfone 6 video. Hi, I'm thinking of buying this phone (upgrade from my POCO F3) - I have a bunch of questions if someone could please answer these, thank you!
Bugs?
Does the FP sensor with tempered glass protection?
Camera Quality/Night Mode? (sorry I'm only seeing a handful of 12s reviews) if you could also post some sample shots, please.
Update commitments? Open source? Last I checked, there's still no commitment from an XDA article
GCAM - I saw a bunch of apps on some Telegram group which is dedicated to the 12S series, wonder if you guys tried it yet? (to those who's gonna ask here's the thumbnail & TG link)
RAM management - (I know this will eventually be fixed on custom roms or MIUI EU - will we even have custom ROMs?) but I saw on YT reviews that it has bad ram management
Battery Review - SOT? WiFi/Data
Any official Telegram channel yet? 12S Photography? - All I can see is 12S Ultra
Overall, how does it feel? A good daily driver? I had Mi 8 before and switched to F3 (camera sucked so hard compared to Mi 8) even with GCAM, so basically I'm looking for something bug free, daily driver + good cam.
Thank you guys!

Hi. I use my Mi12s as a daily driver. Here are my thoughts.
With stock Chinese rom it is pretty stable, but even for this price tag you are getting Ads and Bloatware so naturally I would want to flash a custom rom. However this device is still fairly new (although Xiaomi seem to have moved on with the 13) and it is a China-only model so You either have to flash a GSI and risk things not working or you have to use third party apps to debloat the device and risk deleting or disabling system apps that make your device brick after a restart (which would mean a factory reset or else a complete MIflash system reset) so you are probably better off with one that has international support. I actually recommend an older model such as the 11 or 10 as they still have plenty of support but they are in enough hands that pixelexperience and LineageOS all support it.
xiaomi.eu now has a rom for the 12s you can use if you like. I have not tried it out yet.
The system adds 3GB of virtual memory to the device by default. This affects storage and will wear out storage faster so I choose to turn it off.
There is no support for multiple users, but there is a feature called second space which basically does that (found out in adb)
And I do not think there is an official way of getting this device outside of China. On top of that I do not think warranty can be used outside of China since this is a China-only device.
