Which is better? Beta or EU Rom? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I'm on the latest stable build and was thinking of using the Beta since a lot are saying it's better, but some people say it's EU? From what I gather, EU is basically stable build with no ads, which I don't have anyway, and a few ui changes (is it true?). So which is better? Thank you

You're wrong about some things. Beta builds are for testing and thus have the latest features available before they are released to the public. Where as EU is a custom ROM based on MIUI and it is has versions based on both the stable and beta of the "Global" or the stock build from Xiaomi. EU has some changes from the global version that includes some tweaks, no ads etc. For all the differences Google xaiomi EU or use the link below

What do you think is better, living life on the straight and fat, having the same boring routine?
Or living life on the edge, exciting, never knowing what's coming next, facing the challenges life throws at you?
Your choice.

Any chance of us getting a nougat MIUI rom?

I read that we're stuck with marshmallow on official miui. Is there a chance we that we get a custom MIUI rom that is on nougat? I'm not really a fan of aosp based roms for our device since they are buggy for me. No offense to the devs. So far MIUI based roms are the ones that performed the best for me. Best call quality(note I live in US so ymmv.) And multirom with muh 2gb free ram lol. Anyway, the only think that I am lacking on MIUI roms is vulkan api.
So it would really be nice to have a nougat based miui on our phone.
Its not gonna happen most probably.
Redmi devices only get one major android update i think.
Multirom uses wrong calculation to display more free ram ( ram is to be used anyway).
Call quality should be same on both
We will get but not anytime soon..
Nope. Redmi line gets only one OS update, which was Marshmallow. RN3 was released with Lollipop. No more OS updates.
What about KATE?

Why there isn't any development with custom kernels for MIUI roms?

Hi friends and dear developers..
I've been in this community since many years. I've been using Sony phones and then xiaomi phones.
> I've always seen that there are most kernels developed only for Cyanogen(now Lineage) based ROMs.
I accept that Lineage based ROMS are much much better in terms of performance and fluidity, and I love many roms out there.
But I always see xiaomi users get back to MIUI one day or another, since it has it own advantages, especially looks.
So my real query is, why don't we concentrate atleast a little on kernels for MIUI roms as well??
So friends, kindly share your views and suggestions, so that developers might take a look into this.
Love you all for your valuable time and knowledge. :good::highfive:

MIUI is outdated most of us using XDA only use custom ROMs,take me for an example I used MIUI in my redmi 3s only initial 3~5 months after that when I heard xioami won't upgrade redmi 3s to nougat ,I switched to custom ROM since then I never gone back to MIUI ,heck I even forgot I'm using xiaomi device.
There is bunch of up-to-date Oreo custom ROMs available for our device,as for MIUI it only stuck in Android marshmallow with April 2017 security patch which is one year old.so do u really think developers should care about MIUI?if normal users don't want to use MIUI ,then why should developers waste their time to create kernel, which nobody gonna use? Besides kernel development for our device is generally not that great compared to santoni and other redmi devices,so yeah this my opinion on this matter,if in future xiaomi decided to upgrade all devices to up-to-date Android(which I doubt),I'm sure developers will create more kernels for MIUI,even then custom ROMs will always dominate.
As for themes, since you're not new here, you at least heard about substratum theme engine/OMS give it a try,it's better than MIUI theming.
If you really want to stick to MIUI (official or custom Marshmallow based) you can use PerXepted kernel by Nichcream : https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-3s/development/kernel-perxepted-16-aug-t3657329
It is excellent.

Thank you for your detailed explanation. And i totally agree with you buddy.. Except the fact that there are end users who still love MIUI (even though android version isn't updated and yes it sucks very much)..
And yes I have used substratum theme engine, its really great though

Yeah bro I have used it already.. It haven't been updated since long... And I hope it won't be updated anymore....
Because like SMR96 bro said, miui isn't updated (in terms of android version or security patch). Hence developers won't take much interest in updating kernel for an outdated ROM

It has been updated in january 2018, this is not so bad. The real problem is due to MIUI security patch level, april 2017 is not acceptable.
But sadly, nobody tried to add new security patch to MIUI.

Stable Pie ROM ?

At current position, which pie ROM is stable enough and can be used as a daily driver ? Also, is there one in which NFC works ?
Are you sure you're in the right place? I didn't know there was NFC in RedmiNote4. As for stability, Lineage, PixelExperience, Havoc. I've tried these, they're stable.
"Stable enough" is a bit of a vague term. If you need ultimate stability, try an older Oreo ROM, they have been tested more.
You may be better off asking which Pie ROM is stable and being actively supported.
All of them :3

U mean the debloat module of zip file?
I thought miui eu was already debloated
Miui with latest sphinx beta (available on the telegram group) or wait for the stable version of sphinx
There is nothing call "Best". It totally depends on your usage pattern and how you tweak the device according to your requirement. For some, miui has better battery life, whereas for others, its the AOSP based custom roms. Nobody is wrong. Try all ROMs and see which one meets your requirement. Don't just rely on other's opinion.

A decent Pie ROM for mido

Currently I am on DoTOS_2.5 (oreo)which is quite stable. Despite the release of Android Pie, I can't find any decent ROM without any bugs in end of the discussion. Most ROMs I've tried have bugs this and that. I've tried DoTOS_3.0, HavocOS_latest.
So, if you've got a decent pie rom, do share here. ::angel:

They all have bugs. MIUI, Custom ROM Oreo & Pie. It just depends on which bugs you can live with.
I flashed the latest official AOSiP Pie ROM a couple of days ago and I'm happy with it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../rom-android-source-illusion-project-t3929008
I like Havoc.
Try superior os.
I used pixel experience aosp 9th may update and resurrection remix latest version they both ran fine without any noticeable bugs.
If you a little bit more smoother rom then try pixel experience april update rom 20190403, this is the best pixel experience rom the one I personally use till date but it has a bug ie., screen pinning doesn't work, rest all runs fine.
So much Pie roms stable now. try check aryan kedare's updates
