Hi,
I recently bought the softbank Japan version of Huawei Ascend P1 LTE ---> (Rebranded by softbank Japan as softbank 201hw)
I want to debrand it and convert it back to Huawei Ascend P1 LTE. Basically I want to dump the softbank firmware on this device and flash the stock firmware from Huawei.
Would be grateful if someone can someone help me to get clarification on the below queries.
1) Do I need to root my device to flash the Huawei stock firmware ?
2) I managed to get the system.img, recovery.img and boot.img files for the Huawei stock firmware.
Are these files enough for flashing the firmware. Are any other files needed in addition to these

ENABLING PHONE CALLS: NO SOLUTION YET.
Phone calls are disabled on EE UK firmware KOB-L09C238B002 (text works). No Dialer and it does not work with 3rd party or google dialers. Confirmed to be working on O2 UK (KOB-L09C105B003).
Quick info for 1st timers
Before rooting, you need to unlock bootloader for any Huawei / Honor devices.
Once you got the code Download\Install Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Now connect your Huawei device to the PC with a USB cable. (Give it required permission)
Boot your Huawei device into bootloader mode using the following command:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Once your device is in bootloader mode, issue the following command to unlock bootloader:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock your-unlock-password
Use the Vollume Up/Down key to select yes and power key to confirm - bootloader is unlocked now and phone will reset.

AGS-L09 - Huawei MediaPad T3 10
Returned the HUAWEI MediaPad 8" T3 4G (Model KOB-L09, Android 7/) tablet now but gone crazy and bought a Brand New T3 10" from ebay (AGS-L09, Firmware AGS-L09C127B031 CUSTC127D002). This is on Vodafone UK Network but same issues as EE - no dialer. srsroot says it can be rooted but bit risky as I have never used that tool before, especially when I am unable to find any non Chinese FULL firmware yet. Any one tried this tool before?
I have a feeling that all the UK network remove the dialer (most likely using the same firmware) - wondering which firmware (English) supports phone calls (review on notebookcheck.net says its actually quite good). I guess oeminfo is needed to flash a different regional firmware?
Man I'm in the same boat as you're I need to root my Huawei AGS-L09 but no avail hope some day we can find a way to do it with the help of the xda genius members!
By the way I can make phone calls on mine
Thanks Mercer99, as per other thread, appreciate it (for your device security, can you remove the image as this has your IMEI)- we have the same model, but different firmware.
AGS-L09C199B002 is “Saudi Arabia Oman Kenya Cameroon Jordan Qatar Ghana Android 7.0 EMUI 5.1” region.
AGS-L09C127B031 is “Greece Hungary United Kingdom Nonspecific Android 7.0_EMUI” . The dialer/calling function is disabled on this firmware - confirmed on Vodafone and EE network.
Is there any way you can extract the OEMINFO from your device and share it with us. This should enable me to debrand the phone if I can find your firmware (downloaded EUROPEAN version with Firmware finder already – so really need an European OEMINFO).
My phone is still locked to Vodafone so I am not sure whether I can flash the firmware or even need root to flash a different OEMINFO (bootloader is unlocked already).
Rooted
Took a risk and its rooted now - Magisk v14.0 installed fine and seems to be working (need to test further). Also, Vodafone unlocked the device now for me
Challenge now is to debrand so as to enable functions which has been disabled by Vodafone (namely calling).
Would appreciate if anyone can help - need OEMINFO from another region so as to change the firmware, especially European one or even other UK network who does not disable calling.
Could not contain myself…. In my quest to debrand so I can have a dialer/phone calling function, downloaded a firmware (either from FF Team or on the internet), tried flashing system.img file to see if it installs the dialer as it would not install extracted ones and it did not work. So tested with the boot.img and it did work but phone kept rebooting to eRecovery.
Restoring from TWRP (incomplete/untested) backup did not work. Can’t install any other regional firmware because of OEMINFO. eRecovery can’t find any firmware. The only thing – TWRP/Stock Recovery, eRecovery or bootloader!
Chatted with Huawei support and they won’t give me a link to download the firmware – want me to send for repair, which I don’t really want to – too much hassle and they may end up blaming me anyway….lol He agreed to upload one to their website if he can find one.
I would appreciate if anyone can give me an OEMINFO or link to EUROPEAN firmware with a dialer….. I think European one is AGS-L09C127B031CUSTC127D002 – would appreciate if anyone can share the file with me.
Managed to source the Vodafone UK now firmware now - thanks to combinefile.com
The only think remaining is to enable the enable the dialer now – can someone help? Either a guide to enable within Vodafone firmware or share an OEMINFO and detail of a UK/European firmware that has a dialer enabled (i.e. can make calls) would be much appreciated.

did someone used the first method ("How to install Magisk with ADB") and root the tablet with success?
do i have to unlock my bootloader on huawei site even with that root procedure?
is there a working TWRP for this model?
i have a AGS-L09C100B011, it's an european firmware for sure
if you found it useful let me know what to do

I am not sure if anyone has tried but check the 4pda.ru forum (I have been using google translation) lol
It should work with a locked bootloader.
TWRP - I have updated the link now to 4pda.ru forum. I have used that to root my model. I don't think restore (and backups) works. Of course, you need blootloader to be unlocked first.
Does your AGS-L09C100B011CUSTC100D002 have a dialer and can you make calls? I need the firmware and may be OEMINFO /Cust - not exactly sure how it works on a tablet. But it certainly needs something else to be changed.

KOB-L09 TWRP Here - I should be getting a new KOB-L09 to play end of this week,
In case this info is useful to anyone, I just got one of these from O2 and the dialler is preinstalled on the device. I've not tried using a regular SIM to make calls from it but the feature doesn't seem to be blocked. I can open the dialler and see the keypad etc.
Not a bad little tablet this, it needs an update to the latest security patches as it's still on July and the default launcher is crap (easy to install Nova of course) but otherwise very good for the price having Android 7.0, a Snapdragon, and LTE for £100. Stuck a MicroSD in there and filled it with movies to watch on the go.
Hexgor, can you confirm the firmware version and are you able to upload the dialer apk files for us, may be it just needs to be installed....thanks
Thanks
Thanks, now my KOB L09 is rooted with Magisk in Twrp..

i changed mine to c432 variant by flashing a c432 dual sim oeminfo and flashing the relvant software and now have a fully working dual sim phone, accepting updates and works great.

Could you please share with more detail instruction about it ?
You need to flash a new oeminfo for the right region, I went for c432 dual SIM which is pretty much all you need to do to enable the second sim. Then you need to flash the correct firmware for that region. I then updated the firmware via firmware finder, but hrupdater it probably an easier way of doing it. And that was pretty much it. I used hwota8 to flash the correct oeminfo and the rest as described above.

Hi pls upload the oeminfo for the c432 dual sim .
Thanks in advance.
If you download hwota8 in the roms section, it's in that software. Just unzip it and you will see the oeminfo file. That's the one I used.

You have to flash oeminfo from dual sim and then flash full firmware.
Flash only firmware from dual sim your device stay a single sim.
I checked mine in the other way around, I flashed single sim firmware in my dual sim device and it stays a dual sim.
Can anyone post a step-by-step tutorial?

Be aware that the IMEI from second SIM will be null.
You can find the C432 dual SIM oeminfo in the HwOTA8 for Huawei P20 Lite https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-lite/development/hwota8-huawei-p20-lite-t3787787

One SIM - 2G/3G/4G
The other SIM - only 2G
No, they don't work as Dual SIM active, they work as Dual Stand-by, when one SIM is making or receiving a call the other SIM would be ignored.
Hello,
i have p20lite single sim C432 Italian.
Can i transform in dual sim?
Hi,
I have a P20 lite from Orange orignaly ANE-LX1 8.0.0.149(C109).
Only one SIM is available.
So, in the objective to get dual SIM phone, I did :
1. Unlock BL
2. Flash dual sim oeminfo C432 using HWOTA
3. Flash ANE-LX1C432B172 (8.0.0.172) : update, update-data-full and ANE-L21_hw_eu
Result is :
- 2 IMEI, second is null
- Both SIM are detected and connected to the network
- Only first SIM can make/received call/SMS
- It works better when I switch data 3g/4g on second SIM - at least for few minutes I can call from both SIM
If I compare with my old P9 lite, fully fonctional dual sim, I see only one IMEI.
Well, any idea for next step? @kilroystyx @DANIELWHITT maybe?
Thanks.
I know there is a thread about rebranding Chinese rom to European rom, the problem is I can't unlock ny phone because i Don't have the unlock code and I'm a noob at working with firmwares
i bought a honor 10 from an online Website which i realized it has Chinese ROM and I'm not comfortable with it, before i could install firmwares from different regions with only having the firmware i want to install and that firmware's region's oeminfo on my honor 6(which the region changing file was installable just like official firmwares), can i do the same with my honor 10?

Hi m8,
The only way to get rid off the Vodafone firmware branding is by flashing the VOG-L09 C431 (assuming you have a C431 cust) dload firmware and then use a different carrier SIM. Using a Vodafone SIM after flashing the international firmware will rebrand your firmware again and get all the Vodafone stuffs (including customisation on build).
A full rebranding isn't possible without unlocking bootloader.

You can see it on Settings/About Phone/Build number (ex. I have Model VOG-L29 and Build Number C431).
The firmware that matches your cust should be found on my thread, here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...-emui-10-dload-fw-vog-l09vog-l29-v10-t4032143.
You will need an OTG adapter/cable + an memory stick at least 8GB exFat formatted. But more info about flashing you will find out on my thread and of course, you can ask for more info here, on your thread or there, on mine
