Unexplained bugs and curious solutions....

Hi everyone, as you know I am a little cooker for our devices ( although my roms are only for french users ) but I like to share with you some generics bug and solution found during my multiples cook/flash/use of the phone.
So here is what I found for curious lockups/reset/freeze solution and cause :
- Don't restore anything else than contact with pimbackup, otherwise, HTCMessaging would crash randomly and your device random reboots too...
- I your device keeps freezing and reboots randomly, tis could be the SDCard Filesystem to be corrupted, I have this case when flashing with SDcard in the phone, noticed it was corrupted because without the card the phone never reboots, in this case, remove SDcard, backup files on a computer, full format the card on the computer, put data back on card and sd card in the phone, enjoy.
For now that's all I have noticed with weird bugs, I someone here experienced this and can confirm or put his bug/solution, just post it!
Thank you for reading, and sorry for my bad approximative english.

[Q] Is there any way to ignore the internal SD memory in Samsung GT-I9003?

Hi everyone,
First things first, sorry if this was covered somewhere else in the forums, I really didn't find this question anywhere so I "had" to post this.
I got my Samsung GT-I9003 4GB a month ago, and everything was working perfectly until 3 days ago. It starts showing an "Internal SD card unexpectedly removed" error whenever the phone goes standby, then it forces me to terminate processes one after another, and finally it shuts down. I hadn't done any kind of ROM flashing nor rooting the device until the problems arose, so I don't know where the problem comes from.
I've tried to re-flash froyo 2.2.1 in my device, but the problem keeps showing up.
I found in this forums this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088474) covering the possibility of swapping both internal memory and external SD. It works great, but I still had problems with the "external SD card" being "unexpectedly removed"...
It crossed my mind if it was possible to modify the vold.fstab file further to only detect the external SD card as the internal memory and ignore the internal memory, as if it wasn't even on the phone. I don't know if that's even possible (since I don't know much about file systems nor Android), but I'd appreciate your thoughts on the matter.

Was having the exact same problem with a further twist, the issue occured almost every half an hour at office and very rarely at home. Tried a factory reset and also GB update via Kies. Problem was still present, so have given it to samsung service and the service rep informed me that it was most likely a motherboard issue.
Recently one of my friends had the same issue. Samsung service center replaced the motheboard and the issue seems to be resolved.
Check this out to recover from a broken (but not fully broken) internal sd card ->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30195720

SD unexpectedly removed

Hello,
I keep getting this message after updating to DLJ4 UK firmware.
Whenever I press the screen button (the one on the right side of the phone), while the screen is still locked i see this
message at the top of the screen. "SD unexpectedly removed", "preparing SD card"
The files are still there, but this message that keeps popping is weird. I tried to reformat the card with the phone, no luck.
I formatted it with Windows to FAT32, still no luck.
I doubt is a card issue, it was fine before the update. It's a Sandisk 32GB Class10.
Any clue?
same problem here

I've got the same issue, any suggestion.?
Thank you
Fix
I have the same problem and despite searching for months for a solution, I cannot seem to find anyone who knows the cause of the problem, however, there is one thing which fixes it, and that is to flash the "perseus" kernel from here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691401
The developer states that the problem is fixed by increasing the mmc timeout value from 300ms to 3 seconds, and the kernel definitely fixes the problem, although I'm not sure it is this modification which fixes the issue, as the same mod has apparently been made to the newest "Siyah" kernel, but the issue still persists with siyah... Long and short, perseus kernel fixes the problem, for me at least.

Hi I don't know whether or not this is useful to yourself but I had a similar problem with my S2 and my S3.
Every now and again it would unmount my SD card and I would get a similar message.I used an app from the play store called the SD card monitor "i think" to check for errors and to see how often this happened.
After all this a quick backup of the memory card, a quick factory reset followed by software update cured my problem for both handsets.
If this has helped please :good: this :highfive:

sd card unmounted/removed unexpectedly! pls help

Hi friends, i have an htc m8 for 5 months or so stock and non rooted , and Im using 64gb class 10 sandisk sd card. So after updating to lollipop i have been getting these errors frequently and i have to restart the handset to fix it temporarily. I had this issue on kitkat as well but happened only rarely like once a month or so.
These two things happened unfortunately,
1) i had dropped my phone on carpet from 2 feet after lollipop update. I wonder if the phone couldn't handle it! But restarting the phone resolves the issue temporarily so i dont recon its a hardware issue?
2) i removed the sd card without unmounting it from settings and immediately got the error and kept happening after that. would this have corrupted the lollipop os or the card. Although card works fine in another handset.
so i am confused what caused the issue. Is the connector loose or what is the problem. this is very annoying!
I have formated sd card, reset handset to factory settings and tried another sd card and still the same issue. sd card is detected on the pc. Happens with transcend sd card as well. Please advise i am confused. Is there a possibilty that a certain file in the lollipop OS may be corrupted or its just a bug in lollipop? And does the phone requires a reflash from
the service center?
