I had a cracked screen on my Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite before and I bought the component to fix it myself, (replacing the screen using service just cost too much in UK, I can almost buy another brand new phone) however the lower half of the screen does not work.
Is there any app that use to make my screen smaller so that I can actually use the usable section of the screen only please?
There is a app Screen Resizer (itdo.at.screenresizer) but i never tested it. But you can enable rotation for lockscreen and launcher, and for soft buttons you can install Auto Hide Softkeys (com.gmd.hidesoftkeys)

Hi,
I have the following problem with my Xperia Neo (hallon):
My touch screen crashed some time ago, so I bought a new one and replaced it. Since then the touch screen works in most parts of the screen just fine. Only in the range around the navigation bar the touch screen does not work. I tracked my finger with the "pointer location" option so I can see that touches are recognized from 0x0 to 478x731 pixels. Beyond that "731 pixel line" the touch screen does not work, so the lower part of my screen does not react because its resolution is 480 x 854 pixels.
My assumption is that the touch screen resolution is too low for the new touch screen so I tried to increase it. I created a "/system/usr/idc/Vendor_0000_Product_0000.idc" file and set it according to the input device configuration guidelines and added a "build.scr" to my sdcard folder but nothing changed.
Any idea what my mistake is?
Regards
Dear members/owners!
I am considering buying the Mate 10 Pro or Honor View 10.
One thing that keeps me from the purchase is the lack of front reader on the Mate 10 Pro.
Basically, I have fallen in love with the P10 Pro's front reader's gestures. It's so great to get all that extra screen estate. But, if there is a workaround/solution for the Mate 10 Pro, I am sold. (The AMOLED panel means better battery life, it has +250mAh juice, and it also has a barometer and a better GPS and OIS.)
I saw a Youtube vid about the Oreo EMUI, that you can place this little circle on the screen, and control the device through that. (I.e.: return to homescreen, etc.)
My question is:
- Is this circle the only way of alternative controls? Are there others?
- Can you use a PIE control (with or without root?). If you don't know what is it, it's a program that hides the bottom navbar, and you slide up your finger from bottom to get a virtual controller. It worked amazing on my G Pro 2.
- I know the fingerprint sensor can pull down the notification bar, but can it do more?
Thank you all!
The recently open apps or any app with light grey or black background show in the other app, Like it I open chrome of some times then I close chrome now I'm in now youtube app I can find everything in YouTube app it the screen color turn into grey or I try to find it I can notice it. After 10-15 min it disappears. There is no screen bleeding issue on my phone. I can literally see my WhatsApp in the background while going through the play store.
I can't attach a screenshot because the shadow effect is not visible in the screenshot. any screen with dark color works fine.
miui 11.05 the problem appears. After Sometime the problem is gone... I gave my poco to the service center after he flashed it the problem is coming. I am not sure if they changed my screen because it was working fine for miui 10 as well as with Miui 11 also.
I raised a complaint in Mi they say they need to change the screen and it will cost around INR 7000(100$). That's quite a lot.
If anyone has a solution to this problem then please help me in that. :crying:
You are not the only one my friend.
Just around the past 20 days I've seen what resembles "Screen Burn In". The image of the previous app remains as a "ghost" in the background. This is especially visible if you play a game like PUBG or CoD Mobile and then you switch to an app which has white background. Normally this issue is seen only on OLED but oddly enough it's showing on Poco which is LCD.
Thankfully though, the ghosting effect disappears after a while. If it does not disappear, you can use any app that can cycle the RGB colors. It is not a permanent fix.
Poco cut corners especially with the display. Issues from rejected touch to ghost touch to now this image retention problem.

i didn't have that problem it just starts occurring after i gave it to the service center
I have same issue.. specifically after high brightness...
That's a hardware issue and should have been replaced while in warranty. I have Pocophone F1 for over a year now (bought November 2018) but didn't have any issue. My usage is splitscreen with youtube at the top and any app at the bottom, screen is ON most of the time during my 8 hrs of work time with max continuous screen ON of 4 to 6 hours with brightness level averaging at around 60% using Auto. NO ghosting, image retention that happened on mine. Your IPS display is probably defective.
So before upgrading to the Nord N105G I had a OnePlus 6T, which was a very reliable phone. I had it since launch, and I got very used to the behavior of the ambient display.
I didn't have any of those new-fangled features enabled like Smart Lock or Face Unlock, but I did use the fingerprint scanner but that's neither here nor there.
The display behavior I expect is that a single-tap will turn on the display (from completely off) to the black ambient display with the clock on it. Double tap to wake works just fine, but single tap does not.
Also possibly related: On the 6T I could use quick gestures to launch the flashlight etc from either a display-off state or the ambient display. However, on the Nord, quick gestures do not work on the ambient display - they can only be triggered when the display is fully off. Is anyone else experiencing these issues?
Also, I'm curious. If I use Titanium Backup (rooted) to back up the old Ambient Display app from the OP6T and then restore it to the new phone I wonder if they'd play nice. Might fiddle a bit...
No.
This isn't the same phone by a long shot and the display is one of those big changes.
Ambient display and it's features are limited to oled (and derivatives) screens.
At most, you'd be lucky if the app even registers.

I totally get what you're saying, and you seem knowledgeable, so you're likely right. However, other than the quirks I've described the Ambient display works exactly the same as it did on the OP6T.
For example, Plus Beat still works even though it hasn't been supported since shortly after the release of the 6t. It was designed for an OLED display as a replacement for a standard notification LED (Lighting up a few pixels on an OLED screen IS essentially a notification LED). Plus Beat will wake the N105G's ambient display and display the exact same notification info; obviously its lighting up the entire display to do this, but whatever foundation was originally laid to wake the ambient display doesn't seem to have changed.
So, when I find the time to flash the newest TWRP and make a backup, I will fiddle with it anyway, because contrary to your statement, I think the OP6T ambient display app will replace the N105G's app just fine. Whether the native Android settings will hook into it functionally or not is a whole different beast.
Ambient Display is useless for IPS screens. I use Glimpse Notifications, it normally turns on the screen and a bunch of settings

I don't understand why you'd prefer lighting the lock screen with Glimpse Notifications when Plus Beat still functions as a notification LED (with info) on the black background ambient display. It's not true black obviously because it's not an OLED display, but it's pretty close.
Hello, I would like to ask if there is anyone else who has a shadow on their Xiaomi 12T screen that is quite noticeable when viewing full white. Is there any way to fix it, or do I have to go to a service center? Last month, I just had it repaired for a Bluetooth issue. Thank you.
Try apps from the Google play to fix screen, like this one for example:
Screen Burn Fixer - Apps on Google Play
Fix screen burn-in, remove ghost images & restore colors fast.
play.google.com
Good luck
